Thanks. I'll admit that I didn't think Toxin would be the fig that would draw a comment lol...dynamic pose FTW every time |

Otachi came in from bbts today! My thoughts: Otachi was my favorite kaiju in Pacific Rim, and now she's my favorite toy from Pacific Rim. As is usual with NECA her sculpt and paint are gorgeous, and her pose is quite nicer than the previous kaiju figures released. She's also bigger, not taller but wider and longer than the others. Her tail comes separate in the box but it was really easy for me to plug on and it uses a series of ball joints instead of a bendy wire which is nice. The pincer/claw at the end was stiff at first but it opens and has a nifty gear setup so the claws move in unison (the gears on mine only work together when closing the claws). She is around $70 final price, but I think it was worth it considering she's big(ish) and I love her little baby. Otachi also came with a swap-off acid spit tongue but I didn't bother messing with it as I don't intend to display her with it. I'd recommend her to any PR fans who're interested and don't mind the price.

I've only seen Iron Fist and Sentry once at TRU. Nowhere else. They are the only two figures I want from the wave and the paint apps were pretty bad, so I had to pass on them.

I found this DC Comics Multiverse Arkham Knight “Mysterious Villain” on the way home from my class last night. I hadn’t seen him in my area before or on any of the forums so is he a new release?

He came out about a month or two ago along with Hush, so he is still fairly new.

So happy to find the whole Allfather wave in store but, sadly due to funds, I could only pick up my 2 most wanted. Hoping I might pick up a couple more if money allows later this month. By the way - there's a little brown paint smudge on Scarlet Witch's face - any pointers on how to remove this? Thanks in advance!
And I ordered this guy online. Just cherry picking this wave, I'm waiting for Daredevil to arrive and I'm hoping to pick up Spider-Man 2099 in the future too. Last edited by zombombie; 03-04-2015 at 11:53 AM.. Reason: addition |

I was hesitant because of her price but I am really glad I caved and got it. Reckoning nobody else makes Pacific Rim toys and her size compared to an SH figure at this price range, Otachi is overall worth it. My biggest issue with the price comes from comparing her to another NECA product though, the 24 inch Godzilla was around the same price and is easily the bigger of the two figures (plus he has a sound gimmick).

A small dab of orange cleaner (the type used to remove adhesive) on a Q-tip with some gentle rubbing will usually do the trick. Just be sure to test on the figure if possible beforehand, usually on an area you are not going to be looking at too much (such as the bottom of a figure's foot.) Orange clean can damage or stain plastics, depending on the the type of plastic it is being used on.

Thanks Trivial. I haven't seen any Hush figures in my area yet but there were 4 of the "Mysterious Villain" figures on the pegs.

Finally pulled the trigger on the Aliens Queen. It also helped that Hastings sent me a coupon for 25% off ANY action figure and the Queen counted. Even with watching video reviews and pics I can not get over how huge she is in person.
Also found a couple Targets that got the new Hobgoblin wave in. Both stores I saw them at were untouched. Glad I passed on the first Mayday Parker I saw. She had smudges on her chest that almost looked like black nipples, it was bad. Had to pass on DD since both I saw had errors in the DD logo on his chest. So I got Spidey 2099. Also saw the second wave of Nintendo figures and got Diddy Kong. He is decent but I could not stop laughing at how he got packaged. |

Unfortunately you probably won't find Otachi at retail, TRU considers the item "too big" which is horse shit on their part. A specialty store like Hastings or a lcs might get some in.

My biggest issue with the price comes from comparing her to another NECA product though, the 24 inch Godzilla was around the same price and is easily the bigger of the two figures (plus he has a sound gimmick). as for the price, i agree with you.. i feel like it's not all that much bigger than their standard kaiju figures. definitely not big enough to warrant the price.. now, if it had included an extra set of winged arms.. THAT would be awesome and totally worth the price. maybe it's the accessories that added to the price, or perhaps they were added to justify the price, who knows. i mean, it's not an astronomical price, it's just a tad too much when compared to the other figures in the line. i sort of have one foot in with the pacific rim figures and one foot out.. i have a few of them, but not all of them. so, unless i win the lottery, i'll probably wind up skipping this one and put that money towards something else. it sucks though cause i really think it looks fantastic, definitely their best looking kaiju thus far. |

I watched a review of the Hobgoblin BAF and I was really impressed. I'm not too familiar with the Spiderverse but these figures are all really awesome. Unlike the Green Goblin wave, I will be building him and don't feel like any of the figures are duds. I'm going to enjoy building him every step of the way.
