What I'm curious about is how those Elementals work. They seem to be made from actual matter (since Spidey gets soaked) so we know they aren't holograms, but I can't imagine Mysterio is THAT powerful. I read an interesting theory online that they aren't actually illusions, but the Molten Man, Hydro Man and Sandman recruited by Mysterio so he could "defeat" them. Not sure how plausible that is since that'd put 4 villains in the film, which seems like it'd be incredibly difficult to juggle. Either way, color me excited!

Mysterio is capable of practical effects in the comics (robotics and the likes) with some impressive results so it's technically still possible that those elemental monsters are just his creations.

Don't forget that The Elementals are supposed to be in this movie- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elemen...cSxyvs1hctYWV4
So that's probably the Earth/Fire/Water creatures we see in the trailer |

I received the final part I needed in the mail yesterday to finish my Kree Sentry, and in hand, he does not disappoint! (mostly)
I was not a big fan of this wave, but I do like how this one came out. He's big and bulky enough to be intimidating, and has a balanced look that works great with updated character with just enough of that Jack Kirby classic goodness shining through. He's fairly posable, but that's also where his faults lie, as he has some serious articulation issues with his elbows (as they have little to almost no bend to them) and ankles (the rockers don't give enough lean) thanks to the giant platform boots that BM mentioned a while back. He also has almost NO paint to him...come on Hasbro, would it have cost anything to add a tiny bit of dry brushing or a wash? That said, I really would love to army build this guy, but the costs of BAFs these days (the fact that this is a pretty rubbish wave as well) make it not really economically feasible. As I've said many times before, he also makes a great stand in for a smaller sized Sentinel type drone, and looks just as great alongside X-Men characters as he will alongside your cosmic ranks. |

^^ he actually does look decent there...
i realize as time goes on i'm enjoying MCU figs a lot more than comic figs...but they may be due to the fact that they are really scraping the bottom of the barrel with a lot of the recent and upcoming comic releases. and with such C and D list characters coming out...I sure would like a Blue Marvel and an America Chavez (not that i think THEY are C or D list) |

if this panther wave had put Shuri in this one and not given us the same panther again..they would have knocked it clean out the park!! to me these are two very lackluster waves. I JUST saw the 6 armed spider-man in person and NO THANKS.. Dwayne-Wade..HA!... Last edited by Augustus_Cole; 01-15-2019 at 06:03 PM.. |

I'm feeling the same way. They're definitely padding the comic book lines out with a lot of filler so they can release the good stuff later. X-Men is probably the exception to this.
I think it's no question that the strongest of the 3 waves to release this month was the Black Panther wave. (I'm guilty of a filler character desire myself here or there because my symbiote obsession is more of a sickness...but seriously...The Whizzer? Grizzly? Black Swan?...come on man. Do we really want these guys congesting toy pegs for months?) I think the Kingpin wave is the stronger of the three waves honestly. More original figures with less retreads than the other waves, plus a deluxe sized BAF that's actually poseable from what I've seen. The serious amount of double dipping on the Panther wave hurt it in my eyes, and the Captain Marvel wave was just poopy...filler characters included. Ease of manufacture also probably factors into the obscure characters who get. Something like Grey Gargoyle or Blizzard seems fairly easy and cheap to put together.
Same. |

I need a classic whizzer and grizzly is so high on my want list because thatd only be three left to finish out the six pack (they can release gw bridge, kaine and hammer with chair as a tri pack) and release a blue marvel and whizzer two pack.

For those of you who still haven't picked up the Claire/Luke Cage two pack...start checking your Gamestops. First time I've actually run into one in the wild... |

It's funny you say that...because I see some many requests for filler characters on the various wishlists that pop up here every other day, and then people complain when they get them because...well, they are filler.

The serious amount of double dipping on the Panther wave hurt it in my eyes, and the Captain Marvel wave was just poopy...filler characters included. What I consider the "real" filler characters are many of the modern characters/costumes that are basically guaranteed to be obsolete in a few months (if they aren't already), so Hasbro has to rush them out before interest completely wanes. Then we're left wondering why they gave us an obscure costume that appeared in like 6 panels over a highly requested character that's needed to complete a team they've already started |

I was at Gamestop today and they didn't have a single Legend instock. In fact, no one anywhere has started to stock any new product for Legends.

That headsculpt would probably look really good on the two pack Killmonger, since the gold accents are so prominent on that one. I'm assuming that's the regular version of Killmonger right? Or is it the two pack version, with the accents covered up by the wrap?

I probably missed this if it has been brought up, but how does everyone feel about the new packaging?
Both Black Panther and Captain Marvel waves no longer have the window glued to the package. I was able to remove my Nick Fury completely without even damaging the package. To me this is a step in the wrong direction. Why make it easier for thieves to get into your brand new packages? I would be all for returning to the big plastic clamshell from Toybiz days. The vintage stuff works too, but since they don't have BAFs they are rarely tampered with. |

@Triv - It looks to be the original Killmonger, you can see the leopard print.
Got one of my Sentries yesterday, it's pretty small. Glad I have another on the way to bolster the ranks because just one isn’t going to be enough. Outside of being diminutive, I’m happy - despite the EDM boots. Triv, your observation noting the absence of paint in lieu of colored plastic is correct. It’s appealing, to me, and it’s consistent with what Hasbro has done with other cosmic heroes. Beyond the sometimes gummy texture, I've always enjoyed the swirly plastic as faux-metal. It’s official, the Netflix Cage fists are ostensibly a match in scale for Namor and the other figs that share that mid-large body mold. Now I’ll need to start the search for Testors paints to match Namor (& Wondy) and two more SDCC cage figs. Or I could wait for Hasbro to realize that they’ve made a near perfect match and serve them up with a character with similar skin tones to that of Namor or Wonder Man…Yeaaaah, I shan’t hold my breath. it's exactly as he said. the outermost shell is no longer connected to the box. it comes out when you take the entire plastic backing out as well. AND exactly as he said...it can make it EVER easier for people to steal BAF parts\accessories because technically one could remove, pull, bend, cut the outer piece away. so so sorry to hear that.......

By eliminating the glue, the plastic and cardboard can be easily separated for disposal. But that's just a guess on my part. Or it could be an experiment to see how people respond to new packaging. I'd imagine the cost-to-profit thing comes into play as well.
