HISS Tank member kennywr22 has posted updated G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra sales figures and comparisons from Target. This update gives us an idea of how well the line is doing during the holiday shopping season:
The figures themselves have been doing quite well with sales in 20,000 the last few weeks. Last week it was 24,000 plus. Now i compared these to the transformer line(pretty unfair in my opinion since this is the second movie following a cartoon, has a much bigger fan base already) this line sells about double that at around 48,000 a week. Now the clone wars line sold about 32,000 last week. Now i think that the clone wars has a cartoon and the joes hang pretty close with them in sales. Pits are selling and the deluxe figures(target exclusives) have jump up to over 8,000 a week(thanks to the second wave finally being out.that is compared to around 1,500 to 2,000 before) Overall the sales of joe stuff is quite good in my opinion. What's your all thoughts? Will the holidays sales combined with sales since summer be enough to encourage retailers and Hasbro to pursue more aggressive releases and advertising/promotion for G.I. Joe? |

As a protagonist in the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra movie, it's no surprise that Duke has made an appearance in the Rise of Cobra toyline several times. As an iconic G.I. Joe character, this was to be expected.
The latest figure is Duke (City Strike). City Strike Duke features a mix of parts from Reactive Armor Duke and the popular Paris Pursuit Snake Eyes. Is this combination of parts enough to motivate fans to buy yet another Duke figure? Hit the discuss button to find out! |

Another image of the upcoming mail away Cobra Commander from the 2010 G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra line has emerged. Last month our board members provided images of this figure, in hand with packaging and inserts.
This sample also comes complete with box, et al. Now Hasbro has stated that this figure will ship during the later half of 2010. However, if that's the case, why are we seeing these figures in more frequency, complete, and with packaging? More specifically, why are we seeing these this early? Could the release for these in fact, be bumped up to Spring 2010 Furthermore, what if Hasbro meant that saturation of this figure would be reached by the later half of 2010? If there's anything that we've learned during the past few years, with the 25th Anniversary/Modern Era/Rise of Cobra lines, it's that things can, and most often do, change at a quick pace. Most importantly, do you think that waiting until Fall 2010 is too long of a wait for a toy that looks seemingly complete and ready to go at the moment? Sideshow Collectibles has updated their "ask Sideshow" page with a revelation for 2010, the 1st female 12" G.I. Joe figure(s)! Here's what they had to say:
Q: Any ideas on when we will see female G.I. Joe characters in Sideshow’s 12 inch-line? Any hints on who they may be? A: You could probably guess who, but we expect that the first female figure(s) will be revealed within 2010 and released in 2011. So who could the first figure, or figures be? The Baroness? Cover Girl? Scarlett? Zaranna? Jinx? |

Sister site TFW2005 is reporting that Michael Bell, voice actor veteran of Transformers Generation 1, Transformers Animated, & the voice actor of Duke from the Sunbow G.I. Joe cartoon, has auditioned for the role of General Hawk in an all new, 26 episode G.I. Joe series! With a veteran voice actor auditioning, who else will return from the Sunbow days?
No word yet on styling, the audience this cartoon will be aimed at, animation studios involved, and screenwriters yet. If anything we've got an all new cartoon series to look forward to! |

Kamakura from wave 4 of the G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra line has been reviewed. The only figure of Snake Eyes' apprentice in the Rise of Cobra line so far, this Kamakura's design is a departure from previous Kamakura designs. Even the video game costume has more similarities than this figure.
Yet do the differences from previous designs make this a bad figure? Is yet another ninja worth adding to your movie collection? How well does Kamakura truly stack up? Read on, you might be surprised! Hit the discuss button to read the review! |

Sideshow Collectibles introduced army builders to their very popular 12" G.I. Joe line of realistic G.I. Joe figures this year. Army builders were figures fans wanted for a while, and their wish came true with the release of select Cobra Troopers! So the question everyone is wondering is, were they worth the wait?

HISS Tank boards member Gyre-Viper has posted all new images of the upcoming H.I.S.S. Tank from G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra! The Pursuit of Cobra HISS Tank features opening cockpits for both the driver and gunner. Included is a H.I.S.S. Driver with a mix of parts from previous figures.
Also shown is a new 4 wheeled, VAMP like vehicle, with a new driver! The name of included Joe is unknown at this point. Also worth noting are what could be the return of modular weapons ports! We've seen these used on the movie PIT, but haven't seen widespread use ever since the DTC and Sigma 6 lines. Both of these vehicles and their respective drivers are shown in prototype form. Yet we can already tell that the level of detail shown on these vehicles is a significant jump from what we saw in the Rise of Cobra line! Click on the title bar to take a look! |

HISS Tank boards member BILL has posted all new images of the upcoming Arctic Threat Duke figure from G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra. Duke (Arctic Threat) was a popular figure at JoeCon2009. This figure comes with a snowboard which has popout wings, and ball jointed knees in lieu of double jointed knees like the Ice Viper(possibly to aid better in posing on the snowboard).
When this figure hits retail it will come with the vest that was shown on it at JoeCon. Click on the title bar to see more! |

Ryalltime has posted some surprising news for longtime fans of the original G.I. Joe A Real American Hero comic series started by Marvel Comics:
Diamond recently released information on the Gold-level sponsors for Free Comic Book Day in May 2010. Our book for that level is G.I. JOE 155-1/2, an all-new story that picks up where the old Marvel series (which stopped at issue 155) ended. The book leads into a new REAL AMERICAN HERO series that starts with issue #156. The online cover image wasn't the final version, though--that one is pictured right here, with art by Augustin Padilla, who's doing the interiors on this new book. The inimitable Larry Hama scripts, of course. Will it tie into the DDP books, which took place years after the Joes were disbanded at the end of the Marvel run? Longtime fans remember that G.I. Joe A Real American Hero didn't exactly end the way Larry Hama anticipated, so now we've got something to look forward to as the godfather of G.I. Joe returns to the very title that defined G.I. Joe from the 1980's until now! |
