Its like an arc reactor or something since his suit has tech in it now. So his symbol does this glow thing now.

no dude.... his suit is far more electronic, however nothing like an arc reactor. it's just a simple touch of modernism on it. i didn't like it at first but it grew on me. i think it also lights up for him, i don't want to all the way back to issue one to find out. im lazy. lol

I've read the first TPB and it was pretty good. Adding to what Jeddostotle7 said, Peter has his own company because of Doc Ock. Otto started it when he was inhabiting Peter's mind in the Superior Spiderman comic. It was part of Otto's attempt to show up the real Peter. Also, Parker Industries is based in the Baxter Building so that Peter can hang on to it until Reed and Sue return to the Marvel Universe (Johnny and Ben stayed behind). Also, Hobie Brown fills in as Spiderman so that Peter can be seen with his bodyguard from time to time.

There's just always a bunch of crazy storylines that get grazier as they are passed through the hands of different writers. Continuity is crazy. I mean, DC had to do Crisis on Infinite Earths and New 52 to reboot. I just can't do it. Unless you've been there from the very beginning, it's hard to follow what the heck's happening with these characters and stories. At least that is my experience. This is just my opinion, I don't mean to piss off/offend anyone. I just have always felt like an outsider with comics. I generally can only enjoy one-off graphic novels like The Killing Joke or Hush because I don't have to know the history to get what's happening.

Is there more to current Spider-Man other than "Yeah, he's basically just Iron-Man now"?

To be honest, I've only started reading comics recently, and I'm not even reading all the comics (many of the happenings I'm hearing about from other people), but somehow, I can wrap my head around it pretty easily. No idea why. Looking at it objectively, I probably should be confused, but it's just never been that hard for me to understand.
I go into comic book stores and feel a degree of anxiety when I actually look at comics instead of figures. The other thing for me is, and I don't know if it's just DC that does this, but when I read comics, a lot of times in the speech bubbles they put words in bold that don't need to be in bold. So there's emphasis on ridiculous things like "I opened the door"

This Tombstone is amongst Hasbro's finest work. Maybe it's because I'm a fan of the character and because they chose a costume I love for this guy (I honestly like it more than the suit or plain black T-Shirt look, it gives him that unapologetically 80s look), but this guy is one of the best offerings from Hasbro to me. It's exactly the type of figure I'd imagine for Tombstone.

EDIT: this is probably pretty off-topic for this thread. I probably won't be continuing to elaborate on this as I feel I've said all that I need to say on the matter, so I won't be getting any further off-topic. If Weapon X wants to continue it/needs me to explain anything further, we can do it in PM.
I don't know a good starting point to get you well-read on the histories and such of different characters; for me, I mostly just gained that info through comic book fan cultural osmosis and a bit of reading on wikis. However, if you want a good starting point for reading what's going on right now: I don't know one for Marvel, but for DC, the perfect starting point would be DC Universe: Rebirth, released just about a year ago now. It was DC's most recent relaunch, but it didn't reboot the universe like New 52 did; instead, it's kind of positioning the New 52 reboot in-universe as someone else messing with the DC Universe, so all the different versions of characters from the New 52 weren't separate versions of the characters, but the same exact people, just with their history changed*. After DC Universe: Rebirth, for whichever titles you want to read, you read the "[title]: Rebirth" (which is kind of a one-shot to introduce new readers to that specific title), and then start the actual series with the "[title] #1", and continue on from there. It's only been a year since then, so even the titles that have been bi-weekly and started right after DC: Rebirth started are only in their early #20's**, and many of them have already had trade paperbacks released; so you can just pick up however many trade paperbacks there are for that title, and whichever issues that aren't included yet in a trade paperback (take Batman, for example***; right now, it's up to issue #21, so you'd go and pick up Batman: Rebirth, Batman Vol. 1: I Am Gotham (Batman #1-6), Batman: Night of the Monster Men (the crossover one; Batman #7-8, Nightwing #5-6, and Detective Comics #941-942), and Batman Vol. 2: I Am Suicide (Batman #9-15), and then you'd go and pick up the individual issues of Batman #16-21. Of course, you could always just pick up each individual issue as well, but that might cost more). Do that for all titles you're interested in. Sorry if this was still too complicated, but this is the least complicated explanation I personally can give. *The exception to this is Superman, who is the pre-New 52 version, but this gets explained further as you read into the books that have been coming out since then. **This is true except for Detective Comics and Action Comics; those titles' numberings have been restored to the ones that started when they originally started in the 1930's and weren't really changed (as far as I know) until the New 52 reset them both back to #1, so they restarted after Rebirth from issues #934 and #957, respectively. ***Batman in particular is a bit complicated in terms of the collections, as it had a crossover with other titles; the collected forms of the majority of other titles are just the different issues of that comic. Yeah, sometimes (if not executed well), it can be really weird. Fortunately a lot of the time they put emphasis on things that actually do make sense, but it definitely can get jarring sometimes. Now that I've decided to get the entire wave, I agree. Let's just get this done. I'm guessing though it will release May or maybe even June...which May is just a few days away...not too much longer.
Of course, if it comes out even in June that's 5 waves in six months. We know the Defenders "wave", (four figures only right?) and the Thor wave for sure. There's the rumors of the Deadpool/Spider-man/Avengers/Black Panther waves but I can't help but think all or at least most of those are 2018, if they're real. I wonder what else there may be for the rest of the year. I can't imagine Hasbro wants to front end their waves and have 5 in the first half and 2, with one of them being small, in the second. Even last year we had 4 of the 7 in the second half. |

Ran into the spidey/vulture 2 pack this morning at a walmart. I was tempted to get it, however didn't need another regular deco spidey figure. So i passed on it. Maybe when it drops down in price i'll get it.

I think I need a good starting point recommendation.

So there's emphasis on ridiculous things like "I opened the door" Before we can make any recommendations, what character's are you interested in? With a username like Weapon X, I would assume that you are interested in X-Men. If so, start with the Chris Claremont run on Uncanny X-Men. How you acquire them is up to you, but give Claremont's run a shot at least till John Byrne takes over as the artist. Byrne's issues are some of my favorites and he's a really good artist. |

While I like the look of Mantis and Rocket, I'm hoping at least Rocket will get a canon outing. That said, the Guardians have had many different looks in recent years. Even the quintessential Conquest costumes were simply Kree-inspired mission duds, so I could fudge the new MCU Rocket into my collection if they don't redraft him.
