Haha thanks. Yeah I snuck that in there, will pimp it at the end when last fig from wave goes up. Not the cleanest, but I was done fiddling with lights for the day.

Aquaman and Harley are both down right awsome while Superman took some warming up to. He is far from perfect, but better than anything Mattel produced.

She is the first Icons figure I don't feel the need to own. I only want the main 5 CSA members.

Strange that you should say that, because I haven't followed any of the recent stories and have no interest whatsoever in the others, but I'm going to buy this one just because I like her costume, and her figure seems very well designed, and the action figure is well designed too.

I might have to get Atomica 'cause I love me some size-changin' character figs but dang that's some sloppy paint on the smaller ones.

I think Atomica and Harley Quinn are the two best figures of this wave and two of the nicest in the Icons line, I wish PC would hurry up and ship mine.

Considering their diminutive size, I was thinking that the paint is pretty good! Those accessory figures are tiny...
I'd love to see a classic Ray Palmer action figure on the same scale that's at least as well done as this Atomica. Last edited by Skoob; 06-26-2016 at 11:43 AM.. |

Please remember - that Ray Palmer, that smallest one, the head is about the size of a small pea. Or smaller. I know we demand perfection, but the fact they got that detailed that small blows my mind. the Ray Choi one, I didn't think was that bad for a 2.5 inch figure personally.

Anyone else seeing a resemblance between Harley and Amy Poehler?

Harley is such a great figure. There are so many more pictuers I want to do of her, but I want the Icons Joker first. I just wish she came with a gun holding right hand and that alternate head they showed off. Or that they gave her the head with the big smile instead of the grin.

I don't demand perfection at all... if I did, I wouldn't buy Playmates' TMNT or most of Hasbro's 3.75 line.... but when most Heroclix have better paint than that, I would have expected something better than that for higher-end product than a Clix. It's not a dealbreaker... I'm still interested in it just because of what it is, and I can always do a touchup myself.

Yes, could be cleaner, I am always just generally amazed at details on small figs because I can't paint for s***. I'd mess up a 1/6th scale head. |

I suppose this might involve trade secrets, hence not open to public access, but someday I would love to see how the figure manufacturers do some of those great paint jobs that we see nowadays. As a collector, I would find it extremely interesting to tour an action figure production and assembly line. As it stands, we tend to take many details of the end product for granted, but you can tell that a lot of thought and care goes into some of these creations.

I "like" this series, but not enough to "love" it more than DC Universe Classics. But this Harley might be better than my DCUC wave 2(?) figure. So. . .could someone maybe do a side-by-side shot of Icons Harley with DCUC wave 10 (or Batman Legacy) Joker?

It's such a shame the eyes are so weird. Otherwise I would have considered it.
Mezco super expensive figure for me. That and the MAFEX BvS. |

The eyes look fine in person. I'm not sure why they look like they have pink here.
Anyway, Superman was the one figure I was initially disappointed with when I first got him last week, but since then, he has grown on me. He isn't perfect, but I know this isn't the last time we will see him. Nevertheless, the man looks great in any pose you put him in. Yeah, he has the terrible looking gap between his waist and legs, but those disappear in most of the poses you put him in.

It's not just the eyes, the face has weird lines. Doesn't look chiseled either, looks sickly or old. They really dropped the ball with this one. The proto-type was almost perfect but they really screwed the pooch!

Great reviews overall of this better-late-then-never wave 3; the photos really showcase how great this line continues to be. Hopfully we will get some confirmation that there will be more to come at SDCC.
I think my only gripe would be (if I cared about that type of thing) that the scale of Harley is a bit off; she shouldn't really be the same height as Batman... even if it was Greyson Batman. Anyways, can't wait for wave 4!
