Well I went to the final TRU that isn't 4 hours away today and they too had nothing. They got the pack in on Thursday and all 4 were gone in 20 minutes.
On the other hand, I did get this guy: They had an unopened box of the case sitting atop their shelves so the lady pulled it down for me and I left me my sweet sweet 90s EXTREME!! nostalgia. Now I just need Sleepwalker and I'll have the trinity of my Marvel childhood.

I'm a little late out of the gate, but since I've already covered the Phoenix/Cyclops two pack, here's a couple of thoughts to the recent Homecoming wave that finally arrived at my doorstep last week...
Tombstone: Really happy to finally have this guy, in the look that I wanted no less. The head-sculpt is REALLY well done, and I love the wash over his gray skin giving him the rock hard, granite look. He also looks to be on a new body entirely, and if so, I hope this is re-purposed into the new Hyperion/Sentry body mold, as it has much better proportions. Now I just need a larger suited WWE body for the inevitable head-swap. My only gripe with it is the boot cuffs, which seem really unnecessary and cheap, as the should have just sculpted the details onto the boot. Unlike Cyclops, where the straps can be pulled up a bit so they don't fidget, these just hang loosely around the ankle, making it look as if he's wearing a pair of bondage cuffs around his legs as opposed to them actually being a part of the boots. Cosmic Spider-Man: Not really a whole lot that I can say for this figure other than it's alright. Mine was painted fairly well and crisp, and I really like the additional interchangeable heads for him. It would have been nice if he had come with some power effects though, and mine had a QC issue with his right shoulder. The arm was not stuck, but the joint was so tight that I feel as if I am going to break the figure every time I move it horizontally. Other than that, it's not a bad figure, and I liked that they used the Spider-UK body for it. Now I can finally go God mode again, only without my PS1. Beetle: This would have been a sweet figure, but the QC issues that I had with mine really took the wind out of my sails. Loose hips, really loose arms (as in helicopter, something I have NEVER had happen to me in over 15 years of collecting Marvel Legends), and even a loose ab crunch that doesn't really crunch. I like the new shoulder and torso sculpts, but what's the point if they don't hold their pose? I do think those body parts can be re-used to give us a Vault Guardsman in the future, but they really need to figure out how to get them to work minus the QC issues. I'm strongly considering getting rid of him altogether as he is a loose floppy mess, so much so that I cannot focus on any of the positives. Huge let down, and next to Mantis wave Douche-lord, easily my worst figure of the year thus far. Moon Knight: Very cool figure, but would I pay fifty bucks for it? No. I do like the new costume, and the new molded parts, but there is just something about the figure that doesn't sit with me as much as I hoped it would, and I was dying for a new MK, since my old ToyBiz one was just that...old. I wish we would have received a staff or set of nunchucks over the DD billy club again, but it's a minor gripe, and I do love all of the different moon-erangs that he comes with, even if they don't sit as well as they should between the fingers. Also, I should mention that I LOVE the roll of the dice movement in his gripping hands, as it allows him to be able to strike some really neat poses. Because of that, he becomes one of the best designed figures since TaskMaster came out. The Human Spider (Homemade Spidey): I was really excited about this figure initially, but in hand, it comes off as rather flat. Not sure what it is exactly, as the sculpt is great, as well as the articulation, hands, etc...but it seems like it needs something to really give it a little bit more oomph. A simple black wash over the clothing would have really made this shine. Still an OK figure, I guess I was just let down a little by how plain it turned out. Web Wing Spider-Man: First off, chuck the web wings. They suck. They're tiny and they are not as well implemented as they were with Spider-Woman. However, outside of that, this may be my favorite movie version Spider-Man figure just far, or at least a very close second to the ToyBiz one from the original movie. I'm still not a fan of the costume, but this one is done so much better than the Civil War version. The articulation has actually been improved a little as he has slightly more range in the hips, and the paints are awesome. I never thought the blue lines would look as good as they do in the webline pattern, making the figure bright and colorful. He pops. They hands are also good, and the expressions are perfect. I can see this figure hitting Pizza Spidey type prices in a few years, so grab him if you can see him. Vulture (w/BAF Wings): On his own, a good figure with an incredible amount of sculpt work, but with the wings assembled, man is he pretty amazing. While I hope this BAF accessory thing doesn't become a trend for Hasbro, I will be the first to admit that I do dig this, and not only does he look good posed with them, but he can even stand while wearing them without using the included base. Vulture is appropriately intimidating, with the creepy night vision lenses staring out of the helmet, and I love the helmet design over all. It looks just enough military issue, just enough comic book styling without coming off looking like a lost Power Ranger villain. The only gripe that I have is that it would have been nice to get a weapon for the Vulture figure itself, but we have received some good ones over the years that would work perfectly with him (I'm currently using "Fortune's" rail gun that came with DeadPool) and the wings really do look weapon enough. I highly recommend completing it if you can. Last edited by Trivial Psychic; 06-25-2017 at 02:27 PM.. |

Stopped in at TRU, they had a spot for the SM/MJ pack (which I received in the mail last week) and four of the packs! I asked about the Dark Phoenix pack and they couldn't find it in the system....weird. But I take it as a really good sign that my MoD got so many of these things in this past week - maybe someone new at the regional office is ordering, someone who actually gives a damn.
Also got my Beetle and Tombstone last week - thanks Dorkside!!! Look great but of course right now don't have display area at all, so in the latest box they go! I'm just glad that the space we are in for the next year I have a place to put my boxes of Legends and Star Wars figures, would hate to keep them in offsite or outside storage. |

BTW, the web wings are the only reason I would buy the movie Spidey.

I can't find stands off EBay much cheaper than $10. Those NECA stands are sturdy, and can support some weight. I have a few of the stands included with the old ToyBiz figures, and they are pretty loose. I'm going to grab a couple more the next time I get paid. |

I knew that two pack was going to be a big problem with scalpers. I'm hoping the 8/1 sell date is legit, and we will see a mass of them on the market instead of this black market crap we've got going right now.

The hands are also very loose at the wrist on mine, both in the swivel and pivot, as well as the right leg, which has a tendency to to stray off to the right on it's own. The torso assembly is very weak as well, there's almost no crunch or "click" to it. They barely hold, causing the figure to fold in half if again you so much as breathe on it. It's an issue that I've also noticed on many reviewers videos (some have mentioned it, others have not, but when you notice figure joints moving on their own while barely being touched or not at all, you know that something is up.) It has also been mentioned as well a bunch online, which leads me to believe that this will be a rampant issue among other Beetle figures out there. The web wings really do suck on the new figure though. They're super tiny, don't provide very much coverage and they fall out of the holes drilled into the figure fairly easy. After trying to strike a pose unsuccessfully with them on for about 10 minutes, I gave up on them and tossed them into the baggie with the rest of the spare parts. |

The arms at the shoulders on both sides are very loose, and will free spin if I flick at them. The only thing that allows me to keep the arms in poses is if I push in the arms as close as possible to the body. Otherwise they go into free spins or move if you breathe on them.

Nope. Nick Fury was the Bucky body mold, Beetle has a new upper body mold and Taskmaster's shoulders.

3. Thanks! 4. Unfortunately those J's are the 2001 retro release. I hadn't worn these in about a year or two. Decided to wear them that day to run errands and they started coming apart on me. |

I'm confident Storm is going to be in the next X-Men wave. Question is which costume! She's got so many great looks like her first costume, the mohawk look, and her 90's Jim lee costume.

Being serious there actually was a Moon Knight 2099, or maybe she still exists? 2099 persists as an alternate reality but it isn't the same 2099 as from the '90s comics, I haven't read any of it but it seems mostly similar to the old 2099 so maybe the characters all still exist albeit with different histories. Either way, Moon Knight 2099 only showed up briefly and she was like the protector of Attilan on the moon or something but that was all we got. I was always curious to learn more but we never did.

Personally, I'm thinking that we'll get a Jim Lee Psylocke out of one of the X-waves before Storm, but why can't we get both?! |

I'd love for a Jim Lee Storm to be released. My only stipulations: she's got to have full, non-hindered articulation while wearing the cape, and she's got to have super voluminous hair straight out of the 90's!!
Personally, I'm thinking that we'll get a Jim Lee Psylocke out of one of the X-waves before Storm, but why can't we get both?! 90s versions of Psylocke and Wolverine (Blue and Yellow) are probably being given serious consideration by Hasbro since they already have most of the parts to make them. Sculpt wise, Wolverine just needs shoulder pads while Psylocke could just reuse the Silk figure with the Ms. Marvel sash. |

I want to see a Jubilee, but one like the 90s cartoon. How about a damn Gambit, it's amazing to me that such a popular character has only had one ML figure, not counting that gimmicky xmen figure.

90s Jim Lee Storm is the most likely version to be made since Hasbro has already released Jim Lee versions of Cyclops, Rogue, and Wolverine. Plus next years Dark Phoenix movie is supposed to be set in 1991 so it would be a good time to release some X-Men figures that will hit the nostalgia buttons of collectors. As for her cape, it would probably be a cloth one like the Jubilee wave Storm had. It didn't interfere with the articulation and it looks pretty nice. It's a little on the narrow side but nevertheless, it looks good.

That fcking infuriates me. I've always been in disdain of figure swapping or accessory swapping but in recent years it's become more and more of something we actually see on a regular basis. This shit wouldn't fly if it were something in the electronics department.
