Great new pics of the upcoming Gigantic Battles Walmart packs at ComicFigs.Net - Marvel Universe Gigantic Battles
I'm so relieved that Bucky Cap's shield has the straps. I think I'm going to get a deluxe Wolverine with Motorcycle now just so I can get rid of the Wolverine figure and repaint the Bike black as Bucky Cap's ride that he used when He and Falcon were on their way to storm the base with Arnim Zola and his goons.

The Iron Man's new head sculpt doesn't look as cool as I thought it would, but I'll still probably pick it up. Man, that Skrull Invasion set is so cool looking.

Wasn't too sure about these as I'm not a fan of Bucky Cap, Skrulls, or Giant Man but I gotta admit, all look very nice and I'm actually surprised how well I like the look of the Skrull.

The "Walmart Exclusive" Gigantic Battle set will be $26.96. Not a bad price at all. Good thing these aren't TRU exclusive.

Well mainly because I'm a cheap bastard that is trying 2 stay on top of this collection. LOL. Whoever said growing up was great is wrong. All you do is pay bills and work. On the plus side you don't have 2 wait til Christmas 2 get new toys. LOL.

That's not a bad price at all considering Icons are 20 bucks themselves.
Can't wait for them to be released! |

Yeah, $27 bucks for a BAF-sized figure AND a standard 3.75" figure is not a bad deal. I can't wait for these to come out. Of course, I'd love it if some of the older BAFs were redone for this line as well.

You know, that's a great idea. I missed the BAF's so it would be a great way for us who missed them to get them. They are in scale and I can think of plenty of MU figures that could be packaged with them, i.e. member of Xmen with Sentinel, Fing Fang Foom with Iron Man. Hasbro, listen to this, after all you love to reuse molds. Here's your chance on both the BAF's and some of your MU's.

Do they own the TBML BAF molds? Is there a precedent for this, i.e. have they re-released any BAF already?

As for re-releasing the BAF molds, they haven't yet. But there is a new Galactus on the way and he's roughly the same scale. I would think it's possible for them to do the same with other characters like the Sentinel and FFF. Or as a cost-savings measure, just assemble and reissue the existing BAF molds. A even cheaper option would be leaving them unassembled. Smaller packaging and that nifty parent-cringe-inducing label "Some Assembly Required."

So its still an open question. The Marvel Icons Cyclops figure that Giant Man is based of off was a Hasbro mold. If they didn't specifically get the rights to the TB BAF molds, or if (Chuthlu-forbid) a mold is broken, then we'll never see it. Now, either they didn't have the Galactus mold or they must have felt that Galactus could have been improved, so they sculpted another one. I suppose I wouldn't mind another try on FFF, Watcher, or Apocalypse but it would be a cost-win for Hasbro and well received by fans if they straight reissued previous BAFs esp the Sentinel so others can continue to army build.
