Star Wars Death Star Space Station Playset Vintage Kenner 1978 | eBay
So I just watched the review of the Avengers Tower.....I'm so glad I grew up in the era of the Star Wars Death Star for 3.75 figures....this thing AVT looks so flimsy and the figures are crap !!!!!!!!!!!!! I would love for someone who does get it to make a two/three part printout of the tower...im sure i could make something that works for the inside...maybe a 3ft high bookcase from a yard sale ....hmmm Last edited by samsson37; 04-21-2015 at 12:05 PM.. |

say whaaaaaa...... 2.5" on the Helicarrier??? Now that IS interesting. Could even customize the little ones with MEGA BLOKS figures maybe?
Anyway 3 or 4 new tiny Quinjets would look ace on the SUPER Helicarrier from SDCC. Oh no, is this what we are reduced to? All kidding aside i would love some pics of that action though!

three dee mate....three dee! They spent enough money on special shots to feed all the children in Africa for a year. It is the least we can do, watch the final shots in 3D...it is for the kids!
Yeah 3 times...once with a buddy, once with me and my boy and then we said a long time ago we would go with with his mate and his dad when it comes out. 1.The night one will be all nerds 2.The day one on Thursday will be mostly empty with single seaters watching while skipping work and school, AND a life long memory with my 9 year old son! 3.and Saturday will be PACKED with lots of kids, so plenty of ohhs and ahs from the audience and laughter. Three totally differnt cinematic experiences. Three totally different reasons to see it. Anythiong to help a Marvel Studios film knock Titanic off the top spot for money made i will gladly help out!!! But if you see it once then 110% see it in 3D Going to TRU tonight (because the wife needs to go to Ikea and they are beside each other) to see if we can score a movie Scarlet Witch...want those effects bad! Sorry to just talk about the film so much, but if there were more (read better) toys available in our scale for the film i would be talking about those! That said, i still want the 3 piece Stark Tower playset from the 2.5" line.....just want to wait for to go half price! It will never top (Titanic) thought the top earner was Avatar?? Due to the revenue from 3D. Anyway I said it when the 1st plans we're laid out in phase 1 that lead up to the Avengers, if done right that movie had the potential to be the No 1 movie of all time, well it nearly got there. Sounds daft as much as I love the 1st one its probably my least favourite (after Thor) of the 1st phase movies, just a bit too colourful and comic bookyfied. Don't get me wrong I didn't want it to WB/DC dark and serious but a little bit less Apple Pie if you know what I mean. Don't get me started on any type of movie as I see myself as a bit of a buff (only kidding but you know what I mean) not wanting to start any movie review wars here. Marvel and Marvel Studios rule |

So smaller figures work out great for that. Still miffed at the low articulation though. Wish at minimum they matched the Transformers human alliance articulation. Going all the way to matching the current megablocks halo/COD mini fig standard would rock though. I'm still hoping with the MicroMachines brand coming back, that they make some marvel vehicles for it. Those will look fantastic on a helicarrier. I've got the old school Blackbird back from when Galoob did them way back when and it looks absolutely phenomenal on the SHS helicarrier. Still haven't picked up the Avengers movie one(waiting on clearance prices locally, they're still going for 60 at walmarts here that have them in stock still). Could you imagine a Stark Tower print out on the front of the Death star !!!
I just got Shanna in the mail. I have to admit She's a pretty solid figure..not sure where she would fit into my universe. The head sculpt is sweet. I kind of wondering if a head swap with Physlocke's head and a paint job make Shanna look more like a she-devil. Cause the Shanna head and Physlocke body is defiantly about to be Viper (oooooh Kdub !!! ) lol |

Very few carry them. My friend found Bishop & Black Cat for me at one. None of the stores around me carry them either. They don't even have AOU figures.

Went to the midnight french premiere of Avengers 2 last night...
No spoils I promise! I just hope they will release the "complete" version of the Hulkbuster in 3.75"!! Another thing about the movie: I'm not very fond of 3D in theaters, but A2's one was great. Nice depht sensation, and no headhache! Although don't seat in the first 5 rows, it's much more action-packed than the first one!

I posted about this yesterday, the guys a cock, also after watching the London premier panel he seems he only has interest in playing the part because it was offered to him and the money was good. He made the statement "I don't read comic books" when someone asked him a question with an air of why would would do that. I'm only saying it as most of the other comic book movie actors genuinely seem to love what they are doing in terms of what that character means to everyone, where as with Renner its just another paycheck. Most actors, whether playing Ronald Reagan, John Lennon or Superman would do some research into their character. As well as at some level respect the friends, family and or fans of said character. He is just a man, and it is just his job. That said he did come across as a tosser, even in the rest of the interview he was like the kind of guy you would NEVER have a pint with no matter who you are.

I don't know, I recently had a conversation similar to this with my brother in law. I could definitely see too much knowledge of the comic continuity of a character screwing with an actor's ability to represent the MCU version of the character. Lets face it the MCU Hawkeye is not even close to the comic version! I could just imagine some uber fan-boy actor going on set and bitching that the writers need to alter the script to let everyone know that Hawkeye was in the Circus, and they need to bring him in as a Villain, and show his path to redemption, or complain that the costume needs to better represent his classic look. I'm just saying most of our favorite heroes and Villains have been around longer than most of us! I could just imagine Hugh Jackman walking off the set of XMO, because wolverine is NOT Sabertooth's brother!, or Chris Evans getting angry because Bucky fell off of a Missile, not a train! not everyone grew up reading comics, I'm sure Renner researched his roll a bit, but I could definitely see benefits to bringing in a fresh un-biased perspective,, especially on a project as big as MCU where your really building a whole new continuity as apposed to being stuck with 75+ years of other writers work to tip toe around. Also, of course he's doing it for a paycheck! they all are. no one gets into a multi billion dollar film franchise for the fun of it. I'm sure when RDJ's contract comes up he's not going to say "I just love the character and the fans so much I'll do the next three films for free". and as far as I can tell he's probably the coolest and most down to earth one of the bunch.

^^^^^^ This
My only complaint about Hawkeyes "persona" is Clint is kind of the lovable loser everyman type...and in Renners portrayal he's just.....stiff...even when he was "normal" in the 1ST Avengers movie ..his quips with Black Widow, just didn't come off ..natural. |

Hawkeye in the comics can come off as a jerk, maybe he is just still in character
I can't wait to see it, I'm taking my 5 year old son, was gonna take my 3 year old daughter but I'm not sure she will sit through it. 3D in recliners, but I prefer imax when shot in 70mm. I remember when Avengers came out I stopped at target right before and found a gambit/ mr sinister 2 pack, I didn't have time to pay so I did a d bag move (sorry) and hid it in the store and came back after the movie and bought it. Killed me that I never did find the DP/taskmaster 2 pack. Also free comic book day May 2nd! |

Ok UKMU and whoever else, after seeing last night's Agents of SHIELD, I think Bakshi needs to join my Hydra army. I've got the body - the old Face figure from the A-Team movie, but what head? Suggestions?
Here's a reference pic for those who don't watch the show: Sunil Bakshi - Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Wiki Last edited by Jay West; 04-22-2015 at 10:01 AM.. |
