they should bring jj back for episodes 10, 11 and 12 so he can rehash 7, 8 and 9. rehashes of rehashes.

That's kind of the point though, it's the banality of evil. This intimidating, terrifying, powerful figure is just a wrecked old man powered by spite and anger. Without his suit he isn't even the warrior he used to be as Anakin. Evil isn't cool or badass, its an ultimately self destructive, hollow sham.

He appears to be the least desired new figure in my area, I've seen at least two of him at every single store that got any new stock. If he had a removable helmet I would totally have scooped one up because I like the new clothes but that figure with just the Adam Driver head is a no-sell for me.

Like Ben Affleck as Batman, I think Abrams' ep.9 is going to make the naysayers eat their words once it comes out. I can't imagine that they're unaware of the TFA rehash criticisms and anyway this time around they don't need to hit the nostalgia angle as hard since the brand has already been re-established. But anyway for all we know, ep.8 could be a total Empire wank-fest, in that case, then yeah, more of the same unfortunately.

EDIT: Also picked up Rey and Finn Last Jedi Hot Wheels... so glad both have real nice designs and look like actual race cars; especially Finn's, his character car looks dope. Last edited by MeLikeJinx; 09-15-2017 at 05:04 PM.. |

his last three films have all been rehashes, plus he's a huge OT fanboy. not exactly someone I'd hire if I want something original.

I dunno about the last three films thing, since I don't keep up with that stuff, but I do see your point on his rehashing being due to his OT fandom. Bryan Singer had the same problem with Superman returns, and it honestly did ruin the film since if you changed the story into an original one and used the same people, that'd be a great Superman movie. However, it instead became a somewhat mediocre remake. I can see you having a similar view on the new Star Wars stuff.

Abrams has recently publicly noted that he wants to start doing more different, original things in his films in general. To paraphrase him, instead of just making remakes and such, he wants his films to be the kind that get remade. I'd imagine that desire to do more different things extends to Ep. 9.

My Walmart had all the new TLJ 3.75" black series except the red guy. 3.75" BS Luke looks kinda bad IMO... the 5POA looks way better. 3.75" BS Rose looks really great though; probably gonna buy her and just pretend she is a Joe Medic or something. They also had 5POA old Ben Kenobi... amazing sculpt IMO.

but i do love the costume/cape, pretty sure he is getting a helmet with the one coming with the display base round here someone had picked everything except a few reys. one hela and two vaders from the new black series wave, but then most shops here are still inundated with Finn's from the first force awakens wave and the wave that had the repacks of him and rey/unmasked kylo so seeing anything new was like a breath of fresh air |

I've read a few different people mentioning black series figures with bases but I haven't directly seen anything. When were these announced? Are there any pictures? I really hope they aren't more K-mart exclusives, there are zero K-marts anywhere near me.

That's very true so I'll rephrase it from "removable helmet" to "alternate head."

Edit: The fact that the helmet appears to be listed under "3: Diecast accessories" might mean it isn't an alternate head. I hope this is just me being worried because seriously Hasbro how are you like the only company not to include Kylo's helmet with your new figure as a display option?

Some of the Star Wars figures I've hijacked for my Fantasy collection
The castle needs some peasants A couple creatures living in the forest This is a custom I made years back. It resides in the cursed part of the forest Yoda obviously living in his hut in the swamp with his doppelganger nearby Rhontos seemed like it would be in an Orc camp Rancors in the caves There's always a bigger fish Thought this little guy would make a great fish-gnome like character |

Dude that's really impressive, well done.
Hi all, I have a quick question. To be honest, these new Star Wars figures have really captured my daughters attention, though I never paid too much mind once they lost articulation (I focused on the black series). But something about them, I find myself inexplicably drawn back to the figures and I'm looking to expand them. My favorite character is Jedi Knight Luke from ROTJ and I'm wondering what is the best 5 POA version of the character? I saw a set at Target that had a lot of different characters, but the Luke had his poncho on that's not the look I'm going for. |
