Kate's one of the key members of the Young Avengers (created by Allan Heinberg and Jim Cheung in 2005), and co-starred in Matt Fraction/David Aja/Annie Wu's run on Hawkeye. She's not MASSIVELY famous, but damn does she have a following (and the same can be said of any Young Avenger, especially Hulkling & Wiccan).

Young Avengers was good, I think I was drawn to it because the first comic I collected regularly was New Warriors and at the time YA was the closest thing to the NW

The more I find out about her, the more I like...never knew she was a Young Avenger, cool! And, excuse me, thought her father was Clint (Hawkeye), but I was wrong, thanks for the info, folks...but, I will definitely be reading more up on her and the other figures from ML line that I have no clue about...Also got a Nick Fury in the mail, he looks awesome and bad to the ass!

Glad to hear you're interested in looking up the characters you're not familiar with, too. Must say I'm far more into the Serpant Society now than I was before Constrictor and Cottonmouth came out! |

Fury is worth picking up - even if you have a Nick Fury, he comes with three different heads, so you can swap a head and have a SHIELD soldier. I definitely recommend. I would post pictures of him if all my figures were not currently in boxes

If you're asking me, you have to get Nick Fury, he is probably the best figure of the bunch, mainly because you get much value with the accessories he comes with, like someone else mentioned on the site, he can be 3 different characters...Black Panther is just a beautifully made figure, and you can see why he is considered a must have when you have him in hand...And, I do have Giant Man, he is also a well put together figure, maybe a shade to small, but I can easily over look that because once you get him in hand, you will fall in love with the detail on him and you will see what I mean, favorite BAF as of late...and, I didn't buy the whole wave to get Giant Man, I ordered all three of the figures on eBay and other online retailers because of the fear that the wave would not hit my area and the scalpers want my scalp but I will not give it to them And as of late, the wave has not hit my area and all the toy sections in TRU, Walmart, and Walgreens in my area look depleted or are still on the Onslaught or Hulk Buster wave...hope you find those 2 figures in the wild...

The costume in discussion is her earlier one: As a character, she's quite awesome. But I can see some of the sense of the plainer one. She's so badass she doesn't need a flashy costume. That being said, it feels wrong that she doesn't have a costume that's better than Clint's. I can see the fact for the Hawkeye comic run itself that she used the tights. That makes sense for the story it told, and the fact she doesn't have so many hanging off spots makes sense too as those could caught on anything with the kind of bad guys she was facing, the locations, and the action, but I do wish they could find a nice middle ground between her costumes. I love the look of the original and how it flows, but I do have to admit that facing one grapple type bad guy and those are choking hazards and grapple points, but the purple tights is almost too "retired jaded superhero" or "newbie superhero that pulled some tights off of a rack at wal-mart" and really isn't enough of her personality to the flair of it. Plus there are entire fitness clothing lines with much more flair than those tights have. |

http://www.marveldirectory.com/pictu...kknightiii.gif But the Black Knight I most want is this: http://static.comicvine.com/uploads/...ack-knight.jpg Along with an 'Avengers-jacketed' Dane I would like a Sersi, Crystal, Monica, and Herc (Monica and Herc sans Avengers jackets, obviously). I'm partial to that era of the Avengers. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 06-29-2016 at 05:36 AM.. Reason: messed up those links pretty badly...lol |

I'd welcome that idea and take a 'classic' Knight. The mold works well for this version (and also a classic Sunfire, which I think we may get):

Maybe it's because I didn't really get into Avengers until that era (I was sole X-related for the first few years of my conversion to Marvel proper), but I really love those looks. Monica was not part of the team proper at that time of course but she was involved in Operation Galactic Storm. And of course, I would not turn down a Monica figure. |

@Nash
Yeah, you're right, Monica doesn't exactly fit given she was sort of a reserve heavy hitter at that point. That period (following Under Siege) was one of constant flux, with heroes jumping back and forth from the east to west coast Avengers and multiple exits from mainstays like Cap/Ironman/Thor/Namor etc. There were a couple I didn't mention from that period like Doc Druid, Gilgamesh/Forgotten One, Firebird, Hank Pym ('red civilian jumpsuit'), and Stingray...just to name a few, that I would love to see get births within the Legends line. Edit: In a way, regarding your alluding to the X-men during that period (and their incredible popularity among readers), I think the X-men book affected how they approached the Avengers. There were so many new mutants appearing on the scene lending a sense of variety and freshness to the book. It seemed almost as if they were trying to create the same phenomenon with the Avengers by adding Eternals, Inhumans, and new heroes. I think it worked to some degree. I know I started picking up Avengers titles during that era as a result. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 06-29-2016 at 07:44 AM.. |

So true..the early 90's core Avengers of that era were, I think, Black Widow, Captain America (on and off), Sersi, Crystal, Black Knight, Vision and Hercules. I think that was the set right after O:GS, but even then, you had Thunderstrike, Hank Pym and Quicksilver showing up the later half of that run, after Sersi and Black Knight left. (I'm basically thinking around post O:GS to right before Onslaught when all the Avengers came together under one title.)
And I agree I think the X-books had a hand in the approach. Before that era, you had the Uncanny X-Men, New Mutants, and X-Factor, all with different casts, and Avengers West Coast, and Avenges proper, all with different casts (though at times they switched out members, the casts were still separate.) As the 90's hit and more X-Books came along, Marvel had to try and make the Avengers follow the same path to success, but they just were not as popular at that time. (Keeping in mind X-Books were Kings of the Comics from the 80's to the 90's). The attempt was made but it just didn't gel, so it felt more disorganized than the X-Books. IMO the Avengers did not have much success in the 90's until the revamp in 1998 (though I did love the aforementioned era, and think it's very underrated, it's true it wasn't successful). Very interesting how things shifted in the next decade... As for figures, I could easily do without a Druid and Gilgamesh (just never cared for those characters) but a Firebird and Stingray would be cool, and I might even pick up the civilian Pym. Who I'd really like to see Swordsman II and Magdalene, but that's a pipe dream, considering I'm probably among the few people in the world who actually liked those characters. They're not a priority though. Much rather see Quasar, Sersi, Monica, Crystal, Justice, Firestar, Stingray, Mantis and Swordsman I first. (Yeah I left out Starfox....intentionally LOL) |

Just think though maybe in a year we'll be saying the same thing about both Civil War waves and the new X-Men wave. Of course, by then, we'll have mostly gotten what we want and will be ready for the new stuff. |

It is weird that Hasbro is supposedly trying to get so many waves out this year. Definitely has me curious as to how much of this will end up clogging shelves the rest of the year and into next. Even weirder though is that the X-Men wave is up for pre-order on Amazon with an August ship date, but isn't the Spidey wave coming out in the next month or so? And it isn't available for pre-order.
