I am so ticked off that Hasbro decided to short pack Lord Zedd with the Lightning line. No place has been carrying him for pre-order except for Pulse, and of course, they sold out in minutes. I'm glad that they are providing Tommy's for everyone with the heavy handed pack...but to short pack one of the longest tenured Ranger villains seems like a huge oversight. |

https://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/...fie/ar-BBWaQRO So I ran into a couple of the Walmart Endgame displays today...which allowed me to finally spot Ronin in the wild and I figured...why not...and grabbed him, as he makes a great generic ninja if you remove the coat, and can be nice custom base. What blows me away though about the display, is how much wasted space it is...and not because it carries a variety of other products, but because it is seriously inefficient with the amount of Legends product it carries. The Legends is only about 1/4 of the entire display, and is filled in a way that makes it 90 percent cardboard. There are compartments that house 4 figures total, while some that can only fit a single figure. WTF?!? In comparison, when Mattel did their Wrestlemania endcap displays at Walmart just before Wrestlemania this year, those displays were loaded from front to back in every compartment with basic and Elite figures from 2 different waves, not to mention 2 packs, toy championship belts and store exclusives, making it super easy to find whatever it was you were looking for. Why Hasbro would shortchange their Legends line by giving its portion mostly air and packed out cardboard really has me dumbfounded. |

Gorillas are such awesome creatures. It's a damn shame how shitty we as humans can be that they require our protection. Poachers should seriously be treated no differently as a human murderer, because when you look into the eyes of a gorilla, there is almost something undeniably human about them.

Got shipping confirmation from Target for the Symbiote SM & Kraven set. Due to arrive in about a week. While I'd have preferred a neutral expression on Kraven, I'm not about to pay after-market prices for the Rhino BAF version. Plus, I much prefer this black-suited Spidey to the Kingpin one.

I know everyone is blasting the Molten Man figure, and yes it is literally a steaming pile, but I am glad they are taking a different approach for him than the comics version. I mean do we really need a gold metal dude in gold tightey whiteys and a flat top?? Let me go get that Ex-Nillio figure and put a Nuke head on it and paint the head and there you go. Comic molten man. I still think the movie Molten, Hydro, and Sand man are all illusions by Mysterio, or else he payed some guys with powers to fake attack him. Either way. I'm ok.
Now where is my damn Sleepwalker figure ???? I'm looking at you Spider Man Legends. |

Yep...that custom pretty much nailed it. Looks good too! Catching up on my acquisitions, here's a couple of thoughts on two figures from the X-Men wave that I picked up from Walgreens last week...Jubilee and Beast. Jubilee: Lemme just get this outta the way, it was a really cruel joke by Hasbro sticking Jubilee as a BAF for a very scarce wave that was also a store exclusive....but then for it to also be closer to the vampire version of the character? Double whammy... Well, after all these years, Hasbro has finally given us the version most of us grew up with and loved, and she's (mostly) pretty darn good. Hasbro could have went lazy with this figure and reused the headsculpt from the original figure (more on that later) but instead, we get two new headsculpts, including a bubblegum blowing one that screams personality. The body sculpt is mostly new as well, and since it's a teen body, could probably be converted into some great teen figure customs. I love the way the shirt, pants and boots came out, and I have to tip my hat to Hasbro on the color selections. They hit it out of the park. But it has a couple of glaring flaws. No firework effects? Seriously? Two pairs of glasses, but they don't peg onto the head, and the glasses on the static head aren't removable unless you pry them off the head, as they are glued. My static head also had some derpy eyes behind those glasses. For some reason, they gave Jubilee a hand that features a roll of the dice motion as well, which leaves her left hand in a somewhat awkward pose. And finally...(and this one drives me crazy) the new Jubilee has a neck peg that is not compatible with the head from the BAF. To make matters worse, the new heads are sculpted somewhat short on the back, exposing the neck peg quite hideously if you look at the figure from the back, as the neck collar on the jacket is not quite high enough to hide it. Here she is next to the BAF, in case you were wondering: These issues aside...she's pretty good...and it's one re-issue I'm glad to have. Beast: Toe articulation! Holy crap! Is this a Toy Biz figure? This one is probably one of the most anticipated figure in the wave, but for me, it's also easily the most disappointing. My bias for the cat version of Beast aside, I'm gonna point out the elephant in the room...this head sculpt sucks. I hate it. The eyes and teeth are poorly painted, and the eyes feel WAY too small. I'm thinking (or hoping) that Hasbro will release another, more static or calm headsculpt to include with another figure or set in the future, because this one blows. I'd love to get one of Hank wearing his glasses, and of course, in his cat form. The wash and drybrushing is nice, but it's also uneven in some areas...or non-existent (like on the toes) leaving the figure feeling a bit unfinished. Like En Sabah mentioned, there's no matching set of hands, and while the articulation is very good on this figure, the joints on mine were a bit loose, particularly on the arms. The plastic has a really strange, semi soft feel to it as well, and I honestly feel like the figure is a bit too big in comparison to the average Legends figure. I feel that the Toybiz version from the X-men Classics line captured Beast's size a little better. I really wanted to like this figure more, but the execution for me just wasn't there. If Hasbro gives us another headsculpt for it in the future, I will clear up a good amount of the issues I have with it, but until then, I still feel that ToyBiz's X-Men Classics figure is superior to this one, despite the wet-suited attire. |

Disappointed to hear the neck peg issues with Jubilee. Hasbro is getting too lazy with their quality with some of these recent waves. That’s an easy and entirely avoidable mistake.

Yeah, Beast is a let down having no alt head, for my Danger Room display I'll definitely be keeping Toybiz Beast (not CatBeast... sorry TP- I hate CatBeast - and everything about Grant Morrison's Secondary Mutation crap-) But now at least I have a Beast for my Defenders team and I might eventually grab a second for the Avengers as well...

I wasn't really hunting (joke intended) for this set as much as other items out now but when I saw my local Target had them listed as in stock online I asked them to get one out of the back for me anyway. Spidey is really just a re-issue of the symbiote figure from the Sandman wave that I already own so he wasn't really a big draw for the set. It's the same toy but with a slightly more matte black plastic and the spider emblem is less angular and pointed than the individual release. The alt Peter head is just kind of off-putting for the set, like he's really into getting pummeled by a half-nude Russian psycho. Kraven is the reason to consider getting this set. If you're a fan of the classic style leopard-print pants Kraven (which I happen to be) then I think it's a good redo for the character since his original release isn't exactly gathering dust at any stores. His expression is total savage hunter mode which will be a deterrent to some people but I find it rather fitting. He still comes with his spear like the individual but now in less dull colors and he comes with a pretty well made rifle that isn't rubbery or too stiff. Overall it's a pretty good value especially if you don't have either character/costume and it is based on one of Spidey's most celebrated stories so I'm glad I cared enough to get it. I'm also a big fan of them actually using the comic art for the packaging side-art and the insert.

notes from previous posts..
1. i can def sell my BAF Jubilee since i like this new one a lot better and have no love for the old one. 2. I too HATTTTTTE that Cat-Beast version of Beast, Always have. 3. If for some reason someone that gets the Spidey\Kraven two pack doesn't need the rifle... hit me up to sell or trade.. 4. While that new Beast is nice..i think it... like Psylocke, missed the mark of being a truly remarkable figure, like they needed to be.
