I wonder what sort of staying power the POPs have? (and man.. I REALLY hate the name. I think that bothers me more than seeing all of the real estate they take up)
Beanie babies didn't last long and started becoming over saturated. We'll see. I know I won't ever be getting any. But right now there are clearly plenty of people who buy them to warrant the amount there are out there, so, the few of us are probably in the minority. |

I can understand the buzz on these things. I even own one and thought about getting a few others. I think the problem at this point is they are so mass produced they aren't going to be worth poop in the long run. Maybe the rare ones but who knows? I have been wrong a time or two. :P |

First, we had my birthday dinner with our friends today so my hauls were this:
Although, that was not all as one of my friends bought me a preorder for Blood & Wine for Witcher 3. Also, these came in today:

With all of the debate concerning Pops lately, I feel the need to chime in.
Personally, I like Pops. There's plenty that I dislike about them, but overall, I'd consider myself a fan. Furthermore, I'm open-minded enough to understand that there are many people who may not understand their appeal. Frankly, there are plenty of things whose appeal I will possibly never understand. For instance, I don't understand the appeal of Power Rangers and Dragon Ball Z. Even as a child I never found the Power Rangers shows entertaining, and when it comes to DBZ, there are dozens and dozens of anime series that I'd rather watch instead. Lol, while I'm on the topic, I also don't understand the appeal of fast food, monogamy, golf, fishing, or Yeti coolers (not sure if these coolers are popular nationwide or if it's a trend only in the deep deep south). But, I don't judge (well, I try not to judge, lol) or criticize those who like these things. To each his own, live and let live, judge not lest ye be judged, etc..... BTW, here's my latest purchase. It came with Disney Infinity figures, so I can rationalize posting it here : I know I'm late to the PS4 party, but, to be honest, there aren't too many games for it yet that I feel like I absolutely have to play (and most that I want so far are just remastered versions of personal favorites). I just really wanted to pick up the exclusive Vader-decoed model before they all disappear from stores.

Not really sure why I bought these, I don't play Halo, but they were on sale and the last the store had, and a know a friend had a hell of a time finding Tanaka for her collection so I bought them.

POPs - Hated them, then I saw Phantom and Jack Burton... now I've also got Bats, Supes, Green Arrow, Deadpool, Wolverine, and potentially Joker and Harley.
Ordered Predator but it's nothing like the pics and looks shit. I really want that Civil War Spidey but it'll need to be a separate release lol. |

I don't know, considering how plentiful they are in every store that carries those things, isn't that a sign that people AREN'T buying them?!?

Listening to the conversation in my local comic store last Wednesday, they are about to start sacrificing other stock to include more of the ruddy things...

I kinda like the pops. I don't collect them (I have 2 from Hannibal), but I like how it's sort of normalizing collecting to non collectors. Like I know people who normally would've turned their nose up at the hobby, who then get into pops, and then it's not a stretch for them to understand why somebody would collect legends or stuff like that.
