In what has become typical fashion of the independent company FansProject, we were treated to what looks like a finished pair of figures after seeing few updates throughout the past few months. This time around we have new colored images from Mr. Elljay on Weibo of FansProject homages to Sixknight and Quickswitch. These two characters are from the latter portions of Generation 1, Sixknight being a part of Super-God Masterforce cartoon while Quickswitch had appearances in both the Marvel UK comics and season 5 of the original Generation 1 cartoon. No preorder information has been shared as of yet.
Did FansProject surprise you with these? Let us know in the discussion link below! |

It's not very often Transformers fans get to witness toy history, such as something as epic as a nearly $27,000 G2 Menasor auction. Needless to say when prototypes, unreleased items, and test shots are shown, Transformers fans can be mesmerized by what we see. TFW thought it would be cool to share a small piece of that with two videos provided by z75sales, the seller who has been listing several unreleased items including the infamous G2 Menasor.
In the two videos we get a glimpse of the sheer size of an ex Kenner/Hasbro employee who is selling off the collection of untouched and rarely seen items. Literally hundreds of boxes with toys from the late 80's and 1990's need to be organized and categorized, some of which still hold surprises! Check out the videos below for a fun piece of the rarely seen side of our hobby. |

TFW2005 boards member griffin-of-oz is here to bring us an in-hand look at the Transformers: Age of Extinction Platinum Edition Optimus Prime & Sideswipe set. He offers us a gallery of the figures, showing them off with some comparisons, as well as a writeup detailing the set.
If you thought the original First Edition Optimus Prime figure had a lot of chrome, think again, because this version has even more of it, along with an alternate faceplated head sculpt. Also coming in the set is a recolor of the trailer from MP-10, as well as a Sideswipe who is quite similar to the ROTF Swerve figure. Check out TFW's selection of images, then griffin's gallery after the jump as well as the full gallery at Ozformers! |

Here's some bittersweet news for you all - TFW has been keeping an eye on this and wanted to post all available information for all to see.
3rd party freelancer and MMC designer Cassy Sark has been posting a smattering of (glorious) Cybertronian figure concepts up on his Facebook, which were apparently intended to be Ultra class-sized. These are: • Zealot (Lugnut) • Triton (Depth Charge) • Turbulance (Skyquake) In addition, while we don't have images of what they would have looked like, these are more retools which were evidently going to be made: • Straxus • IDW Jhiaxus Alas, these projects were planned, but never came to be, with no company wanting to produce them. However, there are rumors about that these images are being released to gauge interest in them, and potentially be picked up by any willing 3rd party company. So, would you like to see these be made? Check out the images and sound off after the jump! |

Via Dengeki Hobby, we have our first look at the next two releases in the Transformers Cloud series. On the Autobot side we have Roadbuster, a Transformers Energon Ironhide themed repaint of Generations Roadbuster. He's the fourth wave's Takara-Tomy Mall exclusive, and works shockingly well in the Energon Ironhide deco.
On the Decepticon side we have Hellwarp, a Skywarp themed recolor of Generations Skybyte. Hellwarp is the E-Hobby exclusive of the fourth set of Cloud releases. He's got an involved backstory - while Hellwarp is a complete new, non-homage character, there was a Hellscream in 1998's Beast Wars Second, who was a remold of Cybershark to represent an evolved version of that show's Starscream. Hellwarp is a similar concept - a recolored version of Generations Skybyte to represent a cyborg shark evolution of skywarp. To top it off, the mohawk head that using the Skybyte mold gives Skywarp just might be a reference to Transformers Armada Skywarp, who also had a fin on his head. Check out the full gallery on Dengeki Hobby, which includes new pics of the previous six Cloud releases as well. |

Amazon have put up a preorder page for a trade paperback of IDW's new Transformers VS G.I. Joe series. Coming in December 2014, this volume boasts 152 pages, which works out at 5 or 6 issues including the Free Comic Book Day zero issue. Other details are light - we don't even have a cover for this one yet. Watch this space for future updates.

Perfect Effect have revealed a new version / accessory pack for their popular unofficial Fortress Maximus, Warden, may be in the works. They've posted up photos on their Facebook page showing a version of Warden with some extra accessories including a new gun and boots to make Warden a bit taller and more Fortress Maximus proportioned.
At this time, we're not clear on if this is an accessory set, a new version of the figure with the new accessories, or if both options will happen. It's been pointed out that in order to work some of the new leg parts the original figure's knees need to be replaced - so it's possible this is a new full figure release. |

eBay seller starwarsprotos is at it again with another rare item. This time it's Beast War's Optimal Optimus, in prototype form. The figure is mostly black plastic with hints of orange. He comes from an estate of a former Kenner/Hasbro employee that starwarsprotos is slowly auctioning off.

Japanese hobby magazine Dengeki Hobby has some new images of the prototype of the Masterpiece Fan's Choice figure, Star Saber. The commander of the Cybertrons in the Japanese continuity, Star Saber is loaded with features authentic to the original toy.
Of note is that the Brainmaster figure is present - as we saw in previous images - and there is a demonstration of how the Brainmaster feature works this time out. Unlike the original - where the smaller robot's face was within the Brainmaster figure - this time out it seems like the face is within the robot, with the Brainmaster merely fitting in the chest. This does make the Saber portion of Star Saber somewhat animation-accurate, though. The combination of smaller Saber robot and V-Star booster module for the larger Star Saber robot are also demonstrated, along with the lateral arm movement of the full Star Saber figure. There's also a look at some more dynamic poses from both Saber and Star Saber, plus concealed rocket pods for the jet mode - again, all of this seems to be very heavily taken from the look of Star Saber in the animation. Check out the scans - coming at you via Taghobby - attached to this post. |

IDW has posted the subscription and retailer incentive variant covers for More than Meets the Eye issue #32 - due out this week! The subscription variant cover features the popular new face among the Autobots Nautica alongside a popular familiar face, Nightbeat, while the retailer incentive is another 30th anniversary throwback to a classic tail - this time the classic 1988 arc which saw Ratchet and Megatron merged into one horrendous creature in a Spacebridge accident. Check out the artwork for both cover variants attached to this post.

Taghobby have shared some new images of the upcoming superdeformed versions of Optimus Prime and Rodimus Prime from ArtStorm. Standing 110 mm high, these cutesy little figures are a part of the ES Transformers series. They're nicely detailed licensed figures that do not transform, and they seem to be due for a release around April of 2015 for 4,800 yen. Check out the new images after the break.

Hisashi Yuki has tweeted a fresh image of the prototype of Masterpiece Star Saber. This new image shows the core robot - named Saber - alongside the original Generation 1 Saber robot. This image shows that the new Masterpiece edition of Saber is smaller than his Generation 1 original, but also shows up just how much more detailed and animated the new figures design is - check out the much improved chest proportions, for example! We've attached the new image to this story - keep it TFW for more Masterpiece Transformers news!
