hey arkers! long time no hear! anyway since wave 2 of the iron man line came out i was excited to get the neoclassic armor and when i found him (2 of him) i was really impressed! but i really didn't like the shoulder armor hinges much, despite it aiding the articulation it made it look a little unnatural, so i went and did a mod on the shoulders like Jin Saotome did with his War Machine. then i repainted him with Tamiya Acrylics over Games Workshop Chainmail.

Does the neo-classic Iron Man fig still have the weird "head-angled-down" thing that the classic Iron Man from the first wave had?

Yea, I'm gonna try to see what I can do to mod the neck on mine, so he can at least look straight ahead. That's the problem I'm having right now with my Silver Centurion custom.

so hey, 2 in one post
Iron Man is a mix of the Mark 6 and 3, painted to resemble the deco of the old Modular Armor of the 90's my primary concern with him was to have a set out with the "armor upgrade" line of toys but seeing as the prices are a bit prohibitive for me as of now i'll wait, or i'll wait for more in that line: War Machine: since the original (in all his variants save the HoA one) is so hard to come by here, thanks to scalpers, i resorted to painting a chinese test-shot i bought in a recent convention, thank God it was only missing the guns. those were replaced with pieces from my mechwarrior figurines, and since this was molded in black it made painting easier: TFL |

Lookin' good, eisen! Love the schemes! What paint did you use for War Machine?
The movie War Machine is definitely one of my favorite molds in that line. I'm probably gonna use that one as a base for my Secret Avengers War Machine.

These are astounding works of art. Just really, truly amazing. Very nice work and I'm proud to get to see these damn things to be quite honest. Nice job my friend. Hell, your photoshop work is even very, very impressive.

i should have did this years ago, this one though seemed like a no-brainer (and a really, really late one at that). you see i always liked the first Marvel Universe Iron Man that was made, despite it's many many nitpicks: a thin profile, slightly mispositioned extremities, and that doofy face.
oh lord the face. the original sculpt never sat right with me and so i had to fix that. so i did, it was a pretty simple fix though i just needed to resculpt the brow and cheeks, and , once i panel-lined it and put emphasis on the sunken eyes and the mouth line it made a world of a difference. the rest of it though was just minor fixes, filling in lines in the wrist and getting rid of the holes in the thigh armor. a new paintjob later and i was left with this: |
