I think FB actually does have rules against raffles because it is technically on-line gambling. FB groups that do then regularly usually use code words to avoid drawing interest of the FB police. Lolz. I have a friend in a bunch of Pop raffle groups and he's won some pretty rare items for cheap. Guess it just depends hirde much you are willing to... gamble

So I'm thinking of making some customs for my own collection and just wondering of what would best fit in terms of parts.
I'd like to finish off Starforce from Captain Marvel so I'm thinking of a modified T'Challa head and a Yon-Rogg body for a Korath, not sure who's head I should use for Att-Lass or Bron-Char. Not many epic-beard faces in Legends figures to get Bron-Char to work and I think the Odin BAF head is too big. |

I probably would have snatched one up JUST for the rifle and kept the extra Petey head just for the shit of it... Then resold the pack sans the head and rifle.

Managed to grab a bunch of Legends from Walgreens before the Easter holiday (which...btw...Happy Easter!) so here's a couple of thoughts on them, since they are some of the most anticipated figures of the year in the X-Men wave and Infamous Iron Man (Doom).
Let's start out with the exclusive... Infamous Iron Man (Dr. Doom): I'm gonna just put this out there right now...out of all the pick ups I had last week, this one was my favorite. Not only is it a pretty daft repaint of one of the better Iron Man figures that we've ever received, he comes with a ton of stuff, which even if they are re-used bits, really spruce up the figure quite a bit. The cape is REALLY well sculpted too. If you have the Okoye wave Iron Man, you know what to expect. It is not without complaints though, and nearly all of them come in execution. First off, the hood portion is glued to the armored helmet underneath, meaning there's no folding it back or removing it. In addition, the cape has no peg on it, meaning it lays flat on the shoulders in a way similar to the Ragnarok Loki. It's very fidgety and falls off if you look at it funny, and you will need the hooded head to kinda hold it down onto the shoulders. This is a rare case in which I honestly would have preferred soft goods over sculpted ones. I also wish that the effects would have been casted in a clear green matching the color scheme of the figure. They work well with the figure, but the reddish purple/pink just feels off to me. Those gripes aside, it's a great figure, and I highly recommend it. I'm tempted to army build it honestly...because I also feel it would make a great Doombot for when we receive an updated Doom, which I know will be most likely coming soon. Speaking of Doom...here's how he compares with the old one. For those of you wondering...I haven't tried a headswap between the old Doom and the new one, simply because it looks like it would take a bit of work due to differing head sizes. I would hate to damage that old figure before we have confirmation of a new one. I'll leave that up to the professionals. |

you know...i didn't pay attention to that rifle when i saw it in the store...only after the fact when looking at pics of it.

Time to start stalking Walgreens again... They finally got all the old Rite-Aids switched over around here, so I’ll have more chances to find these exclusives. |

Kraven's expression is based on how he looks in "Kraven's Last Hunt" when hes going through a mental breakdown and grinning like a lunatic for much of it

Molten Man Vs. Clayface: Whoever wins... We all lose.
(Because they're both nausea-inducing)

Nice to see the classic Scorpion! Really hope we get a classic Vulture at some point to so we will have nearly all the classic comic based villains :-)

According to Dorkside's Instagram, preorders for the next Spider-Man wave should go live tonight.

While grocery shopping last night I happened upon a fresh case of the X-Men wave so I got Beast, Blink, and Gambit. I already knew I was going to want Beast and Blink but I caved on Gambit in store because despite his stupid hair it's a good looking figure. Beast was my big want from the wave and he's great but definitely could have been better. An alternate head would have gone a long way since with his given expression I feel obliged to display him in a feral action pose even though that may not have been my initial preference. It's a good head for being an angry beastly Beast but that's all it's for. His hand selection is also wonky as there are no pairings of anything, each hand is just kind of doing its own thing randomly. Still, the base figure itself is really well done in terms of sculpt, articulation, and paint (minimal as it appears to be) so I'm happy with it. Blink doesn't have a whole terrible lot going on but what she has is going great. The entire head is an excellent delivery of the character with what I think is an entirely new sculpt and some sharp paint that pops. Her body is then basically all reused parts as is tradition with the exception of her sculpted collar-thing and her skirt/sash-belt piece but honestly Blink never had a very complicated outfit so there's nothing wrong with recycling pieces. Probably my only issue with the figure is that her portal ring base can be an issue with fitting her into groups. Gambit was an impulse buy as I do like the character (he's a guy who throws things hard) but going back to the toy's reveal I never liked this stupid swept hair. Seeing it in hand though I just really dig everything else about the figure. So yes he has stupid looking hair but at the same time his energy card pieces are cool and all of the rest of the toy from the hairline down has nice paintwork and sculpting.

Wow. Spidey went from Kingpin to that thing for their BAF... that has to be the biggest downgrade ever.

So I'm seeing that Hydro-Man doesn't come with regular arms...ugh why does Hasbro do this? Lol
On the other hand, Mysterio looks freakin' awesome! Molten Man looks like Clayface as everyone else has said. Don't know how much I want this figure, it depends on how he's portrayed in the movie. But I guess I'll end up with this figure regardless because I want everything else in the wave besides Doppelganger. |
