So I decided randomly to stop in a Target last Friday and when I looked through everything I couldn't believe the Far From home two pack was already out! I decided to go ahead and get it since the QR suits were such a pain to get. I checked the price before I headed to checkout and showed up as $39.99, that what I figured it would be, but you never know when new stuff hits. I go to Uscan and ring it up last out of my cart and the machine gives me a big pop up that says can't sell the last item...
The person working those checkouts comes over scans their badge and tries to ring it up again and hands it back to me. When she scans it, the screen pops up that it can't be sold until 5/31. As we are reading the screen together the toy still in hand her manager walks up snatches the two pack from my hands and just keeps walking... Didn't even make eye contact. The employee realized how rude it was and was fumbling to explain that there was no way they can sell it until that date I mean I understand street dates and wouldn't expect them to sell it to me if that was the case in their system, but the manager snatching it from me and just kept walking really irked me! I told the cashier that they had three more sitting on their shelf in the toys and paid for my other stuff. Then on Sunday me and my toy hunting friend hit two different targets and both of them had the FFH two packs on their shelves...it was like it was taunting me all weekend. If that pack ends up being hard to find I will not be a happy camper. So I think that the street date must have not been plastered all over the box, because it was weird to see three different stores all make the same mistake. Just in case I tried to purchase at the first target we went to on Sunday and was again told it could not be sold until 5/31. I didn't try at the third one because I had already accepted defeat.. |

The Toybiz one still holds up pretty well I feel, so pardon my ignorance if I don't understand all the hate for this new figure in his modern look. By the way...US IN HAND auctions for the new Beta Ray as well as other 2nd wave Endgame figures are already starting to filter into ebay. Won't be long till we see them in the wild... |

Re: Beta Ray William
I don't think people think there is anything WRONG with it. it matches his current look... BUT.. .there seems to be a consensus that we'd prefer an update of his original (or most popular) comic book look. I like and will buy the new one.. but if I had a preference..I'd still want the original updated first.

Walt Simonson actually goes to my local comic store. He's a great guy to talk to. I should ask him what he thinks of Bill's new look.

I actually like the Loki and Bill, but I would have preferred some sculpted detail on Loki. As for Bill, the new look is ok, but not my favorite. I'm wondering if his arms and head will work with that 80th anniversary Thor that is coming out. That might make a decent custom.
In my opinion, the Marvel Studios: Thor The Mighty Avenger – Loki fig is vastly superior even with less articulation. The previous version has some real funky hips with no thigh cut and craptacular ankles - no doubt – but the sculpted detail and stellar canon face more than make up for those small warts. Beyond the bad taste the simplistic paint-deco leaves, his horns should have been better, which I only bring up because it wouldn’t have been very difficult to nail that. The face also should have been reasonably easy to cobble; even Malekith has a more sinister and effective sneer…and what’s with the overbite? The eyes look to be set a little wider apart than I’d like; aesthetically speaking, he fuglier than he should be. Additionally, I could also do with some spell casting hands. I know most moviegoers are used to seeing Loki wield throwing daggers (???), but Loki is sorta adept at that stuff they call magic – contrary to MCU Dr Strange trapping him in an endless ‘falling spell’ (apparently the Russos don’t realize that he casts far more spells than just illusions…he’s a god of magic, someone should have told them...). Just to address the elephant in the room...this seems to be a common theme with the upcoming Bill...which I don't get. What's wrong exactly with the new one?

I can’t begin to tell you what others think is wrong with Bill, but the fig misses the mark for this fan for a litany of reasons. I think it’s pretty fair to say that this outfit isn’t a fav among the Beta Ray faithful and while I’m one that generally digs understatement, boring is another matter entirely which is what this set of duds amounts to. If they were going to avoid a classic Bill, I would have much preferred the semi-obscure Di Vitto redraft at the end of the Stormbreaker Saga. Speaking of Stormbreaker, that’s not any Strombreaker I’m familiar with, as the haft is way too long and the hammer itself is laughably enormous (made all the more comedic given the strap at the end intended to swing around what is now functionally an oversized war-hammer). All of that without scratching the potential scale issues. Bill has typically been portrayed as significantly larger than Thor and given that this fig looks to be on the Hyperion mold, the most we can optimistically hope for is ‘as big’ as Thor. And if the new Thor fig uses the arms from Herc, as I suspect it might, then Bill will have little dinky arms in comparison adding further insult to injury. Many of us have been waiting quite a while for a new Bill, looks like will be waiting still…but for the rest of you all, enjoy. |

Probably. I'm not invested in the movies, so I wouldn't really know...If it was Waititi, whom I like from What we do in the shadows (hilarious)...fuck 'im for turning the Hulk and Thor's most somber storylines into Abbott and Costello meet the Grand-masseur..
Just the characters and books for me...and only books from 2008 backwards, at that... Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 05-22-2019 at 03:51 PM.. |

@Kamen
Well, obviously, that's a matter of opinion. I'd give it 'entertaining.' Were it truly Raganarok, would Thor be smiling and cutting it up with anyone let alone the Hulk trapped on Sakaar? Lol now that's rich, I guess Waititi made me laugh after all... @Kain And you 'should' not bother with me...we've covered this ground before...I don't change my tune. I see random figures tossed into each wave, I was wondering if we may ever see characters from Age of Apocalypse or 2099. I would love to get an updated Sunfire or a Ghostrider 2099. Sunfire would basically only really need to be a regular figure with clear orange plastic with a new molded head and the neck ring and Ghostrider 2099 can be made from a Colossus figure with a Ghostrider Head, Cable boots and some rubber parts for a biker jacket and wires... Okay plus the chainsaw replacement hand. I know Ghostrider 2099 was obscure and from way back in the past but not more obscure than some of the more recent peg warmers that I am seeing. I would love to build them myself but i feel like my customs are a bit delicate and would only be for display. Any ideas? 2020?

Random question has anyone heard from Captain Nash lately?
He is usually pretty active on here, but hasn't posted in over a month. We were working on a deal together and as much as I want to the deal to be completed I am more concerned something happened to him. Hopefully all is well, and neither one of us had sent money or figures so no one is out anything. Just a bit concerned for a fellow collector. |

Come to think of it, it has been a while since Nash was here. I seem to remember him saying that he'd be taking some time away, either from the forums or the collecting game, but I may be mistaken.
Either way, I hope he's doing well.

He's behind Skullbuster on the left. There wasn't any other image to find but what I can see already makes me wanna do the headswap. Just need to find that wave and a Prof X. Quote:

Anyway does anyone happen to have Armored Thanos parts for trade? Or That Black widow/Hawkeye Endgame two pack for trade? I’m mainly looking for the Black widow head. |
