Am late to the party here but has anyone tried the walking dead or halo figures for compatibility?
And I love all the new kick starters. They can't come soon enough |

Welcome Kalzeth! i used a couple of grunt figures for background cosmic alien fodder and haven't gotten around to customizing Tartarus as an Asgardian troll/ogre. i've seen some 3.75 inch WD head casts too.

I would do this but it's not just the fee to shrink. It's also acquisition of the 6" head because I don't have them (don't collect them). I wonder if there is a way to crowdsourcing an effort to get more 6" shrunk down since a cast could benefit a lot of people.

Do any of these folks who do custom shrinkings ever put their work in a store? I mean know they have shrunken heads (heh) in their store, but if I wanted one done, I'd want it available for everyone.

Shrinking heads takes time and it's not a cheap process. Requires lots of sylicone that is not cheap. Basically it's a 3 to 4 step procedure to get the head in the right size. Each cast reduces a bit. Once you get the desired size you need to obtain a mold out of it for which you will cast the final heads. The shrinking process also takes time and is heavily influenced by the weather.
Prize wise is very close to what glassmancustoms charges. So the best to save costs is to get a few friends interested in the same head so that you can reduce the shrinking cost a bit. Steve shrinks and casts lots of stuff but it's for his own personal work. If he has the mold maybe he can cast you guys stuff. |

I'm not known, nor do I have a store, but I've done some 1/12 to 1/18 hydroshrinking and it's not so bad. Takes time and the hydroshrink can be finicky, but once you get the hang of it it's kind of a satisfying process. I've shrunk NECA Nathan Drake, Kratos, Duke Nukem, Chris Redfield, the GoTG2 maskless Star Lord, Civil War Winter Soldier, Black Series Han Solo, SOTA Ryu, Ken, and Sagat and now I'm in the process of shrinking some of the Sideshow Bonds. So we'll see how the 1/6 process goes.

Have you tried to shrink torso's to go with the heads? I would love a ML Black Cat one & a DC Power Girl one. I was annoyed when Hasbro just didn't down-size the ML version for the 3.75" one. |

I did try to shrink NECA Drakes torso when I did the head, but it was the first thing I ever tried and I couldn't get it to work. I'm sure, however, a more normal torso can be done. I'd imagine most people don't shrink anything more than heads because of the amount of material used. The other issue I see with shrinking torsos is getting the top and bottom halves to line up perfectly. The shrinking process is more often than not trial and error.
I would only bother to do a new Craig head if I find a really good inexpensive 1/6 version. The Golden Compass has worked for everyone and it's great, but if I do decide to open a store I'd want completely original work to sell. Vort and Avac and everyone else have everything already covered, so I'd rather have a niche specialty store like Glassman. Do you guys think there's enough interest? If you guys search "MTF Nathan Drake" and "MTF Han Solo" on Facebook, you can see a few pics of the shrink down heads. I need to take better pics and do some touch ups to the paint, but I'm pretty happy with them.

Not impossible but you need need extra work and creativity to overcome this limitation I described above. |
