Love the weapon. I've pre-ordered this and the rest of the line.
How are the tentacles explained, or is it just a case of 'you know it looks cool' lol. |

I imagine the in-universe explanation behind his "bio-whips" is very similar to the (generally) accepted notion that they mentally control their plasma casters. There was a point when fans thought their masks contained the controls and they used their mandibles to aim and shoot but this is completely debunked by Greyback in Predator 2 who doesn't wear a mask yet is able to use his shoulder cannon, he never actually fires but we have to assume he could have.

Damn after seeing it so many times I never really thought about that in Predator 2.
I was always under the impression that the targeting beam coming from the mask is what controlled it or the wrist computer thingy was involved somehow. But now my mind is just blown and I have no idea. |

I know in the AVP games you (if playing as a predator) saw them doing something with the wrist computer when shooting but the movies definitely don't support this as the means of firing.

Hmm...I almost wanted the stalker, he looked like some sort of fantasy charater, but unfortunately he also have those dreadlocks, sigh. In my opinon, predator design is very lazy, he looks like a jamaican with fishnets and wierd mouth. The mouth is the only part that seems to be put effort in it's design and to be unique. In other words, predator just look like man in a custom wearing a mask...

Heh you can see Freddy Krueger parts in the top right as if it were a bonus tease but they already announced the new Dream Warriors figure so it's nothing to think on.

Well technically Leader isn't a part of series 16 so he might actually be rather easy to pick up. The last time they did something like this was when series 12 co-released with the Bad Blood (also sold as a deluxe like Leader will be) and Bad Blood was super easy to find everywhere I checked as he shipped in his own private case.

I don't understand why it's so difficult to find figures in the states, it's never that difficult in the UK! Do most of you like to check the item in store over online ordering? I could totally understand that.

That Alien head is so odd. Is that just supposed to be just custom-sculpted armor ("yeah, man, I really dig Aliens"), or an actual head of an Alien that Stalker killed and incorporated into his armor as a portable trophy of sorts?

October! FFS, that means it'll be more like early December for UK fans. At the earliest.

I think it's going to depend on how they paint it. I don't think there's an official bio for the original figure. My guess is he wears it like a trophy. We'll know, hopefully, soon with a bio release by NECA.

It's probably worth noting that there's an extremely strong chance that most of this guy's armor will eventually be recycled to make a Broken Tusk figure (not to be confused with the Kenner/NECA Cracked Tusk). He was a main character in the very first AvP comic and he wore an actual Alien skull on his chest as a trophy. |

I'd say there's a huge chance of that, yeah. NECA's on a mission to make any and every Predator ever glimpsed anywhere ever.
Not that that's a bad thing. |

The only thing that I don't like is that the original Kenner face looks like it's yelling and the Neca has a closed mouth. Still will get it if any of the TRU's in Ct get any. hey are sucking big time out here...

Ghost is becoming more and more desirable to me. I was initially trying to hold out for the Ultimate figures from NECA for Jungle and City Hunter, but with Ghost, Stalker, and the series 14 and 15 figures I may have to jump on this sooner than originally planned.
