If anybody has a Ms. Marvel with what you believe to be an unacceptable paint job, I am looking to acquire several for customs and at least for the Phoenix I have planned, a few paint splotches won't matter. I have the Cap and Radioactive Man from the set available (for the people who are looking to customize them, most likely).

Starting painting these guys over. I hated the clean look. I figured Beast walks on his hands and feet, he's needs to be super dirty and battled as a teen age X-Man and not the Dr. Type.
Def stealing "marvelmandos" idea and changing heads on Angel. Last edited by Byrnes; 10-29-2014 at 09:01 AM.. |

Beast is looking pretty good, but, if I may say so, I dunno about the dirty wash on cyclops. Scott seems more like the kind of guy to try and keep his suit clean than getting into a down and dirty scrap. But they're not my figures, so do what pleases you

Thanks, your probably right about Cyclops. But I didn't like they way they were painted, so I'm getting em dirty. Got the set from TRU for $40 so I figure it's an improvement for display since I had them in the box for 4- weeks as is.

It's definitely an improvement over the factory paintjob, it really seemed liked they just phoned it in. Even worse is how they were charging 120+ for preorders on their website a few months ago, but at least they learned a lesson, since nobody bought them at regular price, and now they have to clearance 'em out, haha.

looking great man! I couldn't even tell that was the box set. the paint wash makes the sculpt pop so much more. I'm no skilled painter, but the only thing that I think would make them look better would be maybe doing some kind of wash on angels wings to bring out the detail of the feathers, possibly grey, or black.

I honestly hate the head sculpt on the movie Gamora. I have an extra female SHIELD agent head I'm thinking of painting up to look like Gamora. The body os the figure is fine, I just really don't like the head.

Hey you got W4 of the MU stuff with GOTG/Wonderman? I saw some including Death's Head at the grocery store of all places. |

I like it, I just in general wish they gave her the yellow rings in the movie.

I received my order from Target.com today and when I got it I was thankful I don't collect Legends MISB.
Then I saw the paint app on Carol and the gash on her upper leg. This is definitely being returned. :/ The paint apps on Cap and Radioactive Man are not perfect, but they aren't bad either. |

All the Marvels I've seen have some issue around the hips. This is a fodder body that i sanded all the gashes off of and removed the badly done flesh tone paint from the thighs completely. I would recommend doing this for anyone that is stuck with a crap Marvel that they're forced to display.

Probably try a little White wash to Angel's wings still but love this set so much more now.

There's something really off with those figures like that, and yet I kind of also really like what you did because they have more "oompf" to them now. They look great, but too much brown washing. And why on Iceman?
I would have done a black wash on the blue parts, then drybrushed a navy blue. The brown on the yellow works, orange or darker yellow would have done good too. Then I'd dry brush yellow over it. As they are, some yellow highlights and they'd be spectacular. |

Mine came OK but a bit of bad paint on thighs.
Anyone need a Cap America from this set? |

Well I could see that being a hindrance but I woul say you have overcome your handicap! I was helping a friend today paint cabinets and he stopped me and asked if I wore glassy when I customized my figures and I said "yes magnifying glasses". He then told me that I should wear them when I work with him too. I guess I'm just plain blind as a mofo.

WOW, that paint job on Carol is horrible! I would definitely take it back too. That may be the worst I have seen yet. Sorry man. |

Was there any padding at all in the shipping box? I am running into that more and more now when buying from companies. Sad when Ebay sellers are packing 3-4x better than Target or Amazon.
