So, after the Marvel Knights and Thor waves... is there anything else set for standard retail this year? Because holy hell, we have so much to catch up on. Still haven't picked up either of the TRU two-packs (though ToyAddicts is holding a Spidey/MJ pack in our pick-up bin, and will throw a Scott/Jean in there if they get enough), and there's still the entire Homecoming wave (between myself and my wife, we each liked enough of the figures in the wave that picking up the whole damn wave seems proper), not to mention grabbing Adam Warlock, Jane Foster Thor, and Jessica Jones (and Man-Thing).
I'm assuming the next Spidey wave (Lizard BAF) may start showing up at the end of the year, but good christ am I glad to have some breathing room.

agreed....and after this year (so far)...i think i'm already into my February 2019 budget.
************************************************** ****************** picked this bad boy up (with paint mod) off of ebay...mostly because since Brownfinger recommended reading Annihilation, i have a desire to own some cosmic figs... Last edited by Augustus_Cole; 08-16-2017 at 10:37 AM.. |

So to my surprise TRU actually ended up getting Dark Phoenix/Cyclops back in stock and honored my backorder so...YAY!
Unfortunately this means I'm dead broke. But if I have to deal with eating bread and drinking water for the next week in order to get my figs...worth it

I'm glad that Transformers is losing some of my interest (between price and character selection, I'm a LOT more picky about the current stuff I pick up), and that my wife's doll lines are waning (Ever After High is effectively dead, Monster High is really hit-or-miss these days, and DC Super Hero Girls spaces out their releases a lot more effectively), which frees up more money for us to just invest in ML. And the occasional Figuarts or MMPR Legacy figures. (Incidentally, if anyone's selling an MMPR Red, Blue, or Black (with Megazord part) for reasonable, PM me? )

FOr what else there is there's the Deadpool con exclusive, the Thor/Valkyrie Two pack, and Human Torch. Those last two things and the nearly mythical Black Panther are all that are on my list for the rst of the year, unless that lizard wave hits early which is likely, but even with that I just want Mysterio so no big deal. ----------------------------------- I got my SDCC set today. It's really nice packaging, I almost don't want to open it. It's still sitting in the box because I'm just enjoying the actual work they put into the packaging design. All the figures look great but I'll get a better impression when I take them out eventually. I wish they made the packaging in these sets in some wawy you could remove the figure without destroying the packaging..I don't know how I just really like the extra work they've put into all of the last five year's sets. |

Having said that... I haven't seen the TRU MJ 2 pack or Phoenix... not even price tags on the shelf for them. LOL. Netflix wave is a complete no show around my parts and only have seen Loki from the Ragnarok wave. Did see the entire Adam Warlock GoTG wave on clearance for $11 each at Walmart though... too bad I only wanted Nebula... sux I can never get lucky like that with X-waves. |

Really like the purple paint-job on that one. Looks good.

I think standard waves that's it. 7 waves in 7 months. I hate to say it from a collecting standpoint of getting new stuff but Hasbro needs to slow down. I mean, I know they will the second half of this year, but it's just so much Jan-July!

Also, piggybacking off your list of figures this year, we also have the Vintage card-back wave and the Defenders exclusive box-set. Last edited by redfox; 08-16-2017 at 02:41 PM.. |

For Ego what's the big difference with the faces, I could not tell while looking at it...And it's kind of lame that they released 3 different Star Lords...

Nice find on Annihilus! It looks great! I keep waffling back and forth on trying to pick him up. That custom paint job really adds to the figure. It sounds like you liked Annihilation. If so, check out Annihilation: Conquest. It picks up and leads into the outstanding GotG and Nova series. As for all the waves, I REALLY hope they die down for now. I have spent a fortune on Legends lately and I'm currently in Indianapolis for Gen Con which is going to doubly kill my funds. Last edited by Kirathis; 08-16-2017 at 03:16 PM.. |

Yes that 2 pack was actually up for a few hours, so hopefully some folks were able to get them. I was quite surprised.

Unrelated --------------------------------------------------- I forgot to mention last night at TRU I saw The Groot Exclusive!!! What madness, didn't that "release" in February or something? This is the first time I saw it in stores. Also saw about a half dozen of the GOTG 2 pack...meh. Being I'm not a huge MCU collector and there's another Star Lord in there..I just couldn't be too pumped about getting Ego Russell. My friend asked what the difference in the two heads was...I was like...I think one of them is less stern? I really could barely tell a difference. |

Any more and we'd start going through withdrawal. shit i gotta save up for NYCC in less than two months. Last edited by Augustus_Cole; 08-16-2017 at 04:40 PM.. |

wasn't sure about these but now i see ..FOR ME..there's no reason to need to keep both. The difference in the hammer and the slight color difference in the clothing.
i'm def gonna sell\trade the single pack Ragnarok version. Last edited by Augustus_Cole; 08-16-2017 at 05:56 PM.. |

I think the Vintage wave is set to hit in Nov. Most people can probably skip that though. Although that Wolverine with unmasked head looks to good to pass up. I think the vehicles with BW and Ghost Rider will be out this year also.

Note: I am with some on Arkers about the new ML 12 Inch Hulk....The brown shading is looking more worst any time I see a picture of it...The head sculpt, in pictures I have seen, seem off, similar the new ML 12 Inch Thor Head with helmet....Prefer ICON Hulk and Thor over the new versions of Hulk and Thor...On the fence about the new 12 inch ML DD, also...Everything on the new DD is great, But, the Icon versions says DD to me...Not hating on Hasbro, I told myself I would not buy the new ML 12 inch line, now I have Deadpool and Symbiote Spidey...Lol...And more will be got!

Only casually picking up random Legends figures nowadays, and like always, had mod ideas pop in my head. Nothing wrong with the Odinson or comic Blade figures, but I wanted updated versions for these looks more. Shot out to Hasbro for still cranking out the easy to work with base bodies to make customs like these easy.

I got one!
Elsa is one of the best figures in the set. The only thing of note is her ponytail, be gentle or be ready to glue it back on Monica is a pretty solid figure, she did need some kind of energy effects accessories though. The open hand on mine was pretty malformed out the box and her ankle pivots were both frozen. Monica and the other Marvel Divas we've gotten so far |

Visually Loki is one of the more striking figures in the set. The face is stunning, I'm nut sure if it's a new sculpt or just new paint apps, I think she looks a bit like Lana Parrilla. She seems short though and the floating boot cuffs are just as frustrating here as they were with Rogue. I'm also not a fan of her hands, they look too big. Lastly the cape.... If they never use this cape again it'll be too soon, with Loki it kind of forces her to hunch over, and it limits the shoulder and head movement Sif is pretty cool. Not a complete Angela reuse, the deco on her torso is clean. The cape is an issue. While it doesn't force Sif to hunch over like Loki it still kills the shoulder joints and with Sif it forces her head into the looking down position |

She-Hulk turned out better than I expected, considering the reused buck. I don't know if it's just the figure I got or if it's all the She-Hulk figure but moving the upper legs around to use the hinge joints is a lot easier with her than it is with Valkyrie and Thundera. This is a great Singularity figure. The colors, the glitter, the translucent plastic and metallic paint, it's exactly what this character needed. My only complaints are the face sculpt. The neutral expression isn't quite right for the character and then just like every other figure on this teen girl buck, it has the weird gap that exposes the leg cross bar. Now I really can't wait for the Walgreens Medusa |
