Transformers artist Don Figueroa has updated his deviantART page with the first four pages of what would have been Dreamwave Production's Transformers #11. The issue was never released, as Dreamwave ceased operations in 2005. The pages illustrate that Issue #11 would have started with the development of the Autobot Moon Base on Cybertron and the continued development of the Quintesson/Fembot story.

Artist Marcelo Matere has updated his deviantART blog with inked line art that was created for the packaging for the Transformers Universe two-pack of Victory Saber and Dessarus (better known as Deathsaurus). The two-pack was part of the last wave of Robot Heroes scheduled to be released in the Transformers Universe 2.0 line and was unfortunately cancelled. A packaged version of the two-pack did surface on the internet, which shows that another set of images was chosen to be included on the packaging instead of the ones shown here.
Check out the image of the unused line art by clicking on the thumbnail to the left. |

We really don't get into the habit of posting too many rumors on our frontpage, but we do have a News and Rumors forum so we tend to see a bit of both during daily discussion. This one we are filling under rumor for now, but it was just too good to pass up and comes from a very reliable member of our community.
TFW2005 Boards member S250 had sent out a Twitter post (or as the kids call it, a "Tweet") hinting at a possibility of a Classics Prowl repaint as G2 Rapido for this year's BotCon. You can see that Twitter post here. Please note that S250 has already responded to a follow-up question stating that it is only a rumor to him as well, but as soon as we know more we will definitely provide our readers with an update. Stay tuned to TFW2005 for the latest developments with BotCon 2010, and in the meantime you can join the speculation in our discussion forum. |

The latest edition of Figure-Oh contains a short write up on the soon to debut Japanese dub of Transformers Animated, containing a listing of the first four episodes and a cast list for all the major characters appearing in the first three episodes (as a certain monotone Decepticon is not listed).
The series in Japan kicks off with the three part "Transform and Roll Out" as in the US, renaming the three parts "New Chapter! Transformers", "Hero, The name is Autobot" and "Secret of the Allspark" respectively. The plot outlines accompanying each episode appears to indicate no major changes to the plot. Episode four, however, skips ahead - instead of the original US episode four, Japan gets episode 10, "Sound and Fury", here retitled to the slightly less imaginative "Operation: Soundwave". Again the synopsis suggests that there is no major change to the structure of the episode, aside from it being bumped to a much earlier point in the series in line with what we heard that episodes featuring key characters would be brought forward. In addition, we have some casting news, a full breakdown of which can be accessed by clicking on the title of this story. The new voice actors announced continues the trend of bringing in respected veteran voice actors with a wide range of experience from many different anime series as a part of an all-star cast. Of particular note are Jin Yamanoi as Starscream and Ryoka Uzuki as Blackarachnia, who are reprising their roles from the Japanese dubs of Transformers Armada and Beast Wars respectively. Many thanks to 2005 Boards member DrillBIT for providing translations. Do you approve of this cast list and their extensive list of past credits? What do you make of the relocation of the all-important Japanese debut of Professor Princess to the earliest possible occasion. Discuss this, and everything else relating to this news on our 2005 Boards by clicking discuss. In addition, we have some casting news. Alongside the previously posted credits that confirmed Optimus Prime being voiced by Hiroki Takahashi and Bumblebee by Daisuke Kishio, the article gives a full Japanese voice actor listing for the pilot episodes. On the Autobot side, Ratchet will be voiced by Toru Okawa, who also provided the voice of Armada Optimus Prime in the Japanese Micron Legend series; Ironhide (formerly Bulkhead) will be voiced by Kenta Miyake, who voiced Landmine and Omega Supreme in the Japanese dub of Transformers Energon; Prowl will be voiced by Kouji Yusa, who provided the voice of Demolishor in the Japanese dub of Transformers Armada and Energon. The Autobot side's voice actors are rounded out by Banjo Ginga as Ultra Magnus, Junichi Suwabe as Sentinel Prime, and Ayahi Takagaki providing the voice of the Teletraan I computer system. On the Decepticon side, along with the previously confirmed Norio Wakamoto as Megatron, we have Jin Yamanoi as Starscream, who is no stranger to Starscream having voiced him in the Japanese dub of Transformers Armada along with Tidal Wave; Blitzwing will be voiced by Cho aka Shigeru Nagashima while Lugnut will be voiced by Kentaro Itou. Ryoka Uzuki reprises her role from Beast Wars as Blackarachnia to round out the currently announced Decepticon cast. Three human voice actors have also been announced - Sari as previously revealed will be voiced by Satomi Akesaka, with Isaac Sumdac voiced by Takashi Nagasako and Captain Fanzone voiced by Nobuo Tobita. Many thanks to 2005 Boards member DrillBIT for providing translations. Do you approve of this cast list and their extensive list of past credits? Seibertron reports that Sega of Japan is set to release two Transformers Animated Arcade games.
One game is called "Transformers Animated: The Chase" and one is called "Transformers Animated: The Shooting". The only thing that was gathered from this report is that "The Chase" may be a racing game of sorts while "The Shooting" is most likely an on-rails shooter. (Please note all of this is based off of the translation provided in the discussion thread, click on DISCUSS for more). More details are to be revealed at the upcoming 2010 Tokyo International Anime Fair on March 25th. You can check out the original post by clicking here. |

A photo set of Hasbro's version of Masterpiece Grimlock featuring some comparison shots has been posted at ACToys. The toy does not feature many of the snazzy accessories from the Takara release, and has a slight difference in aesthetic with some changes in color on the thighs, additional paint applications and stickers, and some flattened teeth in dino mode. Take a look at all the images by clicking on the thumbnail.

From Botcon.com:
From 1984 to 2006, Earth was the biggest, baddest battlefield of the Great War. But after the Rebirth, Galvatron and the Nebulan Lord Zarak beat it, takin' the fight to Nebulos and other civilized worlds beyond. Sure 'nuff, Optimus Prime and the rest were right on their afterburners, leaving only a skeleton crew to man Autobot City against future Decepticons attacks. As we fought across space a new generation of Transformers arose on Earth, boosted by experimental human and Nebulan science and given the spark of life through technology reverse-engineered from Vector Sgima. Ol' Terra Firma was home to a whole new "Second Generation" led by an Autobot who sees this planet not only as a place to defend, but as the place he considers home! While things were pretty peaceful for a time, we all know that can only last for so long. And now, through the magic of the Cybernet space cube, the BotCon enhanced stories of the Transformers...Generation 2: Redux! That's right, Generation 2 returns! While we usually reveal the names of each character in the BotCon brochure, we have decided to give you your first sneak peak right here with..."Autobot Spark," Leader of the Generation 2 Autobots! |

Courtesy of E! Online and Deadline Hollywood, the roles to be played by John Malkovich and Frances McDormand have been revealed less than a day after the breaking news. SuperHeroHype received a spy report from someone visiting the soundstages of Playa Vista. The spy had stumbled into an area designated as the wardrobe department for Transformers 3.
The spy report revealed that not only were there some Transformers signage and posters hanging about but there were clothing racks full of military gear that were labelled "Iranian Army" and "Ukranian Army". There was a third rack which read "Matt's costumes". THere were some large wooden structures built at one end of the soundstage, and another area where it looked like they were constructing rocky terrain, and there was something else being handled by the crew which "looked like a giant gear". There was also a report of moon reference photos and a NASA moon lander image by the "model" shop on location. You can read the full report over at SuperHeroHype by clicking here! |

Ozformers has posted their coverage from the 2010 Australian Toy Fair, featuring release info and more for various Transformers toys set for release in Australia. Here's some key points of info from 2005 boards member griffin-of-oz:
First half of 2010 - red packed Movie line continues. Second half of 2010 - yellow packed Movie line, red packed gimmick figures, Powercore Combiners, Generations, and Speed Stars. (August in America, Jun/Jul in Australia) Mid year sees a big change in packaging styles for TFs and SW (their biggest two lines at the moment). Animated - no more new figures to be released here. No Arcee or Ratchet either. Human Alliance - still a Kmart exclusive here, and they are still committed to the line. But - only releasing 3 mid year and 3 at the end of the year, probably to make them look like a range/variety of figures, instead of one at a time. Recon Ravage (the mailaway one) will be released here at ToysRUs next month. MP Grimlock will also be a TRU exclusive here. TF2 Robot Replicas definitly not being released here. 80% increase in sales for TFs during 2009 ($40mil - $23mil of that while the movie was in theatres), compared to 2008 ($17mil) and 2007 ($17mil). Looks like Australia has the head jump on some of the new assortments later this summer! |
