I already have the normal one, so thats a pass for me. Are they making any new tv show cars for next year? I checked out the wiki for the listings for next years cars and they are just cramming out previous releases.

So far, all they have announced in the main line are re-releases, but they have teased a couple of things like a new 2015 Batmobile and new vehicles in the "Tooned" category, but no specifics so far. For the Retro Entertainmant line, I haven't heard of many upcoming vehicles. Towards the end of 2014, there should be a wave that is rumored to have the Ghostbusters II Ecto-1, the 1989 Batmobile, and the Delorean from BTTF III, along with another James Bond vehicle. Hopefully we'll get some more info soon on the 2015 waves. I honestly wouldn't mind if Mattel started to re-release vehicles form the earlier waves. The Retro Entertainment line is so tough to find, and in my area, if you a miss a specific vehicle, it's a strong possibility that you won't ever see it, since the stores never seem to restock the same wave twice. They just move on to the next wave a few weeks/months later. Last edited by Frank Richards; 09-30-2014 at 12:47 PM.. |

This new 2014 Batmobile sub-line, commemorating Batman's 75th Anniversary, came as a complete surprise to me.
Unfortunately, they are all re-releases, and there was nothing new or notable. A few had some slight re-decoes, but that was about it. Many of them even had packaging similar to the last Batmobile sub-line, except for that the 75th Anniversary emblem in the upper right corner, so before anyone assumes that I'm posting pics of that last Batmobile sub-line, check out the upper right corner, lol. I guess this is a good thing for those who don't already have these Batmobiles, especially the 60's ere Batmobile, but these were all a pass for me. Sorry for the awful pics, but the night stocking crew was working in the area and I didn't want to get in their way, and I also didn't want to explain why I was taking pics of their Hot Wheels, lol. Oh yeah, for those who are interested in this line, if memory serves, it includes: - '66 Batmobile - The Batman Batmobile (with yellow stripe instead of previous blue and red) - Brave and the Bold Batmobile - Arkham Asylum Batmobile - Batcopter - Batman Live Batmobile - The Bat - "Hardnoze" Batmobile I didn't see the '66 Batmobile, or The Bat, but they were listed on the back of the packaging. The only one I saw but didn't get pics of was the "Hardnoze" version of the '89 Batmobile. I'll double-check the next time I'm at Wal-Mart to be sure that I didn't forget any others. Here are my finds for October :
I just found Marty's truck from BttF a couple of days ago, and I am VERY excited about it. It only had brief appearances in the trilogy, but as a kid, I was enamored with that truck nearly as much as I was with the Delorean. Lol, it's a shame that the Hot Wheels version isn't actually an '85 extended cab SR5 like Marty's, but, well, it's close enough, I guess Last edited by Frank Richards; 10-29-2014 at 09:39 PM.. |

It's been a while since I've picked up any HW or Matchbox cars, but I had two very exciting finds today !
I'd been kicking myself for quite some time for not snagging a Jeep Hurricane last time it was available, so I was excited to find a repaint of it today. Even more exciting is the Ford Bronco I found at a local shop. I recently realized that my collection was completely devoid of any Broncos, so that truck has been on the top of my list since then.

I have plenty of the re-paints of this Batmobile, but today, at a local shop, I found the original purple and black version from '04 !

I posted about this in the "things you just got" thread, but I found 6 of the 8 new star wars cars. It was a shock since I didn't even know they were coming out, but they're all pretty damned awesome.

Initially, I thought that I would grab the cars for Eps. IV-VI, as well as the Clone Wars and Rebels cars, but something about them just doesn't appeal to me. I've never been a fan of the more ostentatious Hot Wheels design, and these are basically that type of Hot Wheel, just with Star Wars logos/emblems/insignia placed on them somewhere. If the vehicles themselves had more of a Star Wars aesthetic, I'd pick them up, but personally, I feel as if the packaging is the most attractive thing about this line. But, at about $1 each, I can see myself giving in and picking these up at some point soon.

I saw quite a few Retro Entertainment Homers and Lotuses while hunting today. Check out the "Look What I Passed Up" thread for pics.

Found these at a local thrift store a few weeks ago. Missing a few parts, but I cant complain for $3. I already have one of the hummers, so now I have 3. Great additions to my movie car collection.

Pretty excited about finding these Supernatural cars today!
I still haven't found the '70 Charger yet, but I'm pretty excited about the '70 Challenger. I also saw Greenlight Collectibles' Supernatural "Film Reel" set, but even at only $25, I just wasn't feeling it. Maybe I'll have a change of heart and pick one up. I also grabbed this Ford Bronco a few weeks back (I used to love Broncos when I was younger), but have been waiting until I found some other cars to post it with. EDIT: Oh yeah, I spotted about a dozen more Homers and Lotuses from the Retro Entertainment line while on a fairly expansive hunt today. I hope that the next wave is as easy to find in my area, because I really want the Ecto-1A from that wave.

There's an orange HW Showdown logo on the top of the card back to the left of the J hook on those. I found that and a repaint of the 89 Batmobile that is iridescent and has yellow pinstripes. It's in F cases and round speedometer logo next to the J hook. It's just a repaint, but it's only a dollar so I bought one anyway. |
