We want YOU to help us pick the next action figure to be offered exclusively to Digital Comics subscribers | Marvel.com News | Marvel.com
Marvel's taking a vote on what the next Exclusive MU figure like Nick Fury would be. The choices are: X-Force Archangel Norman Osborn in Hammer Gear Dark Ms. Marvel/Moonstone Voting Ends March 15th. Here's hoping osborn wins... Cause if Archangel does, I might have to get a subscription then. Last edited by Snowflakian; 03-09-2010 at 05:30 PM.. |

The choices actually kind of suck. X-Force Archangel is easily my first choice but I think that this figure could already be a possibility with the coming Archangel figure. Seems like a simple repaint to me. Maybe the design of the outfit is a little different, but the X-Force Wolverine from MU Wave 1 was not entirely accurate either.
And I thought that I read that in 2010 that they would already be including the Dark Ms. Marvel variant in cases. Am I just making this up? I could swear that I read this. Anybody else remember? And Osborn in Hammer gear? Not sure what that means. I hope it's not the jumpsuit he is pictured wearing on the back of the packaging. I would much prefer Osborn in a suit. With the exception of Osborn, seems like lazy options to me. |

With the exception of Osborn, seems like lazy options to me. These figures are all retools/repaints. It's the easiest method for an exclusive to keep cost down. Though they may throw in a few weapons, new head, or whatnot too. None of the exclusives will ever be a fully original mold. X-Force wolverine needs a new belt, and tweaked mask to be accurate. I agree, I'd almost rather he was on this list instead of Archangel as I'd prefer archangel in x-force outfit to be on shelves since he's just a repaint. The nice thing with Dark Ms. Marvel though, she has two outfits. Long boots, and classic boots. So they could in theory later still work one out for a wave long after the exclusive. Only her head, maybe just the hair is new on her. As the mask of the original could be painted to have the open eyes. Osborn will probably be a hydra agent or shield agent repainted with his head being new (potentially re-useable for an unmasked Iron Patriot figure?). Archangel is just a straightforward repaint. Maybe with new hand styles shifted from a previous figure. So essentially the exclusives will only have the following: Repainted figure New Head (if applicable) New Hair (if applicable) weapons that can be reused later... Like fury's skrull gun being included with the skrull figure. (Weapons if Applicable to the character) So if any of those criteria can make a new figure that fans want. Chances are higher for it being an exclusive down the road. I kinda wish they'd go more for the obscure though. Give us DarkHawk, or Nova corps men, or Squirrel Girl, or other random oddities that'd really make us dive right in, at the same time though the exclusives need to be mainstream enough to grab even the casual reader or collector... So the more populars take forefront like Nick Fury, Archangel, and Osborn. Last edited by Snowflakian; 03-09-2010 at 06:47 PM.. |

Ms. Marvel was 'speculated' to be in wave 5 of 2010. It was never officially confirmed. Fans just assumed since she was shown at toyfair that she's listed for the unknown wave 5 listing that has never been officially stated. Which this is a GREAT thing then. As it proves she's not the 7th fan choice winner/2nd runner up. So we still don't know what that figure will be.

I know that it is Moonstone posing as Ms. Marvel, but it is still Ms. Marvel at the end of the day. And, I already have that version by combing the modern and classic Ms. Marvels. I just would have expected them to be a little more inspired if they are going to give fans a voting choice. Oh well. |

I never said or expected any of the exclusive characters to be an entirely original mold. I DO expect Hasbro to at least give us an exclusive of a character that we don't already have.

I just would have expected them to be a little more inspired if they are going to give fans a voting choice. Oh well. They have to get a subscription to get one figure that's unique. I do agree I'd like more random variety of new characters. But with the choices they have with what's going on right now in marvel. Seems appropriate enough for now. Archangel was a fan poll winner, so he must be loved by fans, and they haven't slotted his repaint in for a wave yet anyway apparently. Osborn and Hammer are all over Marvel right now, and Hammer is even the forefront of 2010 waves. Dark Ms. Marvel... No clue here honestly, she seems like a random choice. Considering her head and hair can be re-used for Black Cat though, maybe that seems fitting since her two other versions of costumes are available on shelves and always sell well. So they wanted to see how fans would react to her instead of a complete unique character they can make more money off of in stores. (IE Black Cat to replace her would have been an awesome idea, BUT! Then she wouldn't be on store shelves where she could sell like wildfire.) Dark Ms. Marvel's mask is also the open eyed one, not the eyeless white variety like normal ms. marvel. The problem is: They need a character who fans will want, isn't obscure, and won't harm their character wave rosters for later. Personally I was planning to skip archangel in favor of the X-Force costume. So this makes that more expensive for me now. Last edited by Snowflakian; 03-09-2010 at 07:03 PM.. |

why don't they just cut the crap, the only reason ms marvel and archangel are in there is so everyone votes for osborn.
with osborn you could take off his head to make a unmasked iron patriot and why wouldn't they do it ,its just fury's body with a new head sculpt.i wouldn't be surprised if the next sub fig is maria hill or ms.hand archangel is just a repaint even if he gets 0 votes they will still make him ,if not this year then he'll be out jan 2011 Ms.Marvel,i doubt she will win,and if she doesn't is it really necessary she be made ,Why would they make a fig that's more convenient for the fans.would it not be better if they make us buy another modern ms marvel to have the same head on both the classic and modern body. |

I'd actually have prefered it if that third slot was Ms. Hand or Maria Hill. I want both of them too, and I doubt either will get a figure anytime soon.
Ms. Marvel's slot seems awfully random. Though I am digging the new head, it just seems weird they'd even attempt to force fans to finish off the dark avengers by making one teammate an exclusive. Hopefully she'll still be slotted into a wave if she doesn't win the poll. I like the more accurate head over the part swapping head. Osborn could win, but X-Force Archangel will be a strong contender. Which sucks cause as I've said time and time again, I'd want to buy him. But 30 bucks for him is a bit much! Osborn I could pass on easily. So yeah, he's who I vote for. xD Iron Patriots head as far as I can tell isn't removable. At least Extremis Iron Man's isn't as far as I can tell cause of the new head articulation for him to look up. |

Are the IM2 figs heads removable? Because I only have the comic war machine and dynamo, and neither of them are that I can tell. Haven't gotten any other IM movie figs yet to check them. We already know Nick Fury will be at least, since he uses a Joe body. |

So it is, I just tried. I was afraid of breaking it previously, so lucky for you you were right lol. Though honestly I would have been the only one SOL if it wasn't. xD

Another reason I voted for Osborn:
At least Fury came with a lot of accessories. Jetback, pistol, Skrull gun, machine gun AND rocket launcher. I mean thats a friggin arsenal. I'd put money on Osborn come with a Green Goblin mask or something and a couple of guns or accessories... |

A Ms. Hand accessory secretary would be nice. =D So yeah osborn all the way.
Just remember to tell everyone to vote, because Marvel is only running the poll through the 15th. Kinda surprised this hasn't been front paged either. |

I signed up for the subscription just to get the Nick Fury figure.
I have yet to read one comic online and the subscription expires at the end of March. The funny thing is that I paid $24 or so for it and now I've seen the figure go for over $70 on Ebay. Maybe it wasn't such a bad deal after all because I would hate to have to pay for that figure now. As for the comic subscription I think it's a good idea and all, but I don't seem to have the time to read through the comics online. I wish it would have been a downloadable subscription instead like the one they have for the PSP. That way I could take them on the go.

Easy choice: Osborn
Dark Ms.Marvel was shown at Toyfair. I can only expect them to release this figure down the line, and even so, we already have 2 Ms.Marvels that can easily be kit-bashed. X-Force Archangel is a simple repaint that will most likely be released since we have already recieved Wolverine and Warpath. A Hammer Osborn is a unique character. He has not had a lot of comic time as a Hammer soldier BUT they have already shown Iron Patriot. Hasbro has not said if they will be doing any identity characters any time soon SO...Why not get the Osborn JUST IN CASE WE DON'T??? Do you not think it to be cool to have an UNMASKED IRON PATRIOT?

People should vote for Osborn, and then hammer (no pun intended) Hasbro with questions in the next Q&A about why Hasbro would even consider only allowing certain teams to be completed via exclusives.
Unfortunately, Archangel is pretty much guaranteed to win. All the "silent" message board people always start foaming at the mouth for X-Characters. |

What's the point of them setting the results to private? Does that mean they're just going to pick whoever they want anyway?

You know....you couldve just ended your subription after the pre-paid 3/5/6 months whatever so as to not incur more charges....

Yessss yessss fight my little slaves It's still a shitty set-up, regardless. X-Force Archangel and Dark Ms. Marvel should be no-brainers for the single-card line, and yes, the implication is that they're NOT planned for this year if they're up for this "exclusive" dealie. Remember that character selections are finalized roughly six months to a year out. If they wanted to make it interesting it should've been Osborn (preferably in a suit, but HAMMER uniform is OK), Maria Hill, or say, Bag-Spidey or something. Instead they threw an X-character up there (and one that already won a fan's choice poll) so he's pretty much guaranteed to win no matter what we do (I've seen these "campaigns" on message boards pop up every single time one of these polls are run, and it never changes the results. |

I hoped Osborn would be the digital comics exclusive when I saw him on the back of the new packages, but Archangel and Dark Ms. Marvel? Anyone who wants to buy two Ms. Marvels can get a Dark Ms. Marvel with little or no effort and if they aren't releasing Archangel as a paint variation, that's a waste of a good mold.
I'm tired of paying out extra money for "exclusives" that are just sloppy repaints. If Mary Jane and Ms. Lion can find their way into a regular blister pack, then they can squeeze in another Ms. Marvel and one of the X-Men. "Old man in jumpsuit" is a guaranteed peg squatter. Make him an exclusive. Otherwise, by the time this line dwindles away in four or five years, we'll be drowning in a sea of orange and pink "exclusive" Hand Ninjas. |

I think we will know who will will but do you not agree that this looks to be a set-up?
COME ON. Arch Angel and Ms. Marvel are the top contenders against an exclusive Osborn figure? It seems fishy. They could have thrown sooo many other characters our way. Also, even if they do it or not, technically speaking, they have already given us a hint that they will be releasing an x-force Arch Angel. HORAY.
