Thor on the other hand is a mixed bag. You have half his fans who hate his classic helmeted look, and half who don't. Plus as mentioned, the practicality of it doesn't quite work either with how easy it would fall off whereas Loki's is a full helmet. Ironman they do enough in Armor shots that it can slide, but his face plate lifting is also to remind you that yes he is in his armor. (Especially after IM3 with the VR guided armor.) Cap on the other hand has a lot of deep thought put into it. It varies depending on need. Like with AoU when it's strictly him vs a bad guy it stays on. When he's needed to actually relate and keep people calm etc. It's removed to allow for that more personal human to human connection needed for crowd control. (In the first Avengers film, it stays on more often because it's New York and he represents all that's good with America. In AoU, there's a spoiler point I can't mention, but also explains why the opposite is true for this particular mission.) The same happened in Winter Soldier. He removes it in the Batroc fight to show that more man vs man aspect. The fight became more about personal skill than about representing what he stood for. Then the rest is a mixed extension of that from doubts of what he's being made to represent now all the way until he decides to go classic suit which kind of represented a more back to what he remembered captain america used to stand for alongside other reasons. There's actually a lot of praise that can be given to the various directors for their choices on when and where to unmask Cap if you pay attention to the surrounding details. It's to help let the audience see the distinction between Captain America the icon, and Steve Rogers the man behind the legend. Last edited by Snowflakian; 05-03-2015 at 10:49 PM.. |

I think it is more personal when Cap takes it off. Also, Thor is played by, literally, the sexiest man alive (the worlds view not mine) and to put him in a pointless shinny cap seems redundant. Also you look cooler without a helmet. Ever see James Dean wear one on his motorcycle?
@3233raf is it JUST the stickers, the numbers are all the same? @Samsson that was a great little clip Gonna try to take some cool Fantastic Four shots today. It is Bank Holiday Monday here and everyone is enjoying a three day weekend. Going on a family picnic later and might sneak the crew, the Fantasicar and some baddies along for some scenic photo fun!...... Weather permitting, it is England after all and our national bird is rain.

^ UKMU, It's just the sticker. Someone else had asked me that question a while back so I did check. I was also asked why do I consider those figs variants and I responded, "I think it has to do with the fact that family dollar actually had 2 exclusives (made by Hasbro). Otherwise a sticker from any other stores would be insignificant unless Hasbro made them exclusives."

Is that thing rare? I've thought about tossing mine a few times because it's so bad articulation wise, but maybe I shouldn't. |

Great deal n great figure!!! Some folks bag on him, I like him. He isn't really articulated but then again with that sculpt I am not sure how they would have managed it.

The same way they managed it with the cartoon Hulk, and the Hobbit Goblin King. Diaphragm joint under the tits, knee articulation under the thigh fat, elbows under the bicep muscle/fat and then swivel wrists. Easily done by Hasbro, but they had no intention of it - two packing a figure a lot of us wanted as the action feature one.
I was going to get another Goblin King to make into a Blob - give him a repaint and some hair sculpt and he'd be a goodun |

My 2 cents....The XMO Blob is really good.
Same articulation as the Toybiz one Samsson posted, but much more detailed. I get that it isn't very possable, but it is Blob?!?! how many poses do you think he does? Sit, Stand, Eat lol. Also since he is more or less a statue with movable arms and head, it is really easy to create fight scenes with him and he doesn't fall over. He has been "throwing" Multiple man in my collection for almost a year now. |

I love his look! Hate that ham and turkey accessories Blob. In my opinion we often get too hung up on points of articulation, he isn't Spider-Man or Beast or someone like a gymnast. I am 100% with Dubious on this one.....
Watched that video again... I see new stuff each time I see it! I love that that very Doom is here in our collection now! Made a trade and now the central figure of that awesome setup in central Indiana leads our Doombots here in England. We have taken that Doom many places, even to see AoU. He has a good home here Dubious. I have another Doombot coming from Pilkster in a few, after he paints up some mini Mandroids. I will take new pics of the Doom and his crew then. Something on location outside with the castle playset. I can find something medieval here in England near us to look a little more Latverian. That is gonna be my new thing.... Outdoor shots with stunning backgrounds.

Funny that I equally like both Blobs - Toybiz and XMO, both have similar size and (lack of) articulation, just different costumes.

Or a turkey leg upside your dome! I saw one of those old x force blobs a few months ago at an LCS and passed, then changed my mind. When I went back it was gone. Both of those blob figures look kinda meh to me.

I've been thinking of grabbing one of the Nimrods from the Toy Biz X-force line and doing a slight repaint on it, considering the high unlikelihood we'll be getting one in the MI line any time soon. anybody have any ideas on how to improve the articulation on him? I've never held one in my hands so I don't have a clue what he's put together like.
also while were on the Toybiz nostalgia kick, I miss "battle damaged" figures! am I the only one? If they ever decide to make some in the MI line my top three would be Wolverine, Spiderman, and probably a toss up between Cap, with a broken shield, or Iron Man. Hell the way articulation is going in this line we'll probably get adimantium covered dead Wolverine in the next wave. P.S, Has everyone seen the new Secret Wars variant covers with modern characters as 80's Secret Wars figures? If they actually make those I'm going to be all over that. I love me some Secret Wars!!! I am all about old school uniforms. Speculation time.... When the MI line shifts to Secret Wars theme..... Who do you think we will be getting? I am sure we will get key repackaged figures from the 2 packs.... But who else?

For Nimrod's classic form and 90s X-Force form, he doesn't really need much articulation. If Hasbro does one, I hope they do the Ultimate version that's a bit more streamlined and can be articulated. Or Bastion would be nice. He's basically only a plain buck like the commander Rogers/Jim Lee Cyclops buck, and a new head. All his details can be done by painting them on. Ultimate Nimrod can be done using one of the ironman bucks with new shoulder armor, new upper legs, and a new head. Also, really surprised they haven't done Domino yet using the Agent Helix head and Avengers movie Black Widow buck. GI Joe heads are compatible to that buck as the con exclusive Maria Hill showed us. UKMU is this official news? I'm assuming you are meaning because of the rebooted Marvel Universe Secret Wars comics? is this the route what the infinite line is going down?

1. Avengers
2. X-Men 3. Spider-Man 4. Secret Wars This was the "focus" of the line when it was rebranded into its current form. That is the order they announced and it seems to so far be following it rather close.
