The highly anticipated More than Meets the Eye #39 is coming in two weeks time, on April 8th - and iTunes has just added a preview of this next instalment of the saga. Issue #39 is titled "Return of the D.J.D." and delivers on that promise from the word go, with the five members of the Decepticon punishment squad appearing prominently in these three pages. Fans be warned, there's something of a spoiler on page 3 - though those who enjoy trying to put all the pieces of the plot together will eat this one right up!
Mark your calendars, it's April 8th for More than Meets the Eye #39, the return of the Decepticon Justice Division, and the introduction of Deszaras / Deathsaurus into the IDW Transformers universe! |

It's happening! TakaraTomyMall has just revealed a Masterpiece figure that will surely send fans into a frenzy: MP-18B Bluestreak! That's right, it's a blue Bluestreak! This deco is based on the Diaclone figure and has been a color scheme desperately wanted by the fanbase.
According to the web page, it looks like this will be a limited release of about 2,000 and available in Japan, likely as a web or other type of exclusive, so it may be one of the more difficult pieces to obtain. Check out the photos after the jump! |

The BotCon webpage just updated with very big news, announcing Frank Welker as their first and featured guest for this year's show in St. Charles Illinois!
BotCon is thrilled to announce that our featured guest for this year's convention is none other than FRANK WELKER, voice of the original MEGATRON from the 1980's Transformers cartoon series. Of course MEGATRON was just ONE of over a dozen characters Mr. Welker has voiced for the Transformers, with his most recent role being that of GALVATRON in last year's live action hit Transformers: Age of Extinction. Be sure to read the press release detailing his appearance at BotCon! How big of a reveal is this?! Read on after the jump for the press release details. |

Play With This Too have shared images of their action figure styled take on Generation 1 Skullgrin, Desolataur, with merely three days left on their Kickstarter program. These images show a 3D printed version of Desolataur, so it's not the final product which will be smoother, but gives an impression of what the final release might be like. There are a lot of images of the prototype, which you can check out on the group's Facebook page - we've attached a few of the best and most insightful here.
Play With This Too is a new third party group, made up of former Hasbro staff and other toy industry veterans including Rik Alvarez and Aaron Archer. Find out more about the Kickstarter campaign here. |

Hasbro's Transformers website has posted the pack-in comics that will accompany the Combiner Wars toys Rook and Streetwise. Streetwise comes with IDW's Transformers #33, and Rook with #34. Sadly the back covers with the full-length bios are not included in the online versions - but the full cover artwork (which looks awesome as always) are there for us to enjoy.

Now here's an interesting entry, and something of a blast from the past. Revelation Records has announced a Record Store Day 2015 vinyl reissue of the entire discography of the 90's era Erie PA hardcore band Shockwave. For those that don't remember, Shockwave was a Transformers themed band through and through, with albums and songs named after Transformers, G1 audio samples, and a band logo featuring a masked Decepticon symbol.
The record is called The World is Ours: The Complete Recordings and is on double clear vinyl 12" in a gatefold sleeve. In a really nice touch, it also includes a clear red flexi 7" that can be used as a tech spec decoder on the album art. This looks like a really nice and certainly unexpected release from this long dormant band. Check out the reveal video after the jump. |

With the news that we are getting a Combiner Wars Wildrider as a repaint of Dead End, now seemed like a great time to share a look at Combiner Wars Dead End!
Dead End is a sports car, and a sharp looking one at that. The robot transformation is actually quite straightforward, but one thing I liked on the transformation was the way the legs rotated around, in a manner that somewhat recalls the style of the original toy's transformation. Robot mode is decent, with a good range of articulation, and big feet mean it is easy to pose Dead End. Special mention should go to the glorious shade of red used, which nicely evokes the deco of the original Dead End. I also liked his weapon, a smokestack. Among a line of toys with huge guns, swords, guns that double up as swords and so forth, it is refreshing to see a character going to battle with what is, essentially, a lead pipe to bludgeon his enemies. Overall, the Combiner Wars Dead End is a decent release. He's solid and has some cool touches. Check out our gallery and see for yourself: Combiner Wars Dead End gallery |

Angry Birds: Transformers Mobile Game was updated today, bringing new characters and new areas to unlock.
Strangely, no official notice was made regarding the update other than the fact that a Bug Fix was done to improve the stability and performance. However, 2005 Boards Member MrByatis is bringing us the information and images from the update. First of all, two new characters are introduced to the game and both of them represented by Stella. One character is Blackarachnia from Transformers: Animated and the other one being Arcee (finally!!!) who was teased for so long on the old Loading Screen. Rovio released two games based on Stella recently and we can assume that this is the reason why Arcee was delayed for so long. Other features include:

Paramount Pictures is launching a cinematic universe around its blockbuster Transformers property that will be overseen by Oscar-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman, Deadline reports. It is stated that the Transformers Franchise will follow a Cinematic Universe, very much like the current Marvel, DC and Star Wars franchises. The series is said to have Sequels as well as Spin-offs.
Mr. Goldsman has worked on famous scripts such as A Beautiful Mind, The Da Vinci Code and I Am Legend as well as the infamous Batman & Robin. "Taking a page from Fox’s incubation of three Avatar sequels and what Disney is doing to revive Star Wars with a sequels and spinoffs, the studio is negotiating with Akiva Goldsman to work with franchise director Michael Bay, exec producer Steven Spielberg and producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to organize a “writer’s room” that will incubate ideas for a potential multi-part Transformers sequel, and come up with potential spinoff films based on the billion-dollar franchise culled from the Hasbro toy line." says Deadline. "The Transformers expansion signals that Paramount is serious about competing with its studio peers when it comes to broadening big franchise properties." says TheWrap. Here is an interesting nugget of news we thought to share with you. Japanese retailer Toynes produces a weekly "top 5" of best selling items, and for the week of March 16 to March 22, the toy topping the charts is Masterpiece Star Saber - and considering that he only came out on 21 March unlike the rest of the chart, this is really impressive.
Of course, it is hard to judge if this surge was down to preorders, or whether this was purely in-store purchases, but in either case, it paints a very healthy picture for Masterpiece Star Saber's sales, and - dare we say - portends well for other fan-favorites getting the Masterpiece treatment down the line. |

TF Yuki has posted on Twitter a larger, more clear reveal of the upcoming Takara Legends version of Generations Leader Class Megatron. The differences from the two include the lack of red on the inner arms, the plastic on the joints being cast in grey rather than red, having the orange, purple, and red chest detail paint apps removed, and also having red paint added to the sides of the torso.

Courtesy of our sponsors TFSource, we have some images of ToyWorld's Corelock to share with you. Corelock is an unofficial Grimlock, and forms the torso of the five-member dino-combiner that ToyWorld is releasing. These images show off Corelock in his fully decoed state - details on release dates and prices are unavailable right now, but based on previous releases, expect him to run for $115 or thereabouts.
Thanks again to TFSource for the heads up - see their preorders for all ToyWorld's products here. |

Ultra Magnus is the Beast Hunters Ultra Magnus, complete with a more show-accurate deco. Both are set to be released towards the end of April.

Vai Brazilian retailer Hobby Brinquedos has posted some new images of the upcoming Generations Cyber 11 Assortment. These are 11 inch figures, done in the style of the Cyberverse figures from previous lines. The figures featured here are Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, who appear to be borrowing a few cues from their Robots in Disguise Legion figures, at least as far as the general transformation schemes appear to go.
While some might gnash their teeth at the simplicity of the offerings, the simplicity would appear to be the virtue in this case - plus the designs look rather cool, and are certainly solid offerings, although we're not sure if they have knees. Check them out, attached to this post. |

Here is something which is particularly cool, that we thought we might share with you. A few years ago when IDW introduced Drift into their comics, one dedicated fan made his own fully transformable Drift out of paper. It was an extremely cool piece of artwork, which attendees of Botcon 2009 in Pasadena might remember seeing entered into that year's art contest.
Flash forward to today, and the designs of this awesome custom have now been made available to purchase for a modest amount. You can now make your own papercraft Drift, or "Racing Warrior" as he is referred to here, who transforms without removing any parts. It's made up of 202 pieces, spread across six sheets. It's what is classed as an "expert" level build, and speaking as someone who saw the original in person, it is an amazing piece once it is fully assembled. Check out more details on Paperformed! |

Earlier this year a rumor of a possible Three-Step Changer Sideswipe was revealed thanks to a toy transformation scheme diagram leak. Today, 2005 Boards Member Nevermore in bringing us a toy listing at Toys"R"Us Iceland, confirming the existence of Transformers: Robots In Disguise Hyper Change Hero Sideswipe.
The TRU listing does not contain a product image but rather placehoder images of Hyper Change Hero Bumblebee, Grimlock and Optimus Prime. It is interesting to see that the transformation scheme diagram Sideswipe sports his mask and we are yet to see if it is true on the final product. |
