An auction on Taobao has given us our first look at the box art for the upcoming redecoed 2010 edition of Cybertron Primus. Check out how he's addressed as "Creator Primus" versus "Universal Dominator Unicron!" Also, I really am liking how the art makes a cool inverted display next to the art for the 2010 edition of Unicron!

2011 Freebie: Sideburn - blue recolor of Classics Rodimus in Robots in Disguise Sideburn colors 2011 Club Exclusives: Generation 2 Ramjet - recolor of Classics Ramjet based on Generation 2 Ramjet Animated Transtech Cheetor - remold of Animated Blurr with a new head. Not necessarily an Animated universe character - Action Master Thundercracker from the Classics Seeker mold was planned alongside G2 Ramjet for this years set, but Hasbro told them no based on the fact the molds were in use. Ramjet as noted above will be a Club Exclusive, Thundercracker probably will not happen. Ramjet will probably be Fun Publication's final use of the Classics Seekers. - No plans to do anything involving the Animated universe. - Nexus Prime is now owned by Hasbro so he will probably not turn up in the Club Comics again; Hasbro may have their own plans for him, nothing confirmed. -THERE WILL BE A LIMITED RUN OF 300 MORE PUNCH COUNTERPUNCH EXCLUSIVES. LIMITED TO 1 PER CUSTOMER, IF YOU ORDERED ONE PREVIOUSLY YOU CANNOT ORDER ANOTHER. Botcon 2010: Transformers Collectors’ Club Roundtable |

The Power Core Combiners have been released in Canada, as reported by sister site Cybertron.ca. The new assortments feature a gestalt gimmick involving scout leaders with drone vehicle limbs, which automorph once plugged onto the scout leader. In addition, this line marks the return of minicons who also turn into weapons and armor, making this line an unofficial return of Targetmasters and Breastmasters!
All vehicle drones/gestalt limbs and minicons are swappable, increasing the playability. Happy hunting! |

So here I sit at Botcon 2010 and the Botcon 2011 website is already live! There is also a link to the Sheraton Pasedena website for room reservation booking, but right now it's saying the block has been filled, which seems a little weird. Especially since I'm not hearing from anyone here who's successfully booked.
Anyway, check out the new page here! |

Here's a little gem we found at the end of the show, Hasbro artist Marcelo Matere had a book of his work out on display, and inside were shots of War for Cybertron concept images for characters currently not in the game. There are no plans at all as far as we can tell for these to ever be put into this version of the game, but, it's cool to see what could have been. Or could be down the road.
Included are Ultra Magnus, Rodimus/Hot Rod, Dragstrip, and Motormaster. |

The Heart of any convention (even if it's about "Giant Fighting Robots"), are... the people. How they gather, what they do, how they celebrate are all parts of a successful convention such as BotCon 2010.
Checkout the images coming from the convention grounds, where Transformers Fans great and small, experience the awesome franchise known as... The Transformers. Got some up-close images of Motormaster too. Remember the glass case, housing the Transformers: Hall Of Fame Figures at the BotCon 2010? Dinobot has now joined the ranks alongside his fellow inductees as well. |

(NYSE:HAS) inducted the first class into the new TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame tonight during the annual TRANSFORMERS fan convention known as “BotCon,” which is being held in Orlando for the first time. The TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame honors both those influential in creating and building the iconic entertainment brand as well as TRANSFORMERS characters. Hasbro inducted four individuals into the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame who helped shape the global entertainment brand that has spawned popular action figures, comic book series, multiple animated series, video games and two blockbuster live action movies. The inductees, who were in attendance at the ceremony, are: Bob Budiansky: While working as an editor for Marvel Comics in 1983, Mr. Budiansky named and wrote the personality profiles for most of the first 20 or so TRANSFORMERS characters. He then became the editor of the very first TRANSFORMERS mini-series, which led to his scripting most of the next 50 issues of the monthly TRANSFORMERS comic book. As he continued working with the brand on behalf of Hasbro, he named and wrote the packaging copy and personality profiles of dozens more TRANSFORMERS, and developed story treatments as new lines of TRANSFORMERS were introduced. Peter Cullen: Mr. Cullen is a voice actor best known for providing the English voice for the wise and heroic AUTOBOT leader OPTIMUS PRIME in the popular 1980s cartoon series “The TRANSFORMERS” and in the 1986 animated film “The TRANSFORMERS: The Movie”. He reprised the role again in 2007 and 2009 in the live action TRANSFORMERS movies, and will return for the third installment slated for 2011. Additionally, he has provided the voice of five other TRANSFORMERS robots during his career. Kohjin Ohno: Mr. Ohno started his career at TAKARA TOMY, working on the design of the Microman and Diaclone toy lines, which would later become one of the inspirations for the TRANSFORMERS toy line. Mr. Ohno created SUNSTREAKER, which is considered the first “car to robot transforming toy”. He was also instrumental in the introduction of Beast Wars TRANSFORMERS for the Japanese market. He helped design toys for both live action TRANSFORMERS movies. He takes great pride in being the person who designed the largest TRANSFORMERS toy from Generation 1: FORTRESS MAXIMUS. Hideaki Yoke: While working at TAKARA TOMY, Mr. Yoke invented the Micro-Robot segment within the MICRONAUTS toy line, which featured the engineering innovation of transformation in action figures that were no more than 3 to 4 inches tall. TRANSFORMERS characters MEGATRON, SOUNDWAVE and RAVAGE can trace their origins to Mr. Yoke’s efforts. He acted as liaison between TAKARA TOMY and Hasbro during the early years of their business relationship. Hasbro also inducted five iconic characters into the TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame. Heroic AUTOBOTS OPTIMUS PRIME and BUMBLEBEE, as well as evil DECEPTICONS MEGATRON and STARSCREAM were selected for admission by Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame internal panel of judges. DINOBOT, a character from the 1990’s TRANSFORMERS Beast Wars series, was elected by fans voting at www.transformers.com during the month of May. This year’s BotCon features — for the first time ever — an interactive experience celebrating the launch of the global “HUNT FOR THE DECEPTICONS” online gaming promotion. In this experience, convention attendees can help the heroic AUTOBOTS locate and thwart the menacing DECEPTICONS. BotCon 2010 is the only place fans can partake in this physical interpretation of the online gaming experience. BotCon also features appearances by iconic voice actors from the recent TRANSFORMERS global blockbuster movies and animated television series, as well as the Hasbro TRANSFORMERS brand team members and other industry guests. Guests have the opportunity to buy and sell merchandise, check out the new Transformers: War for Cybertron video game, attend panel discussions led by TRANSFORMERS experts, view the fan-created diorama and customized figure contest, and win hourly door prizes. The convention is being held at the Walt Disney World Dolphin Resort in Buena Vista, Florida. About HASBRO Hasbro, Inc. With the status of the rest of the Transformers Animated line still in limbo in the US(Hasbro is trying to bring the rest of the figures out, like Wingblade Prime), here's more salt to rub in the wounds! Disciples Of Boltax has posted a scan from the upcoming Allspark Almanac II, showing the resin prototype for the triple changer Megatron from Transformers Animated. Publicly unknown until a few days ago, this figure has been canceled, but we at least get to see the resin prototype of "what could have been". Here's more from Jim Sorenson, author of the Almanac(s):
Finally, and I'm being intentionally cagey here, a page from part two. The audience at BotCon flipped out when we showed them this one, the prototype to the triple changer Marauder Megatron toy. Sadly, this idea had to be abandoned by Hasbro when the line ended at Season Three, but isn't this just a gorgeous model? I am incredibly grateful to Hasbro for sharing this and other really cool designs. Hit the thumbnail to check out the canceled Megatron! |

Remember the news article, "Activision UK announces Hunt for the UK's Biggest Transformers Fan contest"?
Activision released its latest game based in the Transformers universe; Transformers: War For Cybertron. That's music to the ears of 12-year-old Jack Gaughan, the boy who is dubbed UK's biggest Transformers Fan. Gaughan, a Glasgow resident, was officially named the biggest Transformers fan in Britain after a month-long nationwide competition. With more than 600 toys, games, official merchandise and memorabilia, it's likely Gaughan challenges for the title of the world's biggest Transformers nut. "I just can't believe it," Gaughan said. "I've been collecting for three years and love everything about Transformers. I don't think there is an inch of space on my walls left for anything else." For his efforts, Gaughan won a life-sized drawing of himself as one of his favorite Transformer characters by artist Jon Davis Hunt. Article And Image Thanks To: Gamespy |

These Masterpiece Transformer style transforming figures feature alt modes derivative of the F-15 Eagle, just like the venerable cone head Seeker team in G1.
