Thanks.
Man, it is so hard to believe that I am now looking at my orignal Figma Samus with such disdain. I absolutely loved that figure, but now when I look at it, I can't help but be disgusted. I just... I don't know. It's like every single flaw with it flared up the moment I put my hands on this new one. So with that said, how about this new one? Well, where do I start? It's freaking fantastic!! I never realized how much the Prime 2/3 suit (as they are both the same) captured all of the best aspects of Samus from the various iterations that came before. The sculping is down right excellent and I would love to see them repaint it in Gravity Suit colors even though it isn't the Super Metroid suit. I don't know why they put a hole in the regular cannon though and not the Missile one. That seems a little odd to me. Oh yeah, and despite showing it in my picture, DO NOT put the double shot beam in the cannon. After I took it out I noticed not only did yellow paint scratch off on it, but it is now cracked as if the peg is going to snap off as it was a really tight fit. The single shot beam seemed to slide in there a lot better, not sure why. The articulation is a vast improvement over the original and I love the thicker wrist peg joints. I also like how each hand comes with its own as opposed to how my ALBW Link and Pyramid Head had one joint that the hands connected to (like Figuarts do). On the weird side though, she didn't come with one of those hand holders that all of my other Figmas have come with. No idea why. I guess maybe they figured with only 3 additional hands they didn't need it? Finally, there is a the paint job, which is outstanding. It seems to have a metallic shine to it that really makes every piece pop in a color scheme that is pure perfection. I have no idea who was in charge of this figure, but they outdid themselves. I just wish it came with something other than another Morph Ball. Speaking of which, it's also a brand new sculpt rather than a repainted Morph Ball like I thought it was going to be. In fact, the outside shell are separate pieces from the inner piece, so when you have it attached to the Figma stand, you can actually spin it around if you want. Now I would love to see someone do a Screw Attack/Space Jump accessory piece that plugs into the peg hole. Overall, I am impressed. I know this was technically a 2017 figure, but I got it today, so I am counting it as a 2018 figure, and what a great way to start off the year. Now if Figma would only give us some additional characters and an accessory pack to go with her. How about a Meta Ridley or some Space Pirates?

Does anyone have the articulated World of Nintendo Diddy Kong for trade or sale? I need it for a custom project, I've got a lotta good stuff to trade for it or I can pay you haha

Hooked on a Figma:
And then I was playing around with a camera setting yesterday and liked the way these came out:

Now that I have my camera back, I can take some pictures:
Oh, and I'm pretty pissed. The wrist joint on ALBW Link broke off when I was taking these photos, and the peg is stuck in his sword wielding hand. No idea what I'm going to be able to do to fix this, but of all of the hands he has, why did it have to break in his most important one?

Great photos! I suggest getting an extremely thin drill bit and drill into the peg, you should then be able to pull/lever it out. I had a similar thing when my Link decided to do a little jump off the shelf.

I decided to repaint the columns I had for my previous Norfair Metroid display as I wanted to have something that worked for nearly everything.
Oh, and this one:

So did the 4 inch Wind Waker Link just suddenly disappear from existence? My TRU has had 5 peg warming for close to two years and now that I finally decided I was going to buy him, all five were just gone. Even the ones that were pegwarming at another TRU and my local Target have now just disappeared. WTF?

They might as well change the name of the line to World of Mario.

You would think they'd want to make more Zelda figures, what with Zelda being insanely popular and all.

I nerded out and tried to make a comprehensive list of the characters from the Mario games I want as figs: boom boom, boss bass, buzzy beetle, cheep cheep, drybones, muncher, nipper plant, pink birdo, rocky wrench, sledge bro, snifit, spike, spiny, thwomp. 8bit versions of a lot of these would be awesome, as well as standard versions.

But I'm sure they're working on more Zelda stuff coming up. Part of the problem with that could also have to do with the Popularity, if other companies are trying to negotiate with Nintendo. I do expect they'll do Beast Ganon from OoT soonish though and more BOTW stuff once they can. BOTW stuff is a little more complicated, but some more of that should be coming later too. IIRC, only direct Smash Bros stuff was off limits. But hopefully they can work around that too coming up for Ultimate. Last edited by Snowflakian; 07-24-2018 at 10:11 PM.. |

A miracle happened. I found Iggy and two Hammer Bros at Target. Snatched up both HBs just in case.

This arrived today:
I'm still thinking of buying the 3 pack that comes with Peach, but I just don't know if I really want to spend $30 on one figure even though that is what she costs by herself on the secondary market. Maybe if I had bought Toad when TRU still existed, I would pull the trigger, but right now, I'm not sure. I wish the set included someone other than Luigi like maybe a Koopa Trooper or even a couple of Goombas.
