There is a Con in my tiny town today! Not expecting much but going to have a great time with the lad. Hope to get him some posters for his new giant bedroom. Also, German sausages served all day, I'm in. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.e...hall/187759939

My find.... All three for a fiver. Need that Stealth Iron Man for a lower leg swap for an upgrade on Drax. Cable for his head for an Adam Warlock Guardians version. Puck just because who doesn't need a Canadian little person??!?? Funny, I was just looking at two of these figures on ebay on Thursday for Guardians Of The Galaxy team figures.
The lad got a Freddie and Jason Pop two pack with his pennies. Even found a pretty necklace for the old lass back home. Plenty of cosplay pics, seen some old friends, had a great sausage and a pint. Well good day. Knackered now, feet up and off to watch Logan on me tablet.

The head is finished being sculpted. It is in Ireland and will be in the post I the morning!!!
LH.... Bad Goliath from Masters of Evil. Based of his look from the Super Helicarrier artwork from 2012. ML PILEDRIVER body under a custom sculpted ML Wrecker head. He sculpted this version with the mouth open as the original isn't apparently. He had sculpted the cut lines consistent with Wrecker but smoothed them over with miliputt for this look. Gave him his "angry eyes" that are yellow. For the body, I got a headless ML. PILEDRIVER from China Bay like two years ago maybe. Perfect base for him. Took AGES to source the right head. Then two weeks ago I stumbled across a cat name Ben from Ireland. He is starting a little side hustle sculpting rare ML heads. He casts the original htf ones and then sculpts a original version of them but different. He had them showcased on a PILEDRIVER body and I seriously almost peed a little. £8 quid for a cast of his original sculpture.... Painted too! I asked if he could do the open mouth one matched to the orange. He did it and it looks great. I have had to modify the Base figure a bit and will paint the brownish red colour on the body, boots and head when it arrives. Should be pretty spot on!!!! |

Lionheart, maybe they had one prototyped(repaint and head sculpt variation)but never released it after the helicarriers bombed at retail.
just going back to what ukmu said in an earlier post about vehicles.from what i seen out on the hunt down through the last few years>>im2,cap america, spiderman lines all had vehicles and they didnt sell very well.the sentinels, quinjets, helicarriers also did poorly sales wise.i think smyths ended up sending back their helicarriers instead of putting them on sale. now if they had created some connect and build dioramas? like the interior of tony starks lab or a hall of armors??? they may have been on to something. |

I love both the Helicarrier and Super Helicarrier.
I want to donate the retail version along with a whole set of Avengers to some children's place. Like a hospital or orphanage or something. Still need a few figures, but I have most. Maybe some kid at Christmas? Or maybe flog it on a local Facebook sales page for 20 quid and get a curry and a few pints. Moral dilemmas! Nah, I am a HUGE fan of vehicles and playsets. Anytime they combine the two, even better! It displays well and has loads of play features. Also, the retail version holds 16 figures in pegs and a Quinjet on the deck! Fires nine missiles, has a detachable flight pod, a crane, and an action figure flipping back deck gimmick plus a secret trap door in the front to knock baddies through. Years of play in that thing!!! I can't wait to hang the Super Helicarrier up on the mancave in the next month. I will photobomb the shit out of this page! Speaking of which, need to get another Detolf and some normal shelves. Then figure out how to set up four diorama displays. Two small, two big. One small Spider-Man set up with the Daily Bugle playset, one small AVENGERS set up a mansion look to it. The two big ones will be S.H.I.E.L.D. and that other green and yellow team. I don't want to do a massive battle, just display them like a North Korean military parade on opposite side of the room. Those two armies are much too large for shelves with their giant vehicles. Then, pride of place will go my ultimate Guardians of the Galaxy, but I still have to buy most of them and make a few myself. Each little shelf in the Detolf shelves will be there own little world. As you've seen the one I have now filled with armies. Doom, AIM, Skrulls and Chitauri. Like that. A Deadpool shelf with a Funko Pop Taco Truck and the gang from the SDCC set. A 90's X-Men shelf with a danger room printed background. A whole shelf to showcase Lang and his cool chair from Pilk. A Fantastic Four shelf with the Fantasticar. That type of stuff. Easily can fill the four that way. Also always looking to build height with each shelf to fill up the dead space. Hope to get a top to bottom look in each section. Hope. Someday, I will draw a little background and floor for each section too. Then add lighting to each shelf. By Christmas (of 2039 the way I procrastinate) this year it should be done and look amazing.

Tired of painting in the heat. 37 on Friday!!!!! That is passed my acceptable threshold.
Getting close though. Anyone have a spare MU Karnak going? On a side note.... apparently I have just decided to finish an INHUMANS team. Didn't even see that coming! I got a Crystal from our own Pilk, sort of unplanned. Kind of weird but I'm very happy it happened. Then a few hours ago....so for some reason at 4:37 a.m. early Saturday morning I also bought a Gorgon on American ebay. The 1995 Fantastic Four line from Toy Biz. I had like £15 quid of left over lolly (#BargainHunt) in my second PayPal account. Before I knew it, I ordered it. That said, I have a Triton still unopened I got at Sainsbury's a year ago for like less than a fiver. I do have a Medusa. A broken Blackbolt (shoulder pin snapped) I got for free couple of years ago with a Blade figure I traded off to Jay as well. Now, I find myself accepting some sales (reluctantly) from some paintings I wanted to keep. Someone has been bugging me and now I need Lockjaw money. What an expensive wad of plastic he is. For to have it though. That set has been out for a year and Lockjaw was announced 2 years ago.... no interest at all. Until today. Now... I find myself selling off shit to get one! Plastic crack addict indeed.

Multiple Man looks so much better done that way!
Thanks for looking for the Doom figure for me. I just really need it for a white cape. I think I might have FINALLY sourced the final BAF piece I need to finish my 3.75" Arnim Zola. Been like two years this November since I started that guy! Anyway, been wanting to change the "face" on his chest. Got it sorted now, the most evil person in Marvel history.... Dwight Stall.

how about starting with a thank you for keeping the line going as long as it has.outside of being contractually oblidged to continue the line,it could have easily been dropped when the universe moniker finished its run after vonner left hasbro.all those chinabay and tao bao figs would not have been as easily acquired, all the infinite and legends 3.75" would have been prototype status and you would have paid through the nose for those.this line could have easily gone down the showdown path.dropped after a short time.

IF the line is over then we should be thankful for what we got rather than piss and moan about what we didn't
I moved over to Marvel Via the JLU line dying because my daughter liked to collect toys and it gave us something to do (she did the 3.75 I do the Japanese and other scales) We are 100% complete on both lines, all are open, all are played with and even though she has now moved on to other things I still collect and we still share a fondness for the little guys. What I am trying to say is that sometimes people get caught up in the doom and gloom of the end rather than the amazing run we had in the middle. I have made some good friends from all over the world and continue to buy the line at retail where I can, not many options in the UK but Amazon US delivered my sinister 6 pack the other day (which is awesome, I don't care if they are repaints and money isn't an issue for as a great man once said "you have to pay to play") anyway enough rambles JB how much you after for one of those FF spideys? I want to do an agent venom and the make a good base

but on a serious note ukmu i look at what makes the legends line as good as it is and its a combination of things that could have easily been applied within the 3.75 community but sadly isnt. Quote:

but on a serious note ukmu i look at what makes the legends line as good as it is and its a combination of things that could have easily been applied within the 3.75 community but sadly isnt. but also jimmyo its the interaction between community members that has given the legends line the sustainability it has 15+ year on and its going strong, when it went into hiatus at the start of hasbros run,it was the fans love for it that brought it back.look at how the core legends group operate, very vocal and friendly with high levels of appreciation. go to MMM and every legend figure you need is available via other members.i dont think ive seen anyone here offer help on the sdcc16 reveals.groot packs, maestro wave,GOTG/strange/homecoming packs??? so how can a line survive if some clown is selling them on amazon and ebay at marked up prices.legends communities shut that shit down straight away.lol i still get PMs from my legends buddies hooking me up with hand and joe ninjas because they know my bag as far as collecting goes.its been many years since any one here did that, and ironically it was legends collectors here that went above and beyond.but like you said ive also met some genuinely great human beings in here and im grateful of that at the very least.and i still try help whenevr i can. Well then.... charity starts at home.
I would love some help getting some H.A.C.K.S. blanks later this summer. I am looking for a KARNAK at a good price. Red ULTRONS for £15 all day long please. Hobgoblin is on my short list as well. We can't change the world, but we can help it become a little better at least here. We all know the difficulty in obtaining figures here. Maybe we can not impact the ENTIRE collecting community, but we few can help each other..... I know our buying pool is small and we all swim in it. Maybe with the upcoming Con exclusive (yes, I am still hopeful) we can band together and buy in bulk to save on shipping? Maybe we can procure say 10 sets at a discounted rate and divide the cost? A figure co-op as it were. The "gotta pay to play" mantra doesn't apply to me. As an unpaid carer to my disabled wife who recently had to sell his sculpting studio and pretty much give up all of his professional dreams and hopes.... I "gotta save, and budget, and sacrifice and make tough decisions to play." And yes, it hurt giving up HYDRA guys, but was mutually beneficial. More over, I liked to help. In fact, finding Maria Hill figures used to be my thing. Almost a dozen I helped find their way. I never charged a penny over cost. I tried on many occasions to get one for Jimmy as it was the final figure he needed from the old MU brand. Just about every single UK member (including angry Irishmen )has offered me help in some form. I agree it could be tighter. I too get caught up in the moaning of it all. So let's try to help each other more. I guess it is a matter of asking for what you need.... virtual hug!
