I didn't get to go shopping on Black Friday, but I did get Sorceress Veena, Queen of Grayskull in the mail.
Hero Mashers were something I told myself initially that I don't need, but they just keep getting better and my resolve is weakening. |

Nice! Have the hairdryer handy if you intend to open a NECA Superman.

Thanks! Lol, yes...I was very careful opening them up because of that. So far they're holding up good and my boy already used them for a bit. Sup and Joke look good...I'm a little worried about the bat as he just feels a little tighter than the other two.

One thing I wanted to say to you fellow Arkers...if you ever have the opportunity to get a hold of an S.H. Figuarts figure of your choice, do so. It's not until I started collecting DBZ that I discovered these type of action figures. The best way to describe them is to say that they are a different "breed" of toy and I mean that in a good way. You have to hold one in your hands to understand what I'm trying to say here. I have bought DBZ, Naruto, Marvel and now DC SH Figuarts and I have to say that they are the best action figures I've ever had. They are not kid friendly as I notice some of the edges are very sharp and if played with roughly, they can come apart easily, but, if you're an adult collector who wants to display them loose, then, they have no comparison IMO.

^ Correct. This figures are way too expensive compared to the usual brands we buy like Hasbro, Mattel, etc... I'm sure some figures have it's flaws like you mentioned. This figs are no doubt meant for an adult collector who wants to display them loose. The figures that I've bought so far have been excellent and we have played with them too. We get an occasional fall of the shoulder pads but overall nothing to be alarmed of. I don't let my kids play with them alone, so, only when I'm with them we use them to play. Wish they would be more accessible.

I most definitely concur with Raf on this. My Naruto and Sasuke are amazing figures and I will definitely be adding Minato and Kakashi to my collection. It is pretty obvious that Hasbro is starting to take a page from Figuarts and other manufacturers with the inclusion of things like extra hands. The price can definitely be a bit steep for a 4" figure but savvy shopping can usually net good prices. I am still debating whether I want to buy into the Mario figures. They have some environment sets for them that are pretty cool too but they run about $25 each. I would love if the Figuarts stuff was all 6" so I could do goofy cross world battles with some Legends.

I would also like to concur with Raph. My MonsterArts Zillas and Wolf Predator are among some of my favorite pieces in my collection. I wish that Figurearts made a greater variety of figures in general, (for example, I'd like to see some Marvel figures outside the MCU, or if they have to be cinematic in nature, I'd love to see some figures from other franchises like the X-men, Fantastic 4 or Spider-man franchises) otherwise I would just start buying from them exclusively.
Here's what arrived today, courtesy of some great Black Friday deals I found on ebay... For those of you wondering, the music that plays with the new CVG Jason is the "cabin theme". The music however might not actually play when you first open the flap. In the case of mine, I actually had to open the box, slide the tray out so that the sensor inside the box was exposed to sunlight (I believe it is solar powered) at which finally the music started playing. It plays loud and clear, and I've had no problems with it playing since. Unfortunately, there is no on or off switch to turn the music off other than closing the flap, so displaying this with the flap open is not possible unless you want the music constantly playing and are willing to burn the batteries (which do look replaceable though, so that's a plus.) Still though, it's a really neat gimmick by NECA and I'm glad to add it to my Jason collection. |

Here's my current display...(along with a few Freddys...) In addition to this, I have a few more figures (Funko/Revoltech/Mezco/NECA MEGO etc) and hockey masks (as well as undermasks) not shown here, along with a few books, posters, and T-shirts lying around the house. There's also the costume which I wear to local cons and shows, along with another one that I've just started working on... Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 11-28-2015 at 09:54 PM.. |

Took about a month to get to me, but I FINALLY got my prize: a lot of Palisades Muppets figures from Ebay! for 200 bucks, I got:
Janice (silver shirt) Floyd Pepper Statler Waldorf Vacation Pepe Scooter Animal (Collector's paradise version) Considering Statler and Waldorf by themselves are usually 100+, I think I made out pretty well! (also snagged a regular Sam the Eagle for TWELVE BUCKS!!!) It's a good time to be a Muppets fan!!! |

Thanks Raf. I do have that small shelf space that I've shown before, but it doesn't show everything, as I've quickly run out of room, plus I have a little terror just short of a year old (who happens to be named after Tommy Jarvis and Jason Voorhees) who is currently reaching for anything he can get his hands on, so I've had to put some stuff away lest they topple off the shelf and attack him. Most of what I have Jason wise is action figures, and various other items, but I'll admit that I don't collect everything with a hockey mask on it...lol. I also don't have any bag headed representation of Jason in my collection outside of the NECA reboot figure, but that's mostly because I was never really a fan of that look, along with the fact that many of those figures have ballooned to some pretty outrageous prices, not to mention 4part 2 ranks pretty low on my list of favorite Friday the 13th films.

It's awesome the way Figuarts will package accessories for a figure with a different character later in the series, like they did with Krillin and 18. That's some incredible attention to detail, letting you recreate specific scenes. |
