While Toy Fair itself is still going on, several more days to go really. What are your impressions so far?
What's getting you excited already? What's getting you disappointed? Has it been satisfying so far as to maximize your personal spending? What's been your favorite thing overall that you've seen so far? Who's been the most impressive company? Who's been the least impressive company? And finally, though I don't really expect this yet as there are still more days to come. What would you call the MIT of show or Most Impressive Toy of show? Should we get a poll started for a Toyark "MIT" of toy fair? I would say MVT, to play off MVP, but MIT has a funnier connotation when you think of Toy Engineering. |

Transformers overall seemed to get everything that the fans and kids wanted. I am really impress with the Autobot Drift. MUST HAVE. I collect Transformers the least.
Star Wars is really hitting it home with me. They are getting a lot of well needed figures into the line. I collect Star Wars on the side. G.I. Joe seems to be going in the right direction, and I am glad they are getting the rest of those Resolute characters out there. Definately will pick those up. I am also interested in some of the newer versions of Storm Shadow they are producing. I mainly collect Joe, but as of late MARVEL has taken it's place. MARVEL UNIVERSE. Everything shown was old news. BUT IF YOU ARE VIGILANT. You can see that they are releasing a DARK AVENGERS Ms.Marvel. Awsome. I also saw some other prototypes on other websites such as Iron Patriot and Thanos. I cannot wait. I am Collecting Marvel full time but it will be balanced between Star Wars and Joe.

I think the G.I. Joe Pursuit of Cobra stuff is WAY MORE impressive than the Rise of Cobra stuff from last Toy Fair. I feel a LOT less underwhelmed! Most of the vehicles are ones I like, the figures feature very creative designs.
Desert Battle Storm Shadow is bad ass. The Resolute packs are great ideas but they seem lacking in some areas. If anything though, I like the character selection and eagerly await the day of release. Wish we saw more Marvel Universe and Marvel Legends. The Hulk/Valkyrie 2 pack is confusing. Winter Soldier and Black Widow makes sense, but what about New Captain America? Ihe Iron Man 2 mainline looks GREAT. Very impressed and I had my doubts too. Even the command center looks fun.

While I am psyched over Juggernaut and Galactus and the thought of a Thanos and an Iron Patriot, overall I'm disappointed so far. My reason? Well most of what has been shown for MU is overall been seen already. Even the Kitty Pryde/Havok/AIM/ and so on wave was in ToyFare mag but yet other than Juggy none have been shown. I hope the Fair gets better cause while I'm psyched for some of the figures, they really haven't fired me up like last year.

Well just saw some more pics and well gotta say Wrecker looks good and I really like the Target double packs{tiger striped Wolverine LOL} but it really sucks as the Target in these parts rarely if ever stock MU anymore. Really like the Dark Avenger love in the upcoming comic packs but still would rather see the actual figures and not just pictures from a projection screen. Oh, and I feel that if they can make Helicarriers and Quinjets, and such for SHS why no love for the MU line with such things?

Overall I'm loving what they did with marvel, but I want to see the rest of the comic packs and wave 5. I guess they have to save something for SDCC.
Still no last fan poll winner that I can tell at least. The target two packs I hope stick around. Much better idea than the TRU ones, and now I don't have to bother with TRU anymore. Marvel transformers new Motorcycle ironman is a pure winner for me though. I love how it looks so tron sleek. Ghost Rider is a must have too, so He'll have something to ride when his figure comes out finally. Gi Joe: Loving what's shown, and I'll probably get both that snake eyes and that storm shadow with many swords. It's just too much win. And that's a borderline accel suit snake eyes too! Can't wait to see what else comes. They really surprised me with some of these. And I want that Cycle armor! Transformers: Drift, DRIFT, DRIFT!!! I want him so bad, he's just 3 swords of pure win. Like want him now. Hope he's not rare. The PCC were decent, but not everything I'd want. Might get huffer and 3 of the 5 packs though. Superion, Bruticus and a renamed menasor. Movie figures I'm meh on, But finally the third bike, will definitely be getting that. And I love the new movie drift, err sideswipe. Might get the legends ravage, but I can't even find legends wheelie on shelves. T_T The SHS Helicarrier looks sweet too. Still gotta see what the other companies are offering. But I gotta say, so far my answers to all those questions I posed are: What's getting you excited already? MU and Drift. All that was shown of MU looks awesome, and that ironman and ghostrider motorcycles really have me sold. What's getting you disappointed? TF Generations. It needs more variety, from animated to IDW and G1, pretty much anything not movie. And I was disappointed they didn't show the combined mode of the 3 bikes yet. Has it been satisfying so far as to maximize your personal spending? Hasbro has secured my wallet for another year. That's for sure. What's been your favorite thing overall that you've seen so far? TFG Drift 3swords of win, 2nd place storm shadow's 6 swords of win which is tied with MU's Waves 3 and 4 and comic packs. Accel suit snake eyes takes a nice comfy 3rd place. Tied with Bike Armor. Who's been the most impressive company? Hasbro Who's been the least impressive company? Not enough shown yet to say. The only way mattel can knock most of these down at all, is with she-ra. Or a store exclusive she-ra hordak two pack. DCIH parallax if shown could bolster them too. But so far hands down hasbro is winning. Playmates isn't even in the running here. 1. Archangel Wave 3 (2010)
2. Winter Soldier Wave 4 (2010) 3. Havok Wave 3 (2010) 4. Mystique ???? 5. Mary Jane Watson Wave 4 (2010) 6. Luke Cage Wave 2 (2010) 7. Unknown I'm really disappointed at not telling us who the 7th winner/2nd runner up is. Also I guess Mystique is wave 5. As well should be our unknown 7th person on the fan poll. And I'll go ahead and assume thanos is wave 5 too. Unless they hold him over for a different comic pack series after civil war. |

I haven't seen all of it yet, but for me it's kind of lackluster. TFs seems lame, sans MP Grimlock. The Marvel stuff looks sort of cool, but I've never been a fan of the 3 3/4 line. Galactus looks fantastic though. SW looks good too, but the AT-AT, if the pics are of the final product, looks very disappointing. I don't know, maybe it's just me in my old age.

Holie hell, mattel really stepped up finally!
Let's see here, DCIH Parallax Rayner, Sinestro war sinestro, and a new john stewart. Nightiwng's kind meh, but those GLs are tempting now. Even without batteries =/ MOTUC? That really caught me off guard. The nailed some of the obscures I really liked from the versions I liked. She-Ra, and 2k3 random magic badguys ftw! And even Keldor? Nice! In one fell swoop, they've about fill up all my wants of MOTUC. And I haven't even started collecting them yet. Mattel put up a good fight, but I'm still going to have to say I'm enthralled more by hasbro stuff. But man if it wasn't like 55 45 split. Hasbro only edging out because of volume of hits. Mattel was rather short bursts, but high detail and cost. Cept for DCIH where the improved articulation is nice, but lack of accessories is still annoying. But at the cost that's still sweet. All around, makes me excited for SDCC and NYCC. If this is what they're leading with, what are they going to wow use with at the end of the year for christmas? |
