@Von
Nope, that was the original story. The tripe to which I'm referring was written in 2001/2002...and yes, it was a total chore. I didn't even do justice to how terrible it was. Death spoke. Death. Speech bubbles and all. Was this momentous event afforded the gravitas one would expect? Take a wild guess... |

...I really hate how much better the Dirk Anger head looks on the Hydra body than on the SHIELD Agent body.
Seriously, if I could get a Hydra Agent body and a Dirk head, I wouldn't need to try and get a 616 Nick Fury.

I'm not sure where they ship from. EE is in Cali, so most likely they got their shipments from China first. I'm going to optimistically say most places should be preparing to ship around the 15th or sooner

Also it's kind of weird that EE is shipping orders out now but Amazon still lists these to be released on August 1st. |

Backing up a few posts, I had the (mis)fortune of reading the Celestial Quest as well, I agree with TBM, it was awful. It was also my second introduction to Mantis because while I had heard of the Celestial Madonna storyline, I had not collected the back issues that far back to that point (I think I had gotten overwhelmed with the amount of Avengers issues and was trying to take it slow, had only collected back to around issue 250 or so with a few spotty issues.)
What that means of course is that my actual introduction of Mantis was during The Crossing storyline. Enough said, I think. Adding in both CQ and The Crossing as what I knew about the character it's easy to see why I'd be put off by her. However the CM storyline is not that bad, despite what the intentions may have been for her originally, and redeemed her somewhat in my eyes. Not enough to follow her further but at least I didn't loathe the character anymore. So yeah, just skip Celestial Quest. If it had not had Scarlet Witch in it, who was being REALLY well written by Busiek by that time, I likely wouldn't have even cared. So I advise..just don't care LOL! Oh I also did a small store run last night....TRU once again disappoints completely on their exclusives and I think the very same figures were still hanging on the pegs at Walmart and Target. Glutted with the Absorbing Man wave (no Spider-Gwen or Venom), the freaking Odin wave, and Captain America wave 1. One store DID have the Captain America wave 2 or most of it, no Nick Fury or Panther, which if I had seen Panther at very least I would have picked up for an arker. Oh well, such is life. I just like mantis design and look. I quit giving a crap about origins since the ladt decade or so marvel has cocked EVERYONE up so now its very simple for me do i like the asthetic.

On a side funny note I did mention to my toy hunting friend I was with, just think, in a year from now I could be saying "If I see another Dazzler or Polaris on the shelves I'm going to puke!" He just laughed in my face because of my 9 years of moaning about no Polaris. |

@Bad Moon
Thanks, man...I love Mythic Legions figs. I have Azhar and Zazhar..they'll be showing up in pics at some point. Edit: I neglected to mention that I like the nod to Thanos Quest. In particular, when he seeks counsel with Death and her undead minions bar his path. Nice!...at least, that's what I think you were channeling... Wow that Mythic Legions stuff is amazing! Want to buy! Really cannot afford! Want to buy! Four Horsemen put out some great stuff. This these for some reason reminds me of the McFarlane Warriors of the Zodiac series, which was cancelled after one set of 4, but looked like it was going to be outstanding. Gah. I really want to pump up my lines with in scale figures from other lines but they tend to be so much more expensive...

Nah, sorry I meant the Red Onslaught wave. I fear we're still going to see that wave a year from now, it will be the new Odin wave.

I notice that preorders for the entire wave are still available on the site compared to BBTS, Dorkside, and Amazon either have a couple of figures available but not the entire wave. I wonder if I place a preorder now will I possibly get these next week or so like you guys or will I be at the back of the line. I still have my preorder with Dorkside as well as Amazon so I don't want to cancel them but if there is a chance to get these figures a lot sooner I would gladly order with Entertainment Earth.
Also it's kind of weird that EE is shipping orders out now but Amazon still lists these to be released on August 1st.

These are a couple of older pics that I don't think I've ever shared here.
The Annihilators (with Terrax standing in for Ronan, who I don't have)... The (movie) Guardians of the Galaxy. I've ordered the 5-pack comic versions, and once they're here I'll need to recreate this with them... I've always liked the way these pictures turned out. |
