Maybe a Deadpool or FF waves, yes, but I'm wondering if Invisible Woman, Spectrum, MJ and Dark Phoenix and maybe either SOngbird/Typhoid Mary, who ever does NOT win that poll ultimately -- because you know it's gonna be one of those two -- get put in next years SDCC pack as a "women of Marvel" set. That would cover all major corners of Marvel after all, X-Men Avengers FF Spider-Man and general Marvel. Though of course, I'd rather have Spectrum not be exclusive. A FF wave would be awesome though. If they did that, I can only hope they'll release a Wizard. I think he's the last major foe they've had that hasn't been released in some format. |

A Deadpool wave would be awesome I'd love to a DP in a more classic look as opposed to his NOW look. Also like to see Lady DP, Siryn or Copycat and even though a bit of an obscure character Black Tom Cassidy

Though of course, I'd rather have Spectrum not be exclusive. I have a feeling Monica, MJ, and Dark Phoenix are all going to be exclusives, but just not in the same set. I'm leaning toward: Monica- Marvel Unlimited Plus Dark Phoenix- Walgreen's MJ- SDCC EDIT: Looks like the Marvel Unlimited Plus exclusive figure will not be Monica Rambeau, but a re-painted Carol Danvers. https://twitter.com/AgentM/status/758675520666103808 Looking at the description from the Marvel True Believer Panel at SDCC: "To start things off Penagos revealed the next Marvel Unlimited Plus box, which includes a Captain Marvel action figure – in the black and white uniform, a Wakandan patch from Black Panther, a pin, and three variant comics." It's not so much irritation as it is just a recommendation to have some patience, especially if a person insists on finding whole waves in store instead of just ordering them online. The only thing that would make finding a figure impossible possible is limiting your buying options voluntarily... =)

And just stop with Second Coming, TBH. Because, and i realize this is just my own opinion, I can't think of a single storyline in ANY of the X-Books that were anything more than mediocre past Second Coming (the start of Bendis' Uncanny and ANXM were probably the "best"). and a lot of it was just bad. With the except of the New Uncanny X-men run by Cullen Bunn which is now the only book I'm reading and absolutely fantastic.

As far as the main books went though, the Age of X storyline was "okay" but nothing more than that, it was like the last gasp of trying to get something new and innovative in to the run. The fear itself tie in to UXM was also alright but again, nothing more than that. Mike Carey's on XML was running out of steam by that point, as was Zeb Wells run on NM. I can't believe I'm going to compliment BMB but he brought some much needed vitality to the line at first. The first two arc (maybe 10-12 issues or so) of his ANXM and UXM were at least mildly interesting. The UXM run by Kierion Gillen (sp, I may have that wrong!) was neither bad nor good. Starting with Battle Of the Atom though, the line was to me pretty much unreadable. Yet I somehow read it anyways lol. Honestly though, as much as I thought Second Coming was fantastic, UXM started going down hill a few years before that. I know I'm in the minority here but I really like Ed Brubaker's run - RAFOTSE had an epically classic feel to me. And Messiah Complex was probably the best cross over weve had in the X-books since the turn of the century. Fractions run except for the crossovers was very much like what was after - not awful but boring. I thought the Sisterhood arc was a high point for the non-crossover part of his run, but that's not setting the bar very high. Mike Carey's X-Men/X-Men Legacy was probably THE best book of the X-Line up through Second Coming. But then it also just kind of started to lose steam for his last twenty odd issues. The book after Carey left was..ugh..I don't ever want to read that again. Almost other cross over after Second Coming failed miserably, IMO. AvX, Axis, and BOTA were unreadable. As mentioned the Age of X and Fear Itself tie ins are okay but not great. So basically to me after Messiah Complex, skip Uncanny X-Men right to Messiah War, Second Coming. Throw in Necrosha (for me anyways, because...Selene.) and the X-Men Legacy book up to that point as well, being sure to read certain sections of New Mutants, and complete reading of X-Factor and Remender's X-Force. Throw in a little of BMB and then pick up this current run of X-Men! That comment is not all directed to you Exodus, more to those who are interested in what to read in the last 10 years of books. Of course all this is just my opinion, but it's a little more thought out than me just saying everything past Second Coming stinks. Ah my memory, getting old. By the way, courtesy of Marvel Unlimited I read the first issue of Extraordinary X-men. Horrible, especially in comparison to Bunn's UXM. And now...back to our regularly scheduled programming Last edited by Captain Nash; 07-29-2016 at 11:48 AM.. |

Horrible is pretty subjective in this case (personally, EXM's one of the only Marvel books I haven't considered dropping), and at least EXM doesn't have anything called 'Greg Land' attached to it.

That's great, but I'd rather give my money to an artist who actually draws his stuff. Just sayin'.

Land is not bad when it's not obviously tracing everyone with an "O" face. His style of drawing is very realistic, as it should be considering his sources. It's when he phones it in and facial expressions look extremely out of place that annoy me. When he's not doing that, he can be among the best artists out there.

You know what bothers me about the Raft SDCC set, why is Dreadknight's cell so much bigger than the others? Shouldn't Abomination be in the biggest cell?! Poor Emil looks like he has no elbow room in there but Dreadknight gets loads of extra space for activities.

But as for an in-universe explanation, maybe Dreadknight's been a model inmate and gets a bigger cell as a reward.

Went to London Comic con today. Not much new stuff, but I saw a couple of Black Panthers MCU and a Spider-Gwen (retailing at 25/30 pounds) if anyone is interested. I'm back there on Sunday, if they don't get sold out, I can try get them for any Arkers.
I end up getting a Scorpion for a fiver, and Vision and Scarlet Witch from Hot toys, as they were way cheaper than eBay. Don't really collect them, but they just look too good to ignore. |

Seeing my quote again, I am reminded that I am as always forgetting something. Post Second Coming the best book was X-Force by Remender, and X-Factor by Peter David was also pretty good.
