The Cobra Eel was one of the toughest figures to find from the 25th Anniversary/Modern Era line and for you Eel fans out there, Hasbro has given you another chance to get this figure! The Cobra Eel with Wave Crusher is part of the 1st wave of deluxe figure sets exclusive to Target. Fortunately for collectors, the Eel has tended to be easier to find than it's counterparts, as the Snake Eyes with Arashikage Cycle set actually tends to be the hardest set to find now.
With more subdued deco, this version of the Eel was well received from the very beginning, when the 1st images were shown months ago. It's 2 stage vehicle looks familiar doesn't it? It's actually a repainted Valor VS Venom vehicle, retooled for use with 25th Anniversary/Rise of Cobra style figures. Does a repainted vehicle along with a more subdued, popular Cobra troop builder equate to a worthy purchase? Click on the discuss button to find out! |

ACToys member Clon has posted new images of the Target exclusive, deluxe Storm Shadow with Arashikage Cycle set. The Arashikage Cycle is a repainted cycle from both the wave 1 Snake Eyes set and Valor VS Venom This set has been sighted at Target stores but was released very recently, so it hasn't arrived in all areas just yet.

Panda Hunnie has translated information from a couple Korean articles with information on Lee Byung Hun, AKA Storm Shadow from G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra! According to these articles, G.I. Joe 2 may start as soon as the end of this year:
It was from BH Entertainment’s latest release that Byunghun will start filming the sequel of Storm Shadow in GI Joe 2.. as early as end of the year going for the first 6 months of 2010. Because of the successful outing of ‘GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra’ with US$288 million revenue worldwide, the production is wasting no time to start with the sequel. Lee Byung Hun’s management team is coordinating with the Hollywood production to really plan on Byunghun’s filming schedule for the coming year. He had also signed on for the 3rd movie. Maybe BH and his management team is coordinating with GI Joe’s production for something to work out considering that he’s starting the filming for the Storm Shadow sequel.. like almost immediately without wasting much time at all. Who knows.. he might be taking this offer already.. well, maybe and hopefully. And BH Entertainment is not actually silent on the whole proposal either plus the popular notion that he’ll be in Hollywood for the most of next year. For fans disappointed with the supposed "death" of Storm Shadow in G.I. Joe Rise of Cobra, this is music to your ears! Will he take on Snake Eyes once more, or actually join him this time around in G.I. Joe 2? |

For fans of the original G.I. Joe A Real American Hero cartoon series by Sunbow, you can buy the G.I. Joe-A Real American Hero Complete Collector's Set at retail on November 10th! This set has been an online exclusive so far, so this is good news for those of you who prefer buying at retail. It will be in limited quantities though and TvShowsOnDVD has provided more details:
This general release through normal retail channels will only be available IN LIMITED QUANTITY, according to Shout! Factory. The cost of $179.99 is a bit higher than the direct-sale/Comic Con pricing, but it will be identical and come complete with all the same contents: 17 DVDs with 95 episodes, extensive on-disc bonus material (including many "Knowing is Half the Battle" PSAs, a voice cast reunion, retro toy commercials from Hasbro, and much more), a collectible book, and a 1GB "Dogtag-style" (complete with chain) USB flash drive containing G.I. Joe Silent Comics. The main "Sunbow" G.I. Joe item not included in this set already (no matter how you purchase it) is the 1987 animated theatrical film "G.I. Joe: The Movie". Shout! Factory is working on a brand-new 2010 DVD release of that production (the release date, details and pricing of that title aren't available yet, as it's still very much a work in progress). The footlocker set includes an empty place for that Movie disc to go into later on, though, once the studio puts it on the market. So you'll be able to keep your Joe on the go, all in one big package! |

As with other upcoming Battle Station releases, the L.A.W. is a remake of the 1986 LAW that was part of the G.I.Joe A Real American Hero collection. This time around, the L.A.W. is packed with General Hawk and Grand Slam, with the latter already making an appearance in the RoC line as a Target Exclusive. Does this playset make the cut? Following up on the recent news post: http://www.hisstank.com/gi-joe-news/...the-year-9013/, we have more information courtesy of HanCinema via news.nate.com:
Top star Lee Byeong-Heon is in the new Hollywood film, "G.I. Joe 2"! He will be starting the filming by the end of this year and has been contracted for the 3rd sequel, also! Now, he is busy with the drama filming, "IRIS" and its promotions overseas. Most of his time starting next year will be send in Hollywood! Good luck Lee Byeong-Heon! Could G.I. Joe 3 be set planned for filming back to back with G.I. Joe 2? Could we witness a significant evolution of Storm Shadow in the G.I. Joe Trilogy? In any case, Storm Shadow fans rejoice! We'll be seeing more of him in the future! |

SCI FI WiRE spoke with Dennis Quaid AKA General Hawk recently, and he is up for G.I. Joe 2!:
"I'm definitely on board if they do another one," Quaid said in an exclusive interview. "I don't know if they have a script yet, but I'm definitely interested." Fans may have had some issues with Stephen Sommers' summer blockbuster G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, but the hard, cold facts are undeniable: That "real American hero" has raked in almost $300 million this summer, and Joe will absolutely be back for an encore. Yet Quaid wants in under some conditions: The veteran actor does have one special request for Gen. Hawk in G.I. Joe 2. "I want to get out of the pit," says Quaid. "I want to ride a horse and shoot a gun. I want a horse with an accelerator suit." |
