As nice as that would be, I still say a light cycle should be priority for the next build-a-thing, or preferrably as a separate release in 3 different colors (yellow, red, and blue). At the very least, they should do the yellow light cycle with Flynn in his blue colors as a pack-in figure. If this line has any long term legs beyond a 2nd wave, then yes the MCP would be the next logical big thing to do after we get a light cycle.

Wow. My all-time toy grails keep getting checked off one by one over the recent years:
- A whole line of Aliens figures? Check. (NECA) - Same for Predator? Check. (NECA) - TMNT 1990 movie figures in 7-inch scale? Check! (NECA) - Star Wars in 1/12 scale? Check. (Hasbro + Bandai + Figuarts) - Marvel and DC superheroes in 1/12 scale? Check and check (Hasbro + Figuarts + MAFEX) - TRON figures? Getting there! (DST) All I'd need now (besides more space) are: - Original "V" 6 or 7-inch scale figures - '80 cartoon Dungeons & Dragons 1/12 scale figures

Yeah I'm continually amazed that Hasbro is neglecting a big money maker by not resurrecting the 80s cartoon versions of GI Joe as a 6" Black Series style line of figures. I'd be all over that. They could easily cover all the best characters in around 30 figures over the span of 2-3 years. Yet instead they've allowed one of their all time biggest toy brands to flounder in the last few years due to poor reception of the last GI Joe film.
In the mean time, im making my own 6" Joes LOL Already have 3 made, 3 more to go Last edited by Vamp; 05-26-2019 at 05:25 PM.. |

Me: Oh yeah, I'd collect that in a heartbeat!
My wallet: Another line of figures to collect?!? Hell no!

So much potential for collectors, so much money to be made by Hasbro. I really don't understand why this is not a reality yet.

Agreed. GI Joe has a plethora of available characters ready to be made in 6-inch scale. Just imagine Cobra Commander, Snake Eyes, Destro, Duke, Baroness, Scarlett, Storm Shadow, Dodger, Zartan... Accessories, alternate hands and heads, small vehicles (maybe to be assembled in BAF fashion), etc.

I wonder if Hasbro reads these posts. What I'm seeing is that there is definitely a market for 1/12 scale GI Joe figures. Star Wars black series figures were a success but, the market for those figures has cooled off a bit. It may pick up a bit when figs for the new movie come out but, collectors are hungry for something new & different. After all how many Darth Vaders does one need? There is a huge untapped market in the GI Joe figures. I know I would be very interested in Black Series style GI Joe figures. Seems like a no brainier to me.

So... no sign of the Tron figures at SDCC yet. Odd considering they're due out in about a month or so, and there have been no actual images beyond the ones shown here...

They were mentioned during an interview with zach oat, they're still coming out but they didn't have the figures on hand to show. Also he mentioned there's going to be 4 figures with Flynn in his regular colors as an exclusive.

Exclusive? Dang. I assume something like Gamestop. Would rather the red had been the exclusive, but I guess they know if it's the blue it will have higher demand. Still seems odd that they didn't have the figures even though they're due soon. Would have been a great chance to promote them.

The exclusive will be at Walgreens. And yeah, red as the exclusive makes much more sense but whatever.
