YEARS back i used to purchase almost everything star wars related.. but that was at time before production of all things toy related were anything close to what they are now (much less of other IPs to buy). PLUS..i don't think a good majority of the characters from Rogue 1 were as interesting of buys compared to other movies. my latest find.. Last edited by Augustus_Cole; 07-29-2017 at 04:21 AM.. |

The same happened with Marvel 3.75 figures. Several years in a row of Thor, Iron Man and Caps clogged the pegs for years. Then they were met the following year with the same characters in slight costume variations.
They also ran several lines and wound competing with themselves. The new Black Series, 5 poa 3.75" and Marvel 6" have learnt a lot from this. Now they just clump them together. Back in the day a film came out every three years. Now there is a Star Wars every Christmas and three Marvel films plus television shows on Netflix or Disney XD. The old way simply can't sustain a TT his new rapid pace. I like that they are just doing everything in mixed lots now. New, old, expanded, Rebels all in the same lines. It may be, perhaps even time to slow the number of waves per year. I know that isn't fruitful for collectors or from producers however, it may be best for retailers. If they decide to stop carrying them then we are all out. Also, we have to compete with technology. I know a lot of kids don't even bother with toys now, just on their phones by age 8. It will be interesting to see if action figures survive in another twenty years time.

Anyway, no fatigue here but then again Ive just been staying with character-focused collecting and general dabbling. |

Well, it would appear that Hasbro is tapping into the Phantom Menace toy line for ideas.

Oh man oh man oh man oh man!!!!!!!!!! Just saw the Episode VIII figures! That Luke is calling out to me. Beautiful. I like the new look General Hux. New coat and no hat. Can not WAIT to see what vehicles we get this year!!! The vehicles (and playsets but doubt we will see any of those) are my absolute favourite.
Very very very very excited seeing the new line!!! Plus that Kylo unmasked and shown on the back with a new mask was a stunner!!!

At least there are some Krennics in there, mine just has Jyn, Cassian, and Zuvio. To top it off after having them marked as $10 for like two months they put them back to full price even though none of them sold at the half price.

It does me no good when I need Revan and Sabine. Maybe Ashoka and Hera, but I've yet to see any of those four.

I hear you about not finding Revan since I have never seen any of that wave in a regular store except for yesterday I finally saw the Obi-Wan in TRU, you know Obi-Wan the guy they just released the crap out of with the 40th anniversary line. Ahsoka seems pretty well priced on Amazon right now given the figure's age, Sabine used to be a good price but at some point she jumped up, and Revan has always been nuts online. I only have Revan and Sabine because I was able to free up an evening that I then spent watching BBTS like some kind of hawk waiting for the pre-orders to open. I'm not sure exactly who we should be blaming but somebody dropped the ball big time when it came to getting that wave out to the public.

Gamestops and Thinkgeeks got the wave back in December. I've read some people claim their TRU and even Walmart got the wave. The main point is not enough stores got them period. This wave featured the fan poll winner, a popular character from a currently running cartoon, Leia, Obi-Wan in his original appearance, and two good army builders yet it was distributed like it caused leprosy. That first Rogue One wave though got spread out like it was the cure to everything so you can still find plenty of Jyn and Cassian toys gathering dust.

Did they? Only one Target ever received the first wave of the 40th figures and that was it. Never saw the first wave after that store and the second wave has yet to hit my area.

Oh. In my experience TRU and Walmart each got two cases of the 40th wave 1 and Obi-Wan didn't sell until like a month later. Naturally the R2 and Han figures were long gone before I got there. So far TRU and Walmart again each got wave 2 but only once each and each time the only figures I saw were the Jawa and Death Star guy.

A new TLJ playset for $200 was announced! Very excited to see more about this. Hopefully with HasCon being on 8 September and Force Friday 2 being on 1 September we may see HASBRO reveal some vehicles and this playset.
Also, there is to be more emphasis on vehicles this time too! I for one, am well excited about that notion. The new characters figures look really nice as well. Lastly, was happy to Stormtroopers return! I was 99% sure we would more chances to grab First Order troops, but with HASBRO one never knows. They were VERY elusive at least over in the UK. Funny, you can find the Black Series 3.75" super articulated FO troopers for a fiver, but the TFA troops with the 5 POA are really difficult to come by. Go figure.

I am hopeful we will get Kylo Ren's command shuttle that looks like a bat. That is really all I want. I am sure I will buy most of what is offered, but that is what I want. I did see the new A-Wing so I will have to pick up two of those. Could do with some new X-Wings this time as well. I hope the new giant playset is a Star Destroyer, it won't be, be I am hoping!

This might be a vague question, but I don't really have good luck keeping up with the Star Wars releases: With Force Friday coming up, what can we expect to find on the shelves???

Black series 6 inch figures for Last Jedi: Jedi training Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn in First Order disguise, and old Luke Skywalker. Not sure if it will be released on Force Friday but I've also seen an image of the Darth Vader from the Legacy pack being sold on its own in the standard black series box which matches an older leak from Gamestop. There's also figures like Thrawn and Hera Syndulla which have yet to be given solid release dates that may or may not drop on Force Friday with the Last Jedi stuff. 3.75" 5-POA figures: Jedi Rey, Kylo Ren, Finn, Poe in pilot gear, Luke, C-3PO, Chewbacca with a porg, General Hux with a mouse droid, First Order Stormtrooper, and two new characters called Rose and Paige (might've spelled some of that wrong). 3.75" scale vehicles/creatures: Ski Speeder with Poe, TIE Silencer with Kylo Ren, Resistance A-Wing with pilot, Imperial probe droid with Darth Vader, something police speeder with police officer, and Rathtar with Bala-Tik. I'm pretty sure those aren't all in the same size class and therefor not the same price range. There will also be numerous electronic oriented toys and various role-playing ones as well which I don't know enough about to detail here. Everything I've listed is just what I've heard of or seen about and might be wrong or not 100% accurate so take everything I listed as not being from an official source.
