@Veronica
I've recently (2-3days) seen the Vulture and - mild nonsequitur - MCU Bucky in the wild. I'm eyeing both for head swaps as suited thugs... @Nite I have some prescription cough medicine...I now see how people develop a problem with the sizzurp/purple dranky-drank |

Only one of the stores I frequent had it. The same store at which I located Daredevil, Black Ant, Namor, and Punisher. I think its safe to say they're on top of it. I took bits of strategy from Boy Blunder - befriending the toy-aisle stock associate and store manager, SymbiSpidey's date provision, and Trivial Psychic's UPC/WIC info. At first, the stock manager said she didn't believe the info was accurate only to find it in her item tracker for the date Symbi reported. I just happened to pop in today to grab some medicine - I'm sick - and bingo! blango! she was there...the manager approaches me while I'm holding the fig and tells me that the stock-woman alerted him to give me a head-up...I thanked him holding the fig high and made my purchase. Good luck...try going to the store you've previously had success at...

I talked to a lady at my TRU, who revealed she is a collector herself. She said that they got a case of the MJ 2 pack in, but it has gone missing.
Second time in a month or so I've heard of this happening. Real shame.

Yeah, maybe. But it's also possible as she said, that resellers (or an employee) hid them somewhere in the store.

The Vulture 2 pack has been in every Walmart I've stopped by in the past week or two so maybe it's just your particular area. However, I'm not sure BP has been released yet. The only people that I know of that have him are reviewers and I would imagine that they got their BP figures from eBay or Robot Kingdom. The movie comes out Feb. 2018 so maybe they're waiting on a trailer or something so that people are excited for the character.

I live within 10 miles of 6 Wal-Marts and nothing yet. Does anyone know how they pack the Wal-Mart exclusives? It seems like Walgreens gets 8 figure cases, but not so much Wal-Mart

What's with the pixelated dot-matrix paint jobs creeping into Legends releases? I just noticed it on front page Rocket (his face) photo shoot and one of the hands of my Invisible Woman has the same issue. I hope this doesn't become a greater QC problem moving forward...

Dorksidetoys and Amazon are probably your best bets. You could try HTS or TRU but that will probably require more patience. |

I've read the complaints about the Figuarts, I just hoped that the problem would remain a "their" issue and not become an "our" issue. I suppose there is a significant financial boon to greater automation within the toymaking process and "copycat" behavior is to be expected. As Hasbro increases their release counts, we can expect cost saving measures like this one to become more commonplace...no bueno.

It's face printing instead of face painting. Bandai has been using it since last year on their Star Wars and Marvel Figuarts. Like you said, you really don't notice it unless you're up close. Given how great Gamora looks and how weak the likenesses have been on past movie figures, I think it's a good direction for Hasbro to go in.

The dot-matrix/face printing thing was something that I mentioned in my two post review of the entire wave that I'm sure nobody read. I initially started to suspect they were doing this as far back as the Space Venom wave, as the eyes on some of my figures (Silk in particular) looked a little fuzzy, but upon looking at this Mantis wave, I can say with confidence that they are.
It does not however look like they are printing faces on every figure upon closer examination, and for the most part, it seems as if it's reserved mostly for the MCU stuff. Ex Nihilo, Adam Warlock, and Death's Head all have a classic painted look to them, where as Rocket, Gamora, and Nebula, look as if they have been run through a printing machine of some sorts. Rocket's is very noticeable when you get closer if you look at the snout, as you'll begin to notice a grid, and in the case of Gamora, her face gets fuzzier as you bring it closer to the naked eye. In both cases, I struggle to see the finer details in the eyes such as the iris and pupils. Nebula is a little better since she has neither, and this is the figure the process seemed to work best on. Not all of the MCU figures are being screened though either. I can also say with confidence that the new Star-Lord (Mantis wave) as well as Mantis herself look to have traditionally painted faces. My guess is that they are only doing this process on figures that have more complicated details, such as tattoos and fur patterns, where neither of those figures have that (especially Mantis, who had a doll like look to her, both in the movie and in action figure form.) I know this process is a controversial one, as I have heard people from both the FigureArts and DC Icons community cry out both in favor and against it, but if it prevents us from having figures that turn out like the first Gamora, I'm okay with a little bit of up close fuzziness. I hope though that this doesn't become the standard practice for EVERYTHING however, as the way the paints came out on their comic figures are just fine for the most part, and have been up to par as some of the best results they have produced to date. I also think this is part of the evolution of things, and Hasbro is experimenting with this because of other companies, both foreign and domestic, are dipping their toes in it. I'm sure that every time Hasbro puts out an MCU figure (not to mention their Black Series,) they probably are looking at whatever SHFigureArts is doing out of the corner of their eye, while reading through the comments of how this collector or that collector is gonna "just hold out for the Bandai/Mafex/Figma version instead". We can say that this type of stuff goes unheard by Hasbro, but remember that there is a team of sculptors, marketers, and developers that put their hard work making this stuff happen, and I'm sure that NO ARTIST wants to see their work dismissed before it's even had a chance to find it's way into our hands.
