I told myself last year I wasn't going to go nuts, I just wanted the most accurate version of Ratchet I could find and I bought the Best Buy version. Then the premium paint jobs came out and I ended up with everything, including some that I regret but I really love what they have done with the overall look, taking boxy archetype robots and turning them into something feasible. Transformers are an art the movie is an interpretation of them and the designers that pull this off are under so much pressure i think its amazing they look as good as they do. Back to the question at hand i will be buying everything from the core lines, except for redo's ( unless they are better than movie one version)

I doubt it, Energon Downshift will probably have to do for a Classics Wheeljack

Nope, otherwise they would all be numbered, 1 out of however many. They've also done multiple runs on them as well.

I was going to say the same thing Mr. S. Energon Downshift has been my stand in as well. It would be nice if they did get to Wheeljack though, he could use some love.

Say he's part of "Classics/Universe 3.0" after the movie. There's already dispute as to how well the current Universe figures fit in, imagine how different the next batch could be
I personally think the new figures fit in ok with the older Classics, for the most part, but the differences in style are still kind of apparent. |

Good to hear Wheeljack is getting a new figure. But there are still other characters out there who don't have any figures(besides their G1 versions), I'm still hoping we get a new Trailbreaker someday. I have to agree with you Ktulu, the new Classics do have a slightly different look, and to be honest 2.0's been a little dissapointing

None have been that I know of. And they are re releasing MP Magnus, so as long as the demand is there, they can do as many as possible.

Wheeljack isn't getting a new figure yet, but I would suspect he'd be on the short list for 2010. I do think that both he and Trailbreaker should get new mold releases, especially since they've already covered the majority of the '84 and '85 cars. Not to mention the fact that TB can have a remold into Hoist. I suppose WJ could have a Downshift redeco in a pinch.

Yeah, I think they just stagger the production runs, as opposed to back-to-back runs like most other mass-release toys. It's probably based on the amount of presale orders they get from BBTS, TFSource, etc.

Who will Hasbro come out with after ROTF? Who should they come out with? Let the guessing games begin!
Here's a few of mine: 1. Wheeljack 2. Trailbreaker (and Hoist) 3. Jazz 4. Tracks 5. Reflector (as a digital camcorder combiner) 6. Soundwave and his brood (either as pack-ins like Hound/Ravage, or as 2-packs like back in the day). 7. Remold of Inferno into Grapple. 8. Remold of Sideswipe into Red Alert 9. Remold of Ironhide/Ratchet into Skids How about you guys?

I hope Wheeljack is on the short list. I think he'd be perfect for the Classics line. Trailbreaker, too.

I think you're onto something with Grapple and Red Alert, easy remolds for Has/Tak. I would love to see Tracks, as a Corvette, or pseudo-Corvette(licenses and such). I would like to see updated cassettes as throw ins with other deluxes, but I must say an updated Soundwave would be in order. I guess I'm torn then with modern cassette minions because I would like to see a version of Don Figueroa's SUV Soundwave concept art come to life! I think a Uni 2.0 Wheeljack would be awesome, as long as he is not "over modernized". Ya gotta keep some of those wonky proportions that makes Wheeljack so unique! As for Skids, I'd actually like to see him made, but not as a simple repaint, as his toy and 'toon bots don't look much like the Ironhide/Ratchet mold.

They could still do Don's Soundwave and still do the Cassetticons, since the latter are supposed to work with G1 Soundwave/Soundblaster so they wouldn't have to work with the SUV Soundwave, except maybe have pegs/peg holes for Laserbeak and Buzzsaw.
