For your viewing pleasure we have a comparative review of the US and Canadian versions of the Polar SHARC With Ice Storm set from the 3rd wave of GI Joe Rise Of Cobra alpha vehicles. While wave 3 has yet to reach widespread release in the USA, the wave has been found in several places in Canada. Of all the wave 3 vehicles, the Polar SHARC was the newest, and thus, the highlight of this wave.

HISS Tank boards member Gyre-Viper has posted several images of the upcoming City Strike Alley Viper from the 1st wave of GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra. The 1st troop builder of the line, this version of the venerable Alley Viper comes with appropriate gear for the City Strike theme, including different helmets and the Resolute Alley Viper, armor plated head sculpt.
This time around, the problem with the backpack and grapple gun has been fixed; the gun no longer falls off! With colors definitely evocative of Cobra, and the fixed gun/backpack, could this be the most popular version of the Alley Viper ever produced? Today, 2 exclusive figures from the GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra line were available to order at Toys R Us' site:Both figures are now listed as "out of stock/temporarily unavailable". However, it is entirely possible that the items may show up early at TRU brick & mortar stores. The 1st wave of Transformers Generations figures were announced for an August release but showed up earlier this week at Toys R Us. Bear in mind that the Generations wave in question is not exclusive to Toys R Us, but has only showed up at there in the US so far. Not to mention, order pages for the War For Cybertron versions of Bumblebee & Optimus Prime went up earlier this month and fans who ordered them received their orders prior to the arrival of Generations wave 1 at brick & mortar stores.
July 1st is the next date that comes to mind, as another Hasbro release is scheduled for that day(according to Hasbro); Masterpiece Grimlock! Could the 2 Toys R Us exclusive Pursuit Of Cobra figures, and *possibly* the 1st wave of POC figures be available at TRU on July 1st? Who knows, but stay tuned, as we'll find out for sure later this week! |

A preproduction sample of the elusive Jungle Assault Snake Eyes from GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra has just turned up on Ebay via an auction by chinafigures. This figure was not present at JoeCon 2010 and was previously only seen in official imagery by Hasbro. This is the 1st time we have seen it loose.
As far as we know, this figure is still on tap for wave 2 of Pursuit Of Cobra. The armor plating on the lower limbs is evocative of none other than Snake Eyes' own apprentice, Kamakura! Could a new version of Kamakura using these new parts be in the works for the future? Hit the thumbnail to take a closer look! |

Target has released their target date for the launch of GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra at their stores! Pursuit Of Cobra will launch on August 1st 2010! Bear in mind some items may be released a bit earlier but we'd advise not to go on this Pursuit Of Cobra just yet. If anything, we have just a few weeks left to wait!
Thanks to HISS Tank boards member kennywr22 for the heads up. |

2011 is months away, but the latter half of GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra is set to be released by spring. Now we've seen some new tooling debut in the 1st wave(s) of Pursuit Of Cobra, be it from the conventions, official Hasbro imagery, prepro images, et al. By now most everyone realizes that Hasbro has to recoup the money invested in tooling said molds, especially new ones, and thus this is the reason for repaints and retooled molds. It's something that by now, the fandom is used to.
One figure that sticks out is the Jungle Viper designed by John Warden. This figure was a shocking, yet very pleasant surprise at JoeCon 2009, and will be released later this fall(a year after it's unveiling). It doesn't stop there. Will 1 be enough? Certainly not(in the eyes of fans) as most of the 'Tankers here want to buy multiples to army build(and some already have from auction sites). It's evocative of the Night Viper but with a ton more stuff, especially new weapons/accessories. Could another version be possible? Perhaps. While perusing the Pursuit Of Cobra wave 1 listings at Entertainment Earth, nearly every figure in wave 1 has designation numbers, except for the Alley Viper. Okay, so this might mean that the Alley Viper we are getting single carded, is the only Alley Viper we'll see in the near future(bear in mind that the one with the Cobra Fury is labeled Alley Viper Officer). So then the listings for wave 2 were looked at, and noticeably the Jungle Viper V1 listing is there. Okay so a Jungle Assault Jungle Viper is in wave 2 but we knew that. Did we know it was a V1? Yes. Does this mean another might be planned? Would anyone put it past Hasbro to repaint this already fan-favorite army building troop decimator? Judging by Hasbro's actions in the past few years, it's a high possibility, especially since this is a new mold that hasn't been used much. *BTW, it seems that Hasbro is planning to release more repainted/retooled figures in the future, as noted by the BotCon 2010 reports at sister site TFW2005. Many of the new figures announced this past Sunday already have planned repaints with new head sculpts, some as different characters. It isn't a stretch to see Hasbro start this with GI Joe; in many ways it already has started.* Most importantly, is a Jungle Viper V2 something all of you would want? |

Don't go running out yet folks, a *few* Toys R Us stores have released GI Joe Pursuit Of Cobra toys! HISS Tank boards member Skull found the HISS Tank V5 with HISS Driver and Wolf Hound with Whiteout today at Toys R Us in Yonkers, New York. In addition, Steel Brigade's brother(2005 boards member Powered Convoy) has also purchased the HISS Tank and other Pursuit Of Cobra stuff. Looks like the early release came true!
For photographic evidence, hit the title bar! Will the release be more widespread by July 1st? Help each other out by posting your sightings in our: GI Joe Sightings Forum! |

Steel Brigade was one of the few 'Tankers to get some Pursuit Of Cobra goodness today, unlike a certain unnamed admin here who should have listened to his own advice and not rush out because he found nothing. Anyways, the Wolf Hound with Whiteout was one of the bravo vehicles that Steel Brigade was able to obtain, and he has posted some sneak preview images of this vehicle.
It's the return of the iconic Snow Cat, albeit with different parts than the original. Nonetheless, some aspects reminiscent of the vintage line are intact:
