I'm still buzzing about the fact an all these figures will see the light of day.
Especially the ones revealed in that interview! Yup, I'm gonna be giddy all the way till release! C'mon Craig Kyle, go for a window this time, and maybe we'll get Kimura and Laura's Academy X costume too! Last edited by Snowflakian; 07-21-2010 at 04:10 PM.. |

So much anticipation... I agree with the slated guesses you guys have collaborated, and I have a feeling Nova may be one for the first wave of series 3. Just a feeling. Who's this most recent one, the caped guy, look like? Note the feet...

so we get confirmation on the sentinel, and world war hulk, and thats it. ugh. Hasbro drives me nuts when it comes to reveals. instead we get these reveals from people posting prototypes on ebay.

All those "teaser" were not done by Hasbro or Marvel, they come from Cool Toy Review. The guy over there tends to be in the loop so some might be designs from farther down the line. Point is, Hasbro didn't give them to us, so they are not responsible for them not being revealed. Also, the images only say What If? I were part of Marvel Universe, not I'm going to be part of Marvel Universe. They are just speculation to increase traffic and conversations. I'm more upset that we did not see the X-Men 6-Pack that showed up on eBay around the same time as the last wave of this year did, but the last wave was shown. I know there was a Thunderbird in the diorama, but nothing about the 6-Pack or any of the other figures shown or hinted at.

Marketing = win, we're all drooling and can't wait. So what if a few are still surprises for later still? They still got NYCC and the 2011 toyfair to keep stuff for. Quote:
I'm a little saddened we didn't see everything new either, but typically speaking, we only ever see the upcoming 2 next year waves anyway. More will come at each subsequent show. That's how it's always been, that's how it'll stay. Wets your appetite, and keeps you revvin to buy more. Mattel on the other hand, had to show all their cards just about to keep people with em. So they have to splatter shot all kinds of obscure and fan favorites, cause that's what drives this line, whereas Hasbro has so much wealth to draw on and media exposure, and high sales, it's kinda moot, but at least they cater to all, fans and kids alike, over Mattel's more collector line push. I rather have a successful line that stays around, than a scalped line that never gets distributed. |

i think mattel doesnt care at all about the customers because
1.they increased the price on the DCUC simply because they can, they know probably 65% maybe more of the collectors will still buy them.sadly i do 2.i think they purposely dont make enough of the MOTUC just so it makes people take a day off work(not me) and sweat(not me anymore) at 9 in the morning trying to get a figure that if they dont get it then they would have to wait months for or pay scalper prices on ebay.who know maybe the scalpers were hired by mattel.IMO the DCUC are better than the MOTUC but yet MOTUC are more expensive.to mattel a failed MOTUC toy is when it doesnt sell out in 1 hour.if i were in charge i'd make sure they're were enough figures to last until friday when most people get paid. 3.as for not being able to find DCUC is mattel and the retailers fault The Retailers fault-they may or may not order 1 case per month and may not put them out right away Mattels fault -i went to walmart 1 day and they had 4 cheetahs 4 donna troys and 2 superboys.now did walmart really hold that many figures aside in the back and put them all out at once or did mattel put 4 cheetahs etc in 1 case or only put 1 blue beetle/Blue Devil/negative per case ,i still havn't seen blue devil. No one said all the teasers would be revealed at SDCC. They were just teasers about the upcoming line releases in general.

But you are right, Mattel decides what the case ratios will be, and more often than not they will load a case with a "popular" toy because it sells well. Those that are the least popular (in Mattel's estimation) get shortpacked and become sought-after by collectors. Most manufacturers do this, since cases can only hold a certain number of the toys due to packaging dimensions. It's actually more unusual for a case ratio to be perfectly even, unless it's a case of one toy (MP Skywarp) or a few larger toys (Leader Class TFs).

If anything, I think we will get an ASX Wolverine, masked, in Marvel Universe either this year or next. SDCC proved that Hasbro was not beyond using another XMO Wolverine figure's parts for a Marvel Universe figure. Seeing that the 3 pack X-Force Wolverine pretty much just needs a head swap and new paint job to be an ASX Wolverine, I suspect the mask ASX Wolverine is one of the next figures up for release. It's EASY for Hasbro.

what if they were only showing the teasers to well tease us and that maybe they couldn't show us any of the figures except hulk and sentenial because they were not finished with them yet, maybe they're still working on ASX wolverine so maybe he'll have a new sculpt
