We've got another new Generations toy to share a look at with you today! The next wave of Generations will shortly be arriving at US retail and one of the four new toys being released in the new assortment will be Jhiaxus!
Generations Jhiaxus is the second time that the main antagonist of the 12 issue Marvel Transformers Generation 2 series has got a toy, but this is the first one to have been molded to look like his comic incarnation - that said, he's got the colors of his previous toy release, a store exclusive in the Robots in Disguise line. Either way, it's the first time Jhiaxus has has a mass retail, non-exclusive release! Jhiaxus is a remold of the Generations Armada Starscream, an extensive remold that sees him gain not only a new head but a completely reworked chest / upper torso, jet nosecone, wings, tailfins and weapons. A new transformation step is also added, with the nose of the jet now folding into the chest instead of just hanging in front of the robot's waist. There's plenty of details in the design too, though the bright orange colors - and it really is a garish shade - does make it hard to properly appreciate the level of detail worked in. Check out our gallery and see what you think! Generations Jhiaxus gallery |

The newly released figures are Brawn, who is a Takara-Tomy Mall exclusive and a remold of Transformers Prime First Edition Bulkhead. Joining him is a triple-changing Starscream who is a redeco of Generations Doubledealer, with the nul-rays from Masterpiece Starscream. "Stardealer" is an E-Hobby exclusive. Check out the images of both figures after the break.

The Toys R Us exclusive Optimus Prime Evolution 2 pack which was sighted in Hong Kong earlier this month, has now surfaced stateside. 2005 boards member C130 Ginrai spotted this set in a Toys R Us in Tustin, California.
This set features Optimus Prime(Evolutions Then) using the Classic 2006 mold. Meanwhile Optimus Prime(Evolutions Now) uses the Evasion Mode Optimus Prime mold. Unlike the initial stock photos however, the Classics Optimus here now features painted yellow eyes. Meanwhile Evasion Optimus no longer has the battle mask head sculpt. Happy hunting! Post your Transformers sightings here and if you've made the 1st sighting of a new Transformers item, feel free to share the news in our Transformers news forum! |

Next up in our series of gallery updates, we have a look at the Fan-built 'bot herself, Windblade! She's billed as "the first fan-built bot" as well as being the 30th in the series of 30 special edition releases to commemorate 30 years of Transformers. She's also something quite rare in modern Transformers - a complete new character rather than a homage or a reference to someone in the past lore.
Windblade has evidently had a lot of time spent on her toy. From her detailed paint apps to her sword complete with scabbard and removable fan in her "hair", Windblade really does live up to the billing of being a bit special. She's got a cool design with a few nice touches, including the ability to angle her VTOLs forward, the aforementioned removable fan, and the sword, which can be sheathed in a scabbard with a variety of different posing options. The scabbard has tabs on either side which can fit into any of the "cuts" for the swivel joints as well as groves on the jet nosecone, so Windblade can wear her sword on her back, her hip, and so on. The scabbard also has a 5mm handgrip allowing you to do some nifty poses involving Windblade drawing her sword - we quickly found she could do a lot of fun samurai poses. We really like Windblade and hope that we can see more toys with her standard of design, detail and "nice touches" come along soon enough. Check out our gallery and see if you agree: Generations Windblade Gallery |

Transformers Asia have updated with some details of the collector coin which is being released alongside Masterpiece Wheeljack in Asian markets (excluding Japan). As with past releases, the coin features some pretty sweet packaging, in this case, packaging which slides sideways to reveal the coin. When closed, the packaging resembles Wheeljack's racing stripes. Check out the image attached to this story.

After a quiet couple of weeks following the launch of the public beta, Jagex have updated their Transformers Universe Facebook page with some new teaser images.
First up is a look at a look at a new Decepticon, who we believe is named Pandemic. He sports a nifty purple and gold color scheme, perhaps with a tank alternate mode - and judging by the ground about his feet, he might fight using some kind of tentacles or vines. Or maybe it's just a fancy effect. Next up is someone we all know - Megatron! More specifically, this is Jagex's take on Megatron, who seems to be on the "warrior" end of the spectrum, a Decepticon marked with wounds of a dozen battles and untroubled by any of them. His design seems to bring in a bit of inspiration from the War for Cybertron designs - check it out! |

Hisashi Yuki has tweeted out a new image, showing the V-Star component of Masterpiece Star Saber and Generation 1 Star Saber in their robot modes. Interestingly, while the Masterpiece version of the Brain of Courage and Saber are smaller than their originals, the full Masterpiece Star Saber is marginally bigger than its original form. There's evidence of some better proportions on the Masterpiece version, such as an elongated torso, and you can again see plenty more detail on the Masterpiece Star Saber - right down to some little doors on the inside of the legs, to conceal the hinges that let the lower legs swing out for the V-Star transformation. Check out the image attached to this post.

After what feels like days of teases with individual parts shown side by side, we've got the payoff from Hisashi Yuki in the form of a full, side by side comparison of the new Masterpiece Star Saber and Generation 1 Star Saber. As we mentioned earlier, Masterpiece Star Saber is slightly taller than his Generation 1 counterpart and is better proportioned, as this image demonstrates. We can also see how the design is very closely modeled on the animation model of Star Saber giving the robot a very dynamic look. All in all, Masterpiece Star Saber is shaping up well and promises to be an excellent addition to our Masterpiece Transformers collections - check out the image and see for yourself.

Let's get the week started off right, how about a new Masterpiece reveal?! Just revealed via Tag Hobby is Masterpiece MP-23 Exhaust! MP-23 is a redeco of the soon to be released MP-20 Wheeljack with a new head. This Masterpiece figure appears to be based on the Diaclone figure that became wheelback, better known as "Marlboro Wheeljack." The character name of Exhaust looks to be an original name given to this "new" character.
We'll keep you updated as more news becomes available. For now, enjoy the first image of MP-23 Exhaust! |

Via Taghobby, we have our first look at Masterpiece Star Saber in color! While it's a small image, it shows us how the big guy is going to look once he is finished - and he looks awesome!
In addition, this new information confirms that Star Saber will be MP-24, and will be released in March 2015 priced 18,000 yen. Separately, the TFYuki twitter account has tweeted a new image showing Star Saber in a stoic pose - what's notable about this image is it shows there is some real movement in those shoulders. Check out both images attached to this story! |

Good news for Transformers Kre-O fans, the second wave of Age of Extinction Microchangers blindpacks have been spotted at US retail. A full case was reported by TFW2005 boards member TransfanG1 at a Toys 'R Us in Montgomeryville, Pennsylvania. As we previously reported back in June, this wave of blindpacks ditched the serial number that made it oh so easy to get the Kreon you wanted, making the figures a true random pick.

The Transformers Colombia Facebook page has posted an image revealing that, at least in some markets, there will be a packaging variation to the Age of Extinction Power Battlers. These variant packages, much like some variants on the One Step Changers we reported on a while ago, forgo the usual blister packaging for an enclosed box with larger character art. The example shown here features the Power Battler Galvatron, but we'd imagine at the very least this whole wave will receive variant packaging.

Independent group FansToys just updated their Weibo page with new colored prototype images of their Masterpiece-esque Soar (also know as Swoop). This round of images reveal the cartoon accurate blue deco on the next figure slated to be released by FansToys, who became well known with their amazing release of Quakewave (Shockwave) and most recently Scoria (Dinobot Slag).
Soar will come with several weapon accessories including two missile launchers and a light up sword, and will also include a flight stand to capture Soar flying in action! Also revealed in the images is an interchangeable beak/head which will allow you to swap a gold chromed beak into a a translucent plastic one with red showing underneath, similarly looking to the G1 toy. We'll update you as more information is revealed about these features. Be sure to check out our sponsors at the top of the page to throw down a preorder for this figure as he's slated to be released later this year (hopefully). Check it out after the jump! |
