Actor Shia LaBeouf who attended the Tribeca 2015 Film Festival yesterday, recalled the time he worked on the Transformers Live Action Movies. Reporters who attended the event stated that his statement was more of a criticism.
"Bumblebee never sounds real, it's just a f—ing name. The name alone you can never make real, no matter how much you put into it, because on the other side, you have a director who doesn't believe it either. So when you work with certain directors who give over and do something that's presentational and you both believe it, then there is no f—ing around, and you really are in this alternate universe." Oscar Fung on Facebook has posted our first in-hand look at the upcoming Combiner Wars Legends Groove figure, who can combine with his fellow Protectobots to form Defensor's chestplate - though unfortunately we don't see that feature demonstrated in this photoshoot.
Check it out after the break to see him in robot and vehicle modes, along with a group shot of him with the other Protectobots! |

An interesting article has popped up on the Digital Signage Today. The article explains the technology behind the Colombian Transformers: Age Of Extinction Digital Signage Projection; which displayed Transformers related product promos at the Calima shopping mall in Bogotá during the run of the 4th movie.
"LPX worked with projection mapping specialists Big Video, who designed a matrix of six Christie Roadster S+20K (3DLP technology, 20,000 lumens, SXGA+ resolution) and two Christie Roadster S+10K-M (3DLP, 11,500 lumens, SXGA+) projectors. Two S+20Ks were used to cover each side of the façade with the main part divided vertically into two areas, each one covered by one S+20K and one S+10K-M. The video screened on the façade lasted seven minutes and contained fragments of the movie and promotional contents from the sponsors (General Motors, Hasbro, Oreo, Paramount and the Calima shopping mall). The projection mapping display played four times each night over three days, drawing an average of 350 spectators per show." A recording of the Digital Signboard in action is available for you to watch, after the jump. |

We have news of a highly anticipated addition to the Legends-class War in Pocket line from third-party producer DX9. Posted on weibo by user ToysHome, DX9 has released prototype pictures of their attempt at a miniature Devastator.
So far this is only a partial reveal as the only figures that can been seen are the upper torso and arms of Devastator with the legs conspicuously missing. One thing to note is that this project appears at first glance to incorporate the combiner kibble into the figures for a non-parts-forming combiner. It's unknown what the price point or anticipated release date will be for this project, but DX9's previous Legends-sized releases have been in two-packs, so it's not unreasonable to expect the same here, although a gift pack release is possible as well. Make the jump to our boards to discuss this fun-sized project. |

Word comes in from our friend griffin-of-oz of Ozformers that the Australian release of the Rescue Bots Season 1 boxset has been altered to remove it's full season line up and instead offer a curated collection of episodes. The set is now called the "More Than Meets The Eye Set". He states that it was most likely due to price point issues with the retailers. Genetic of TFND continues to provide us with early in-hand images of exciting new figures. Today we are treated to an in-depth collection of Ultimate Edition Jetwing Prime in all his glory.
This figure features additional paint apps, tinted windows, semi-articulated hands, a mini Allspark Cube, an entire armory of weapons including: knuckle-busters, Energon swords and hooks, Buster rifle, Striker cannon and more. As a bit of a Leader Prime aficionado, I can say that this figure looks to hit all the sweet spots with a plethora of accessories and a top-of-the-line paint job (minus the missing pinstriping). If you don't have a Leader Prime in your collection, this looks to be the one to get. Ultimate Jetwing Prime is scheduled to be released on April 24th. Secure your preorder for this guy from one of our site sponsors before you miss out: BBTS TFsource Robot Kingdom |

Hasbro held their 2015 Q1 Earnings Conference Call few hours ago and they have done well thanks to Transformers (from Boys Category) and My Little Pony (from Girls Category).
"Additionally, 2014 had two very significant motion pictures in the summer months, Transformers: Age of Extinction and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Both of these films benefited from shipments in the first half of last year. In 2015 there is a tremendous film slate we are supporting, headlined by The Avengers: Age of Ultron in theatres on May 1st and Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18th. These release dates are spread across a greater period of time versus last year’s concentrated timing of summer releases. There are also several other notable films this year, including Jurassic World on June 12th, Ant-Man on July 17th and our own Jem and the Holograms on October 23rd." "Finally, revenues grew 74% in the Entertainment and Licensing segment. This strong performance was the result of growth in lifestyle licensing revenues for Hasbro Franchise Brands, notably MY LITTLE PONY and TRANSFORMERS, as well as the contribution of a multiyear digital streaming deal for Hasbro Studios programming." During the Q&A session, Hasbro CEO thanked the Transformers Franchise and stated that Transformers saw the fastest growth in the last quarter. You can find more information regarding Hasbro's 2015 Q1 results after the jump. Selected slides from the presentation are attached with this news post as well. |

Hasbro held their 2015 Q1 Earnings Conference Call few hours ago and TFW2005 attended the event as usual. One of the best statements came during the Q&A session. Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner confirmed the Transformers Cinematic Universe and the possible release year for Transformers 5.
"Our plan with the studio and filmakers you may have heard some writers being hired and we have in fact brought in Akiva Goldsman to lead a group of writers to really create a strategic plan around Transformers. We think there are any number of stories to be told from the brand that has been around for 30 years with amazing canon and mythology. We would expect the sequel to the Transformers movie [TF4] to happen in 2017." Stay tuned with TFW2005 for the best and fastest Transformers news... in the world! |

Woah! Look what we have here. That's right, today is the 15th anniversary of TFW2005. Why today? Well, TFW2005 had a slow running start, evolving from a simple Angelfire page, to a sub-hosted front page with music and Car Robots episodes from Japan, then to a forum, and it grew from there to what it is today. April 20th was the first day of the first version of the 2005 Boards, so we count that as the day TFW2005 was born. And that was 15 years ago, today. That image attached is the only copy of what V1 TFW2005 looked like way back then, an incomplete internet archive rendering of it. If you remember that, you are officially OG.
A lot has happened in that 15 years. Transformers turned 20. Then 25. Then 30. Four billion-dollar movies have been made. We've seen the figures evolve and return to being a top boys brand. We've seen beasts and Mini-Cons, new comics, new TV shows. Epic video games retelling Cybertron's origins. We've seen this community grow from 10 people joking more about the ridiculousness that there WAS a forum to talk about Transformers online, and that I was running it (2 of those other 9 people were my post college roommates) - to almost 75,000 members. 11 million posts, 860,000 threads. 17,000 news stories. All just going back to 2003 (we had a hiccup). I could spout on and on about memories and such, this post would turn into a book. So I'll keep this short, hit us on the boards and everyone can walk down memory lane together. I would like to say though - I deeply appreciate everyone here. I am blown away by the fact that this place is still here and strong all these years later. My life has taken a weird winding path because of this place, this hobby and this brand. And I'm grateful for it all. The regular members, the causal fans who just pop in and check news. The old heads who remember when this place started, the younger folks who came in because of the movie. The folks that signed up yesterday. The Mods, Admins, Newsies and Contributors of all types, past and present. Especially them. YOU make this place what it is. You are the only reason this place is still around 15 years later. So long as you keep coming, we'll do our best to keep this place going for another 15. We'll continue to adapt and change, transform if you will, to keep this place fun and relevant. To make sure we all have a chill spot for after work, after school, when the kids go to bed - a place to be with like-minded folks and enjoy our hobby. We have some things planned for later in the year which should set us up for the next phase of TFW2005. New tech, new coat of paint, and more. We hope you'll join us on the ride. Until then, see you all on the boards. WORD! |

Thanks to TFW2005 boards member osenator, we have our first look at some in-hand images of the Generations Cyber 11 Optimus Prime. For those that may have forgotten, these are 11 inch figures, done in the style of the Cyberverse figures from previous lines. Unfortunately it is confirmed that this Optimus Prime does not have knees.

We've shared with you the individuals in the Combiner Wars line - and today, we bring you the big guns! The Generations Combiner Wars line's first two waves bring us updates of two iconic Generation 1 combiners, Superion and Menasor - and they together form this latest gallery update.
The Combiner Wars gestalts are huge. They dwarf even current Leader class toys when they are fully assembled, and possess a full range of motion. It's not perfect - Menasor in particular struggles a bit with the weight of two extra robots up top, and both have issues balancing in some action poses - but it is amazing to see Hasbro step up and bring us something like this, when just a few years ago it looked like the best we would see would be the Power Core Combiners or the likes of Fall of Cybertron Bruticus. Both have some really nice details worked in, too. Check out our galleries of this pair of awesome giants - and stay tuned for more gallery updates soon. Combiner Wars Superion Gallery Combiner Wars Menasor Gallery Don't forget our sister site Toyark is running a contest where you can win some cool Combiner Wars goodies for sharing your own Combiner Transformers photos on Instagram - find out more here! |

IDW has released a preview of the new issue of Transformers: Windblade, hitting comic stores tomorrow. The preview does not feature any more pages of content compared to the iTunes preview we previously saw, but you can check out the recap and roll-call (which amusingly refers to Prowl's function as "Prowl", you know you're on to something when you can only be described in terms of yourself... )
That being said, we do also have the alternate covers to this issue to share with you, including a very nice retailer incentive cover showing Superion in flight. There's also the subscription variant cover, which shows Prowlastator bearing down on a wounded Defensor (who is shown in the Transformers #40 sub cover, the two combine to make a larger piece of art) Check out the covers, and the preview, attached to this post. |
