It must be new stock day in Toys R Us, because we've got another sighting! Toys R Us San Jose in California has the Rescue Bots Epic Optimus Prime on shelves. Standing 22 inches tall, this one retails for $30 and has an opening chest to accommodate the 2 inch PVC figures. Big thanks to JukeOutlander for the heads up!

Two new sightings for you now, and first up, we can report that the Age of Extinction Custom Kreons have been found at a Toys R Us in San Jose, California. Wave 2 of the custom Kreons adds movie Bumblebee, Hound, Crosshairs and Galvatron into the mix. This assortment is currently the only way that the Age of Extinction Galvatron Kreon is available in a "standard" form - the one that comes with the Factory Battle set is boosted up with several extra Kre-O pieces.
Happy hunting, everyone! |

Pictures are starting to surface from this year's Summer Wonder Festival in Japan! Thanks to AmiAmi's Twitter page we have our first look at a near-final D-Style Optimus Prime from Kotobukiya. This is also the first look at this release's accessories: namely Optimus Prime's trademark Energon Axe, Rifle, an alternate pointing hand and a miniature version of Optimus Prime's vehicle form. Stay tuned to TFW2005 over the weekend as more news from Wonder Festival hits.

TFW2005's coverage of Summer Wonder Festival in Japan continues, this time thanks to images from 2chan.
First off, we have images of upcoming poseable figures of Generation One Arcee and Elita-1 from Fewture Models (similiar to the Optimus Prime and Alpha Trion articulated figures we originally reported on during the last Wonder Festival in February.) Secondly, Sentinel (company behind toylines such as Riobot, as well as the Optimus Prime transforming pen) has revealed that they will be producing a retool of their previously revealed Gigantic Action non-transforming Zarak toy into Black Zarak from Transformers: Masterforce! This non-transforming collector's piece is perfect for those who are very wary of the original Black Zarak's infamous Gold Plastic Syndrome. Unless you want a Transforming Black Zarak, that is. Stay tuned to TFW2005 as we bring you more news from Summer Wonder Festival as it happens! |

Another reveal from Wonderfest 2014, it seems Prime 1 Studio are in the process of making an Optimus Prime with Grimlock statue. Estimated to be about 1 metre from head to tail, it recreates the scene in Age of Extinction where Optimus Prime tames Grimlock in epic style and the two head off to save the day. Check out the first images of this statue courtesy of allonsanfan and xterry.

More Transformers Rescue Bots sightings news now, and we've got a double-whammy of new sightings on that front. First up we have reports of the electronic Heatwave Rescue Dinobot being sighted in a Toys R Us in San Jose Caliornia and in Jonestown Pennsylvania. Heatwave the Rescue Dinobot is non-transforming, but features electronic lights and sounds.
Additionally at the same Toys R Us in Jonestown Pennsylvania, we have a report that the smaller 12 inch Rescue Bots Epic figures Boulder, Blades and Heatwave have been spotted, and it's almost certain that means Chase is out as well since all four would appear to be shipping together. No photo for this one, but the report is credible, so be sure to keep your eyes open if you are after these toys. A big thanks go to JukeOutlander and engledogg of our 2005 Boards for the heads-up! |

More new Transformers sightings! The Transformers Mr Potato Heads Optimus Prime with Grimlock set have now been sighted at retail, in a Toys R Us in San Jose, California. This set is a part of the mixable, mashable heroes series of Mr Potato Heads, and features Generation 1 themed Optimus and Grimlock - but that doesn't stop Optimus riding on Grimlock, Age of Extinction style!

Hot on the heels of the news that the second Takara-Tomy Arts Transformer / console mashup would be an Optimus Prime based on the original Playstation, we have a look at a prototype of the toy via Taghobby. This prototype which was shown off at the Summer Wonderfestival in Japan is unpainted but for the classic Playstation console logo on Prime's chest. Check out the images for a look at this upcoming release in the Transformers Takara-Tomy Arts series.

Prime 1 Studios were not only showing off their new Grimlock with Optimus Prime statue at the Summer Wonderfest in Japan - they also had a booth at the San Diego Comic Con, and our team were able to stop by and take lots of gorgeous high-res pics of this high-end collectable. Check it out - it looks really sharp and you can really appreciate the details. Also on show was their Dark of the Moon Optimus Prime - and we've got some pics of that statue for you here as well.

Autobase Aichi has shared some pictures from the Prime 1 Studio booth at the Summer Wonderfest 2014 in Japan. Their Transformers line was there in full force, with all releases shown including a first look at a prototype of an Age of Extinction Drift statue. The Autobot samurai is still at an early stage, and is the seventh planned statue from Prime 1, but already looks very sharp.
Also on show were all Prime 1's other releases, which means we get a new look at their upcoming Bumblebee, Matrix prop replica, and the Optimus Prime, Megatron and Starscream busts. Check out a selection of the new images after the break. |

Amiami has updated with official images of Sentinel's gigantic non-transforming licensed Megazarak (aka Scorponok) and Black Zarak (aka the expensive Scorponok recolor with gold plastic syndrome).
These "Gigantic Action" figures each stand about two feet tall, so are scaled against the height of the Generation 1 Fortress Maximus toy, and are based on how the characters looked in their appearances in the Headmasters and Masterforce animated series in 1987 and 1988 respectively. They're due in late October (for Megazarak) and late November (for Black Zarak), but they come with a huge pricetag of 48,600 yen or around $480! |

IDW has sent out an SDCC press release detailing a few of their future Transformers books, including more information and clarification on both the upcoming Combiner Wars and Angry Birds series. Specifically, it seems that the Combiner Wars toy tie-in will be an event that spans across both the Robots in Disguise (#39-41) and Windblade Returns (#1-3) series, in a fashion similar to that of the previous toy tie-in event, Dark Cybertron:
Transformers: Combiner Wars A new Transformers event, Transformers: Combiner Wars will start March 2015 from writers Mairghread Scott and John Barber and artists Sarah Stone and Livio Ramondelli. It’s an arms-race of truly titanic proportions as a long-lost ancient artifact allows the Cybertronians to unite into more powerful, gigantic forms. Will Cybertron—or the galaxy—be able to withstand the onslaught? Find out with a prologue and 5 issues, running in TRANSFORMERS #39-41 and the new TRANSFORMERS: WINDBLADE #1-3, which will be packed in with select TRANSFORMERS GENERATIONS toys. Angry Birds / Transformers Announced earlier this year, Rovio and Hasbro have teamed up two beloved properties in Angry Birds and The TRANSFORMERS! This fall IDW will bring the mayhem to comics with the brand new series, Angry Birds Transformers, expanding on the unexpected backgrounds of this explosive crossover! Written by The Transformers mastermind, John Barber, with art by Marcelo Ferriera, this crossover will be one for the record books! Check out the full press release after the break and discuss on the boards! |
