Found several Chewy's and several Anakin's at my Ross, case fresh and never touched a peg.
Feels good to actually have this one without paying out the rectum for one. |

Awesome thanks!
He's one of the coolest figures I got in a while. Really getting impressed with their Alien & Predator lines. |

If you haven't picked one up yet I'd recommend an AVP warrior alien from series 7 as it would look great with Scar and is also an amazing figure. One of the worst movies in either franchise has some of the best toys thanks to NECA.

On topic, Red Hood arrived today. I think the figure itself is quite well done as it is just the Arkham Knight body with the Gamestop Red Hood's head. Everything looks nice and the articulation generally allows for some dynamic poses, my only complaint here is that the elbows being single-hinged makes most actual rifle poses difficult or impossible. His only accessory is the rifle and while it's a fine accessory on its own I'm still ticked that this figure was always shown as coming with the rifle AND the two pistols but the final release only has the rifle. I would have preferred the pistols given his limited elbow movement. Overall I do still like the figure and I prefer this design over the Gamestop version where he actually had a hood.

I don't know...I think you're being kind of hard on that figure. While it might not say much in consideration of the rest of the line, I think it's the best figure that Mattel has done in a while. The choice of paints and colors, as well as the apps are pretty good...actually really good. While the likeness bears more of a resemblance to a young Rob Zombie as opposed to Jason Mamoa, the sculpting work on the figure is really well done. It's by no means grade A, but I think it definitely deserves a B+, especially when compared to the rest of his BvS peers.

Best figure Mattel has done? They couldn't even be bothered to give him an ab crunch. That automatically makes it one of the worst.

What I said was that Aquaman was the best of the BvS wave of DC Multiverse figures, which he easily is, waist crunch or not, and one of the best figures they've done in a while (I don't consider Matty Club stuff to be by Mattel, as those figures are club subscriptions mostly and are not widely released. ) Unless you really think sad Batfleck and Travolta Superman were better (although I will admit, that Bat-Creature thing was kinda cool looking...) and if that's how you feel, it's cool. Your prerogative. I don't just dismiss a figure simply because it's missing a piece of articulation, especially when I feel so much else is being done right on it. Ninety percent of the BvS Multiverse figures couldn't even be bothered to come with an accessory, which Aquaman already has them beat at. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 06-24-2016 at 09:58 PM.. |

Didn't say he was the best figure Mattel has done. That award would end up going to a WWE Elite figure (you decide which one) as those figures run RINGS around Mattel's DC stuff.

To each his own but,I'm dismissing all the Mattel 6 inch stuff because they are missing several key pieces of articulation, double knees, double elbows,ab crunch, ankle pivots,it's embarrasing that in 2016 these "action" figures are missing these vital articulation points.Saying that Aquaman is the best of the BvS line is like saying one turd smells less than the others!
I'm not sure what you're trying to hint at...but I still stand by those statements. Compare that Multiverse Aquaman to some of his Mattel peers these past few months. What has Mattel honestly put out that's better? (Again, we're not including their Matty Collector or WWE lines, because WWE Elite figures outclass half the stuff on the TRU shelf today and while I am not a huge fan, I think the MOTUC line is triple A.) -The other figures in the BvS Multiverse waves? No. -Those new Ghostbuster figures? Nope...those aren't better either. -The upcoming Suicide Squad stuff? Eww.... -The upcoming Halo stuff might be better...but I'll reserve judgement until I see the final product, and even then, that stuff isn't out yet. Even so, that makes Aquaman better by default, as my statement said "best Mattel has made in a while," and the Halo stuff has yet to be released. I'm not trying to apologize for a line that is really barebones and leaves much to be desired in the DC Multiverse one. However, with what we've been handed thus far, I just honestly feel like he's the best out of the bunch (and I have a few of them.) The rest can go swim with the fishes. Exactly. Thank you. You get it. =) Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 06-25-2016 at 06:06 PM.. |
