I don't know exactly which one is the Thor 'now' version. I have the one that came with the Castle tower top for him to stand on.
i REALLLLLLLLLLLLY wanted that spinning hammer that came with the Disney store exclusive, but not enough to buy another Thor just for that. Hoping to one day run across it loose. I would actually consider getting it if you're even a little on the fence about it. It actually has more articulation than the All father Wave Thor funny enough. And it looks fantastic. |

I dunno i guess i dont ever consider wolverine or thor legacies. Logan is wolverine laura x is x-23. Her taking the mantle really kinda takes away from her own identity as x-23. If anyone else shoulda been wolverine in the normal verse it should been jim hudson from the ultimate verse. Now someone like cap is more of a legacy character than thor. the title of god or goddess of thunder would seem to be more transferable but to take the characters given name and give it to another well its more id theft then legacy ( aka lazy writers not being original or marvel not wanting to shell out cash for a new character trademark. ). Not to diminish whatever story is going on in the comic as bad or good, its just that taking non- legacy character titles and turning them into legacies is lazy and uncreative. Hell SIF woulda made a better Goddess of thunder, or brunhilde the valkyrie and brought an underrated character into more of the forefront. And thor could continued in his own title just without his hammer.
On a lighter note, i still say Nick fury whispered to thor " i saw your internet search history." And i am with yah...we sorely need a new X-23 figure. Theres no redeeming either version of toybiz version. I definitely think Jane Foster is the only character who could have been this Thor (for story reasons, since it's so compelling that her transformation is neutralising her chemotherapy), but I agree they could have conjured a name for her adjacent to Thor's. It would have avoided the controversy, and the story would be the same. On saying that, a LOT of fan mail in the issues are from women and young girls who feel included in the story and emboldened by its message that a woman can be "Thor," so I can't see a negative in that. The only cheap part of that story is, yes, Fury's Whisper Ex Machina. Little do we know, Thor secretly likes knitting! On a related note, an unworthy Odinson would be a great figure for next year's wave. Though yes, ANY form of Laura would be appreciated, and the new skinny adult body is perfect for her. |

I would love to see rick rider back. Sam just doesnt ring home with. I too would like to see thor reclaim his mantle as janes novelty has worn off. Sadly i doubt either will happen in the name of " forced diversity" and lazy creative teams, and probably marvel not wanting to shell out mney for new patents on new characters or whatever process that entailss. I blame bendis
Ideally Richard would come back and remain Nova Prime but he'd order Sam to remain and help protect Earth while he got to work rebuilding the Nova corps. In my perfect fanfic world Rich would be revived by a Death who is grateful he saved Thanos from the Cancerverse and once he's back he maybe still retains some of the juice from absorbing that cosmic cube so even as he disperses the Nova force to new members he still gets to be as super-powerful as he was when he he held almost all of the force. All of this would also bring back the Worldmind which I enjoyed as a companion character.

Not so. Ms Marvel is one of Marvels most popular solo titles, being the first Marvel title to more than double its print sales with digital (usually its +20%) and her trades are bestsellers. Sana Amanat and G Willow Wilson have both been talking about this quite a bit.

Finally got Storm. I need to iron the cape or something and perhaps use a small blob of blutac on the back of her wris to stop the cape bracelt thing from sliding down her arm, but she is a fantastic figure.

Also, congratulations on the Storm acquisition! She's easily one of the best figures Hasbro's released, even without any sculpt detail. |

Yep, and she has a really dedicated fanbase which counts for a lot, Marvel pay a lot of attention to the number of cosplayers and questions about chararacter at cons as well as just sales figures apparently, its one reason Captain Marvel has a higher profile than her sales figures might seem to justify at times. I think the same was true of Hawkeye, very dedicated fanbase.
Thanks, it wasn't cheap and I was worried I'd be disappointed when she got her but no, its a fantastic figure. It shows what they can do with a new head and a smart use of paint.

We can totally blame Bendis for not bringing Richard back. When Nova died at the end of the Thanos Imperative in 2011 it was a grand, heroic death and I was content thinking they'd bring him back in a couple of years, instead they introduced a new Nova who was yet another teen hero. I gave Sam Nova a read though and the character generally grew on me but in my mind I was always thinking "bring Rich back." Then Bendis took over the GotG book which became a hollow shell of what it used to be with DnA but they said he would address what happened to Nova and I was hopeful for an explanation of return. Instead we got this crummy drawn out story where Rich sacrificed himself, again, to save Star-Lord, Drax, and Thanos. When fans complained about it Bendis was all "don't blame me, Abnett and Lanning were the ones who had him die," except that wasn't the point, we already knew he was dead we just wanted him revived and Bendis totally wasted the opportunity to do it.
It's funny you bring up Scorpion. For some reason there are a handful of characters I ALWAYS forget exist when I'm making lists or mentioning absences in the line up. I mentioned a few pages back that Jackal is the only remaining major SM villain missing, of course that's not true because Scorpion is also a pretty big deal, and is much needed. |

I'm not an expert, but that Abomination is not it, folk! Hasbro, you got to do better than that to get my wallet. To me, I will keep my ML Toybiz Abomination and variant. This is the point I was trying to get across to some on this sight. Yes, I'm a fan of ML, but I will not buy every figure because I am a fan and to keep Hasbro's pockets deep...Bump that! I'm no sucker, and and you should not be either. Maybe that is not a legit baf Abomination, but if it is, it is an easy pass...not going to buy something that looks awful...meh!

I realize these are preorders, but most of the X-Wave is up through Amazon for preorder for August 1st release date. It does appear to be direct from Amazon, not a third party seller. $20 at this point in time, not bad.

@AFU
Yup, I agree. It pays to be discriminating in your purchases. It holds Hasbro's feet to the fire and creates a sense of accountability...but damn, I'm so weak when it comes to Marvel figs...I have at least disabused myself of the notion that I must have a wave on day one...it's a start. |

He's the better Nova IMO, what happened to him?
If they can do it with the All New X-Men I'm sure they can with OML. Those things peg/shelf warm like crazy. Especially the titan ones...such a waste material IMO for those things. That was a pretty good story line too... Surprisingly these haven't sold out on Amazon...Either that or they're making a butt load of these figures..Hopefully they list the other ones soon, although interesting that they haven't. |

Random appreciation....
I've no real attachment to the character, but I enjoy the fact that he has a great deal of attention to detail. So strange how some of these c and d level characters get more sculpting detail than many 'heroes' like Wonder Man, etc... |

At the end of the Thanos Imperative (which I thought was a pretty great cosmic finale) he and Star-Lord sacrifice themselves to keep Thanos in the collapsing Cancerverse thus preventing the Mad Titan from immediately wrecking the main universe. Star-Lord and Thanos' return has been explained as Nova combining the cosmic cube and all of the Nova force to make himself a doorway so they could escape, we're still waiting on someone actually bringing Nova back too.
