@SymbiSpidey
It's weird that Hasbro has no real incentive to 'unnaturally' create rare figs, but they do it with great aplomb. Beyond deliberate, the process feels practiced. I mean, maybe there's an over-all 'heightened interest' angle for short shipping a fig, but I really don't get it. A fig should only be hard to come by if it's literally flying off the shelves. Hopefully, Hasbro will redo them and sell them as a pack...the way they should have done it to begin with. Any team of four (U-foes, Frightful Four, etc) should be distributed in a pack...one shot. @boy blunder Yeah, at that weight, Storm would be fighting to get out of bed...let alone, fighting Sentinels. lol Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 02-06-2016 at 01:17 PM.. |

Except for Spider-Man, I haven't read anything that featured the 2099 cast since the first few issues of their series. My favorite of the lot was Doom while I thought Ravage was the worst. The last issue I read of Ravage was when he was mutated or something. Doom seemed to just disappear and I couldn't really get into the X-Men stuff, but I dd like a few of the characters. Never read the Ghost Rider or Hulk series though.
My recommedation try the secret wars planet hulk, old man logan, future imperfect, and X-men '92 series was good, also renew your vows was great. They pulled the black costume back out. I also read the ghost racers, age of ultron vs marvel zombies. While they were ok, they didn't do anything enough for me to recommend them to anyone. Back on topic went Cap wave hunting again at another TRU, and once again came up empty handed.... i have now lost all faith at trying to find legends ar any TRU location.. |

@Nitelife
Sure she could, provided she could even hold her head up or stay conscious given how emaciated she'd be a 127lbs and 5'11" LOL They're right, that weight is nuts... |

I was at my comic shop today to pick up the final issue of Secret Wars and picked these up:
I was thinking about buying the DareDevil Typhoid Mary book they had as well, but Amazon has a lot better of a deal than they had. Sadly, it doesn't seem like they have done anything with Morbius, Doctor Strange, or Ghost Rider in the Epic Collection. Oh yeah, so I read Secret Wars 9 and it left me quite luke warm on the series. I really enjoyed issues 4-8, but the ending seemed like a rushed cop out. I'm not even sure what the whole point of this event was because the ending seems to just say that everything is status quo aside from Miles hanging out with Peter even though they already did that in Spider-Verse. Finally, my TRU got 3 more cases of the Cap wave instock.

HONESTLY!!! I am always saying these stats are crazy
Ive read actually a bulk of secret wars books and the minis have all been a ton of fun, where as the main story was garbage. X-Men 92 and Angela 1602 and even Weirdworld were fantastic and weirdly very Meta, I'd recommend them to anyone. Guardians of Knowwhere, Star lord and Kitty, E is for Extinction, A Force, Inferno, Moodok Assassin and Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars were all very, quick, somewhat self contained reads. They're a nice change of pace from usual all too connected universe with the giant shadow that SHIELD has cast on the books in the past few years. |

Man...I knew nothing of the Wrecking Crew other than the fact that I used to kick the hell out of them in Marvel Ultimate Alliance back in the day, but now they are kicking the hell out of me, as they look pretty sweet in that photo, and I'm finding myself wanting them more and more each day. I can't believe I passed on Thunderball as many times as I did back in the day...sigh...

Both Iman and Grace Jones are very tall for models and they stand at 5'9". Any taller and we're talking about WNBA status...Storm has never been portrayed as being that tall. I won't hazard to guess what their (Iman & Grace) weights are, but I'm sure it was far less than 130lbs. I only bring up 'models' because in my experience with X-books they often alluded to Storm having the look and grace of a model (FYI that's not my ideal for her, but what was suggested in stories). However that wasn't my point, my point was that the 'official' heights of female heroes aren't as uniform as you implied...more quick stats:Sabra 5'11" - 240, Sersi 5'9" - 140lbs, Sif: 6'2 - 425lbs...
I hope there's a new Black Widow figure in the works based off the Chris Samnee design

^^ Yes, yes, and triple yes! I wasn't too fond of the large bracers at first, but now they add to the design. These new duds (and her short hair) is practical and realistic, I love it, and the new series is easily at the top of my pull list after Waid/Samnee's stellar run on DD.
Also, I wish Hasbro would take a note from all of John Christopher Tyler's figure variants. Multiple heads and accessories galore! Edit: Nothing says cooler than explodo-jumping out of the damn Helicarrier. Give us a figure of her please, Hasbro. Last edited by VonPooten; 02-06-2016 at 05:56 PM.. |

I always thought of Grace Jones as Storm in the flesh growing up, then years later Angela Bassett. Definitely when Paul Smith or Marc Silverstri were drawing Storm she looked completely model-esque.

Went out looking for Mockingbird and Spider-Gwen. Someone snatched up the Gwen at a local Walmart, and I saw no signs of the Red Onslaught wave at TRU. Live to search another day.
I'd vouch for all those, except Future Imperfect just because I didn't read it. I'd recommend A-force, Siege, Thors, and Weirdworld. Weirdworld would have to be one of my favorite side-stories from the entire event. |

IMO, from a larger point of view Secret Wars is a reinvigorated and paralleled modern version of the classic Secret Wars event, but at its core it is a Reed Richards/Victor Von Doom story. Loved it. |

Yep, the art is amazing and really gives Weirdworld its unearthly life. As for the story, it's about a stranger in a strange land trying to get home. Samurai Jack fans would love it. The story really made me want a figure of a character, Arkon, who I knew nothing about. I wouldn't say no to Morgan le Fay either, though!

Yeah, man. Funny considering how much junk I just talked about these figs, but I really do dig them. I just wish they were smaller. Initially, I wasn't sure about them, but together? Let's put it this way, I'd likely be kicking myself harder than you might be now if I had decided to pass on them...no offense. lol Quote:

This Natasha is how she should look. She actually looks Russian and the retro head is killer! Don't think I didn't notice that Spider Woman you posted as well. Because I know me personally, if I see, for instance, 20 Winter Soldiers on the shelves, I'm probably going to wait on buying it. But if I see 1, and I know a character is hard to come by, I'm more likely to buy it on the spot. Even that doesn't really make all too much sense to me because every wave has its pegwarmers and retailers will just see a bunch of Legends on the pegs and assume that they don't need anymore stock. And that being said, most of their rarest figures are characters in extremely high demand like Storm and Black Panther, so I wouldn't think they'd have a problem getting them to sell. Question, how easy or hard is it to get a Terrax, Masque, Madame Hydra, Armin Zola, and Hydra soldiers at a reasonable price these days?

Let's put it this way, I'd likely be kicking myself harder than you might be now if I had decided to pass on them...no offense. lol Get out of my brain...there are a lot of personal and disturbing things in there as is without people poking around in the dark spots. Hah! Yeah, I started X-books with Paul Smith as a kid and worked forward from there. Silverstri drew my favorite Storm (outside of Byrne) and Colossus. And...Iman, Grace, and Angela were my picks for live-action Storm. Imagine how disappointed I was that Halle was chosen...beautiful? Sure. Storm? Not really. In retrospect, after watching the first season of Gotham, I think I would have preferred Jada to Miss Berry. Now, to the important stuff. Where the hell are you getting these concept figure shits!? This Natasha is how she should look. She actually looks Russian and the retro head is killer! Don't think I didn't notice that Spider Woman you posted as well.

I think it's inevitable that Old Man Logan will have a figure soon enough. new ongoing comic just released, he is now a playable character on contest of champions via mobile phone. he's getting more popular then ever.

Fairly easy I think. I'm watching some on eBay and they would cost me about 30-35usd either shipped from the US or paying higher Australian prices, but the Australian RRP for ML figures is 25-30 depending on the exchange rate anyway. You're in the US so it should be cheaper again. There is a complete Zola for $55usd plus shipping at the moment

@SymbiSpidey I hadn't specifically thought of 'impulse' purchases, but that lines up with my hypothesis of using the short-ship to drive interest in some way. I think that's a silly technique (and when I say silly, I really mean annoying as hell!), but I'm sure they have crunched the numbers and there must be some profit yield for utilizing this method. |
