Yes it's too bad it took so long for them to acknowledge that the plastic they use is crap. New figures should be better. If only they actually do those new 52 figures or some comic 3 3/4 inch figures.

This made me laugh -- not a putdown to you, friend, sorry. Just the thought, wow these figures really do suck.
How much did you get it for anyway? If it's cheap enough, maybe I'll drop in to my local Gamestops and pick one up -- and keep them mint in the box indefinitely. Anyone see the Multiverse Harley Quinn in stores still? I got a tip that Walgreens carries the line. Called about twenty Walgreens and they had everyone but Harley Quinn. |

I saw her at Wal-Mart once but I think the one here has stopped selling them all together. The last time I was in there I didn't even a tag for them on the shelves.
And I've been to 2 or 3 Walgreens and I've only seen Arkham Knight Batman, Scarecrow, and occasionally Two-Face. |

even if they did the paint was awful on a majority of the ones I found. I finally picked one up and the lack of elbow articulation really limits her. |

The gumby arm are what killed her for me. And I'm not really a fan of her new outfit.
Well they still had "toys" but nothing worth going into that crowded craphole for (and that's putting it as nice as I can). Needless to say I don't enjoy going to Wal-Mart. |

I know she's far from perfect, but I want a 3.75" Harley. This is the best that's out there for now. |

That's what I've got. I'd prefer an Arkham City Harley (or better yet an Assault on Arkham version) but the Injustice version suffices just fine.

They moved the Multiverse figures in some of the stores to the seasonal aisles. Though they did move through a lot whenthey had their 8.99 sale. Especially with the $2 off coupons aiso attached

At only $3.50 possibly for an Injustice set at Gamestop, heck why not. That's practically pocket change.
I've never seen MV Harley or Joker on the shelf of TRU, Walmart, Target or Walgreens in my area, but I admit I never really looked too hard. I just bought the pair together on eBay and only had to spend less than $5 more than I would have otherwise if I had found both in a store. Mostly what I come across recently are Zod, Deadshot and Arkham Origins Batman. I see multiple Zods on the pegs. He appears to be the least popular of the MV line. The face is messed up with many of the Harleys -- misaligned eyes, giving her derpy look. Mine is that way. EDIT: Just checked Gamestop.com. All of the Injustice sets they list are priced at $3.50 (except the Green Arrow / Deathstroke one). None of them are available for online purchase. But perhaps you too can ask for a price-match if you find a set at a store. These include Wonder Woman/Solomon Grundy, Cyborg/Harley Quinn, Flash/Raven, and Catwoman/Doomsday. After seeing those snaps of the new JoKeR from SUICIDE SQUAD, I just had to quickly put this guy together - simple parts swap but I'm happy

Yup.
If I ever get a Black Mask I was thinking of doing the same. |

Nightwing and Flash were decent designs, and their scale fits in with multiverse figs, since I picture them a little smaller anyways. The Injustice Superman figure's existence is difficult to justify because he is so small compared to multiverse figures or even MU figures. Black Adam and Aquaman are also difficult to fit in. |

Soooo no news on any Batman v Superman merch / figures yet? :/
Even without the knee articulation and some sloppy paint apps I still liked the MoS figures for what they were. The sculpts themselves were actually pretty decent.

No news yet. I don't want to jinx things, but we have to consider maybe Mattel will pass on a 4" line for BvS. Hasbro, for example, has an understated 4" line for Age of Ultron, and it looks like there may not be many figures or vehicles for even The Force Awakens (at least initially).
I mention Hasbro because they've been more bullish about 4" than Mattel, yet Hasbro has been pulling back. In the meantime, the only 4" DC figure line coming next are Arrow and Flash from Funko/ReAction. :\ As sad as this may be, the future of 4" DC could be Funko/ReAction and Mattel's DC Evergreen line. There have been a few passable figures in the Evergreen line but their main appeal to me is the custom possibilities. I would be very shocked if there were no BvS figures as this current movie-verse lends itself to action figures far better than the Nolan Batman movies and they all had plenty of merch. Then again with the track record of Green Lantern, Dark Knight and MoS figures still peg warming in some areas maybe thats enough to put them off this time? I still think anything with the Batman name attached HAS to be considered ripe for toy lines. I really hope we dont get the 2.5" treatment for this movie though, hell Id even take the 5 points of articulation over that.

I think part of thr problem with MOS and TDKR were, aside from the low quality of the figures, the lack of variety. In mass retail 2 characters for each line. Look at the secondary retailers. They have dozens of varieties of superman. Where's Faora? Where's Lois?
Why were jor-el and that big guy store exclusives? Green lantern had a good variety of Lanterns. All of whom kids saw for 30 seconds tops. The regular GL, Kiliwog and Sinestro always sold. As for the scale, the dc figures sonfarbhave been 3.75 scale. It's MU thats way oyt of whack. At least one of the Womverine figures clocks in at 6'4" |

Well, it's disturbing if you go through the Ultron figures. I don't typically collect 4" Marvel, but I do check them out in the stores whenever I can to keep up with the trends. And the current trend doesn't look good. There are hardly any 4" figures for the movie, and they appear to all be basic 5 POA. I don't know if there are even vehicles for the 4" figures, but there are vehicles for those tiny 2.5" figs. Then there are the larger figures -- 6" I think, and even larger ones, which are essentially plastic dolls for boys.
We're talking a major superhero blockbuster movie this year, yet there is hardly any 4" support. Hasbro's actions suggest that this figure scale has not been selling well in recent years. (I think I recall coming across a toy industry article reporting on this.) What could this foretell with Mattel, who have been even more stingy with their 4" figures, when it comes to BvS? And their apparent ending of the MV? |

And their apparent ending of the MV? I do expect 4'' to make a return later. Right now it's more of an unloading backstock for awhile to appease retailers and diversify product. Some stores still have the helicarrier from the first avengers movie. Toys R Us still has Ironman 2 figures to unload. Cap 3 is where we might see if this new 2.5'' scale is sticking or if they're going to find a way to filter the 4'' back in. With the large amount of characters incoming between now and Avengers 3, there's going to be a lot of ratios to balance on what to release when and how. The other problem being that retailers don't really support movie lines larger than 2 waves. With the constant refresh coming up though thanks to the movie year announcements, now would be a good time to balance that though across all of them. So personally at least, I'm not worried because in a way this makes sense to boost the market back up on the 4'' for the later movies. Cap 3 and Thor 3 might end up being repacks like Avengers 2 are on the 4'' front, but Doctor Strange, Avengers 3, Black Panther, and Captain Marvel are anyone's guess. Black Panther and Strange I could see doing the Ant-man method of the title character only, but Captain Marvel I hope dives a bit deeper because of Carol's current mainstream popularity and history. Avengers 3 would be the perfect opportunity to bring the 4'' back in a large scale. With 3 being two movies essentially, it'll be easier to mass market several waves across those years. Since it's set to have almost everybody Marvel in it that's appeared so far, it'll also be a great spot for every character that's not been made yet. As for "dolls for boys." That pretty much is how GI Joe got its start. So I wouldn't knock that if I were you. |
