@EnSabahNerd : I too was on the fence about picking up the Kenner Ripley, but after running into it in person on Alien Day, a bit of nostalgia suddenly took over and I decided to snag it up. [I](Although the knowledge of knowing how insane aftermarket prices get on NECA exclusives later on was also a pretty good motivator.)
Series 10!!! I hope we get Mantis, Gorilla, and Bull early in the Kenner Aliens but I could definitely see Panther/Night-Cougar being early and easy as a mostly repaint of the Dog Alien. I kind of don't want to see the Scorpion alien done too early but I also expect it to be since it was the closest by far to the regular aliens from the movie. I will say that I'm not overly hyped to get many Kenner marines as they were a little too silly in their '90s style with the cybernetic limb attachments and bright/colorful attires with the backwards red caps and yellow shirts that read out "no bugs." Really Apone? Really?! I say this now but watch me get some if they make them.

My latest purchases. Star Wars Rebels, French edition Batman TAS TPB & Disney Lego Minifigures.
It's not usual for me to read U.S comics in french, but this Batman Adventures TPB is very well done, & not very expensive. |

Since I no longer have my original Kenner Ripley figure, this one will probably end up being posed with my original Kenner Aliens...(at least until NECA gets off their butts and starts putting a few of those out!)
A. not an Alien fan B. not a scalper so I left them there along with a ML Spider Gwen and Venom on the pegs. |

I bet members here could use them and you dont have to charge but retail and shipping. They also make great trade fodder.

You're a good person for that. At the same time I am disappointed that you are not an Aliens fan but to each their own.

I've had such a hectic week, that I wasn't able to find a spare second to go pick up Kenner Ripley until this morning.
I thought for sure that I had missed my window of opportunity, and that I'd hate myself for waiting, especially given TRU's spotty track record with NECA products. To my surprise, Toys R Us had 5 or 6 for me to pick from. While I was out, I finally got around to picking up the Pop of the Cylon from BSG, and this Supernatural Dorb. For the record, even as a Funko fan, and as a big Supernatural fan, I think that the idea of Supernatural Dorbz is ridiculous. However, this summer, Funko is releasing Scooby Doo Dorbz, but not Scooby Doo Pops, so I wanted this Dean Winchester Dorb so I could have an awesome paranormal hunting crossover with Dean and the Scooby gang, when I inevitably pick up the Scooby Doo Dorbz

Supernatural only has a small cult following at best, its viewership numbers have dwindled over time down to its current dedicated fan-base and due to the shows it was up against when it started it never attained a massive following. It's one of those shows that gets by with what it has but doesn't draw in more viewers to remedy out those that left. Time has shown how TV shows with only a cult following status aren't highly marketable even when the fans cry out for them to get more merchandise. An excellent recent example is Firefly, that show has a rather decently sized cult following (on the larger end of cult followed shows) yet when Funko put out a series of figures for it they just didn't sell enough to warrant the production (they pegwarmed hard). It almost seems like Funko killed their 6-7" Legacy line by picking multiple duds in a row. Basically it's a huge risk to take on a property like Supernatural since the market is nowhere near large enough to ensure safe returns on revenue over costs with figures that will cost more to make and sell than overly simple little things like Pops or Dorbz.

Like En Sabah Nerd said, the 6" Firefly Legacy figures were an excellent example of how figures from cult TV series often don't sell as well as most of us wish they would. However, smaller, less articulated figures just might be feasible. Since they are far cheaper to produce, Funko won't have to worry about selling an unreasonably high number of units in order to make a profit.

I'm still hoping that Supernatural will be the next franchise in Funko's new 3 3/4" 9 PoA series.

Perhaps a couple DST releases here and there would've worked out well. |

However, that's just not going to happen. Sadly, in this hobby, if you want merch from a specific franchise, sometimes you either have to compromise, or choose to do without.

Really that set is expensive now? My local Hastings has like two or three of that set for only $21.
