Botcon.com has updated with an official image of Autobot Spark in Robot mode! From this image we can see that he will not have a new head, which begs the question, who in the 2010 set will? Will we get a new sinister head for Clench? Or a nice new toothy grin for Sky-byte? Click the discuss button to voice your opinion.

TRANSFORMERS LAST STAND OF THE WRECKERS #4 (& virgin incentive) TRANSFORMERS SPOTLIGHT PROWL (& sketch incentive) Sounds like a good week for Transformers comics with the next chapter of the excellent Last Stand of the Wreckers and the promising Spotlight Prowl, which bridges the gap between Prowl's character evolution between All Hail Megatron and the ongoing comic series. |

The latest issue of Game Informer has been release, and it includes a nice article talking about War for Cybertron's multiplayer modes, and in particular it details how the "create a character" function works. There is also some information on how special character abilities will work in single / co-op mode, and a partial listing of multiplayer modes that will be available. Here is a quick summary of the main points from the article: - Alternate modes are restricted to class, and are car, truck, jet and tank. - After picking class, you can choose the chasis, colors and names. - After completing this, you get into the meat of the system, choosing your weapons, abilities (limited to two) and upgrades (limited to three). - Abilities fall into two groups - consumable abilities, which you need to collect Energon crystals to charge, and abilities with a "cool down" period after use. Vehicle modes also have their own, unique abilities, with their own cool down times. This also applies to single player and co-op mode. - Upgrades are split into three categories - Offensive, Defensive, and General. - Offensive and Defensive upgrades are tied to your character class. General upgrades are available to everyone. - An example Defensive upgrade is given for the Scout class, a speed boost. High Moon goes on to explain how this can be combined with a General upgrade reducing weapon recoil. - A perk system, in the style of Call of Duty, will be present to unlock new weapons and upgrades. A partial listing of the multiplayer modes is also given by High Moon, and includes the following modes. Please note, these are not exhaustive and there are other multiplayer modes yet to be revealed: - Team battle, consisting of two teams of five players each. - Free for all melee, consisting of up to ten players going head to head. - Deathmatch - Team Deathmatch - A capture the flag mode, called "Power Struggle" - "Code of Power", a two and a half minute team battle where players fight over a powerful melee weapon. As you can see, there is a good mixture of classic shoot 'em up multiplayer modes and some unique new ideas. |

An auction has been listed on Chinese auction site Taobao for a new Revenge of the Fallen two pack. The two pack repackages seemingly unaltered versions of Revenge of the Fallen Voyager Class Optimus Prime, and the 2007 Movie Premium series Bumblebee. It is not known where this set will be released, but if previous, similar repacks of existing figures are anything to go by, this may in fact end up being a Costco or Sam's Club exclusive set.
As always, stay tuned to TFW2005 for more information as it becomes available. |

It was only a couple of hours ago, that we brought you an interview with the producer of Transformers 3. While ComingSoon.net chatted with Lorenzo di Bonaventura, IGN had decided to chat with actor John Malkovich.
Malkovich, admitted that he likes a good giant-robot movie as much as the next guy, despite his seemingly higher-brow tendencies. He had this to say... "I was never a fanatical movie person," Malkovich told. "There are many popular films I love like anyone else. Having said that, I'm not someone… I don't have time to go to the movies very much. I work [on] a lot of different things; I'm always busy. But I'm always happy to see a popular movie. … I'd seen the first [Transformers], which I liked and thought it was funny." The article confirms the earlier rumor of Transformers 3 Principal Photography to begin in May. Also, LatinoReview.com too had a talk with the actor... How did you get involved with the new Transformers movie? Malkovich: I spoke with him last week. Lorenzo and Mark and Summit are producing. They approached me about it. I’d see the first one, which I liked and thought it was funny. I like working with them very much. They’re very good producers, they’re very hands-on, always around, really get their hands dirty which is not so normal. Things are set in motion. What do you think of "General Bay" and the cast? TFW2005 is proud to provide a second early Transformers comic review today! We review Last Stand of the Wreckers #4! Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 is out tomorrow - Wednesday, April 21st - from IDW Publishing Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 Credits Publisher: IDW Publishing Written by: Nick Roche & James Roberts Pencils: Nick Roche & Guido Guidi Inks : Guido Guidi & Andrew Griffith Colors by: Josh Burcham Letters by: Chris Mowry Editor: Andy Schmidt Associate Editor: Denton J. Tipton Covers Cover A – Art by Nick Roche and Colors by Josh Burcham Cover B – Art by Trevor Hutchison Retailer Incentive – Art by Trevor Hutchison Review When IDW Publishing announced the Last Stand of the Wreckers mini-series, fans immediately noticed the ominous phrase in the title and realized that the story would be very dark. The mini-series has continued to meet all of those expectations thus far and then some. Last Stand of the Wreckers #4 continues to build upon the excitement from the first three issues, but stands as something even more. The ante has been upped: More non-stop action, multiple deaths on all sides, secrets revealed, and a look back at some more familiar faces! As Issue #3 ended, Perceptor, Topspin, Pyro, Ironfist, and Verity have found Aequitas while Kup and Guzzle head into the depths of Garrus-9 to find a non-specified prisoner. Twin Twist was being tortured by Stalker, with Impactor and Springer bound and looking on in horror. Issue #4 picks up right where we left off as the identity of Aequitas is revealed as is the name of the prisoner that Kup and Guzzle were looking for. Stalker, meanwhile, continues his torture session. By now, readers have been brought back up to speed on many of the Wreckers and their history. In Issue #4, Roche and Roberts delve deeper into the past and purposes of Pyro and Ironfist. Ironfist’s back story then becomes very important in the story. Beyond the back story, the writers have done a nice job at keeping the readers guessing. The storylines appeared to indicate certain revelations and characters were to be introduced, but the end result was different than expected. Although readers were keen on identify what the word “Aequitas” stands for, almost all predictions on the identity were incorrect. Many readers have correctly guessed the identity of the prisoner that Kup and Guzzle were headed towards, but what they found there was not what they expected to find. A flashback also features some more familiar faces from the Wreckers team as well as gives a small storyline to some of the most obscure characters in Transformers comic history. As the mini-series is headed towards an end, the writers’ managing of the story has been top-notch. While keeping up the action that has intrigued readers, the story is headed towards an ending with revelation of key storyline points and the identity of Overlord’s mission. Although there is still much yet to come in the final issue, you can already feel like the story is starting to wrap up into the neat bow. Like with the last issue, there were many contributors to the art in the issue. Guido Guidi assisted Nick Roche with the pencils, while both Guido and Andrew Griffith were on inks. On the colors end, Josh Burcham was back to solo duty. Regardless of the multiple hands involved in art duties, they managed to again pull off an issue that contained art that was visually consistent. Panels containing action sequences tend to be cluttered, but the job on inks and colors make those details clearly distinguishable. And you want larger panel money-shots? They’re back, after being absent in Issue #3. The staff on this mini-series keep doing it. With every issue, they have topped the effort made beforehand. As the Wreckers make their last stand in the fifth and final issue, almost as intriguing is if Roche and Roberts can make the last issue of Last Stand their best effort in a stellar mini-series. |

TFW2005 is proud to provide another early Transformers comic review! Today, we review Spotlight Prowl! Spotlight Prowl is out tomorrow - Wednesday, April 21st - from IDW Publishing Spotlight Prowl Credits Publisher: IDW Publishing Written by: Mike Costa Art: E.J. Su Colors by: Andrew Dalhouse Letters by: Chris Mowry Editor: Andy Schmidt Associate Editor: Denton J. Tipton Assistant Editor: Carlos Guzman Covers Cover A – Art by Nick Roche and Colors by Josh Burcham Cover B – Art and Colors by E.J. Su Retailer Incentive – Art by E.J. Su Review As recent readers of the comics have noted, the Prowl featured nowadays is different than the Prowl presented in the first half of IDW Publishing’s Transformers comic run and in past representations. Prowl had a code to live by. Although he may have disagreed at times with orders given, he obeyed the chain of order. His actions were guided by established rules and through the analysis of data. Lately, some of his actions have involved actions of questionable ethics and decisions that seem to go against those he would have chosen in the past. His actions as of late seem to insinuate he’s more likely to follow his own agenda than that of the Autobots as a whole. Spotlight: Prowl attempts to fill in the history regarding why the readers see a change in Prowl. Although the story does provide reasoning why seems to be making decisions that are different than those in the past, it does not explain such questionable ethics as those found in All Hail Megatron #15 in which Kup was rebuilt with some personality sub-routines added and controlled by Prowl. A majority of the story in Spotlight: Prowl takes place between the end of All Hail Megatron and the beginning of the Transformers ongoing series. Following the victory over the Decepticons on Earth, Optimus Prime struggles to determine the correct path for the Autobots to follow as he comes to believe the army structure of the Autobots is no longer necessary. Prowl, meanwhile, does not agree with orders given by Optimus Prime to perform an ongoing assignment of helping and monitoring the humans while keeping his disguise. As Prowl watches over the humans in his police car disguise, he continues to analyze the comparisons between humans and Transformers by running numbers/data. As the story proceeds and events unfold, Prowl learns that the data may not always dictate the correct course of action. The writer on Spotlight: Prowl is Mike Costa, who is also responsible for penning the ongoing series. As such, the Spotlight is definitely written with the ongoing series in mind. The events in this issue help explain some previously unknown details from the first five issues of the ongoing series. Beyond Prowl’s new direction, the appearance of Jetfire, Seaspray, and Windcharger are explained along with the fate of a certain Decepticon. Since the story does flow with the ongoing storyline, Spotlight: Prowl is very much a story that will be liked only by those who continue to follow and enjoy the ongoing. Spotlight: Prowl features the return of E.J. Su, who was the primary artist on much of the first few years of Transformers Generation One-era comics for IDW Publishing. Like Don Figueroa did for the ongoing series, E.J. Su has changed his style for Spotlight: Prowl. Not as drastic as Don’s changes, Su’s changes to the Transformers designs can best be described as a mix of his previous art style and that of the current “Classics/Universe” designs. The end result, especially in the case of both Prowl and Optimus Prime, are character designs that are more thin and lanky in appearance. The update to E.J. Su’s style is refreshing. Along with some striking backgrounds, Su shows that he hasn’t lost his touch since taking a hiatus from Transformers. His art is enhanced too, by the coloring of Transformers newcomer Andrew Dalhouse. On the negative side, those who have been frustrated with the multiple art styles between the ongoing series and concurrent mini-series (such as Bumblebee and Ironhide) will continue to be frustrated that Spotlight: Prowl introduces yet another style into the mix. As a stand-alone story, Spotlight: Prowl serves as a nice read. It’s simple and to the point. As part of the ongoing saga, it fills in some of the gaps readers have questions about. However, the spotlight does not fully answer all of his recent actions. More important than an explanation regarding why Prowl looks at the data differently now would have been an explanation of questionable actions such as the rebuilding of Kup. Unfortunately, questions such as those remain unanswered. |

Well, every year on April 20th, we celebrate the official birthday of TFW2005.COM. We registered the domain in February back in the day, but didn't get things up and running for the first time until the following April or so. We believe the official launch date at that time was around the 20th, so we went with it. And no, it has nothing to do with that other celebration today.
So, today not only marks TFW2005.COM's birthday for this year, but also for our first DECADE in existence. That's right, TFW2005 turns 10 today. Crazy huh? It seems like a lifetime ago. Beast Wars was just ending, Car Robots (eventually Robots in Disguise here) was in full swing over in Japan, and Beast Machines were hitting shelves. That was TEN YEARS AGO! A lot has happened in those 10 years here at TFW2005, and in all of our lives. So take this day to reminisce about the good times, and say good riddance to the bad ones. Here's to another 10. Share your stories in the discussion thread. WORD! |

In celebration of 10 years of TFW2005, I'd like to feature a little auction that allows you to own a piece of TFW2005 history. Back in 2005, we held a little contest with statue company First4Figures. Entrants designed a super-deformed Transformer that they wanted to see as a statue. Then the 2005 Boards members chose the winner and a statue was produced. The TFW2005 logo is even featured on the box. The statue was featured in both G1 Ultra Magnus and Diaclone Powered Convoy colors.
So today's Featured Ebay Auction is for a TFW2005 Fan Choice SD Ultra Magnus Mini Statue. Today's auction comes from seller toywiz.com. And don't forget to check out some of the Other Transformers Auctions to find that missing piece in your collection. You can see images of the winning art entry, the Diaclone Powered Convoy variant, and the poster of the Top 10 entries by clicking the headline of the story. |

You may have heard on several of our fellow Transformers fan sites that this year's Transformers Collector's Club exclusive, Dion with Cop-Tur, has been delayed by up to six weeks. However, the good news is this delay has now been resolved, and Dion will begin shipping at the end of this month. Check out the full message, sent to all Transformers Collector's Club members, below:
Here is an update on this years FREE membership exclusive Dion: In March we announced that this item was scheduled to ship at the end of April. Though we are often leery of giving even "scheduled" specific dates, we felt confident that they would be on time. However, as can be the case very often in this industry, the shipping schedule was changed due to constraints at the factory. At one point they had pushed us six weeks, but we were able to work with the factory and are pleased that they agreed to ship them from China by the end of next week. The simple translation is this: Dion SHOULD start being mailed out next month, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, they SHOULD all be en route to the entire membership by the end of May. We are very excited to get this great figure to all of you just as quickly as possible and thank you again for your patience. You heard it here FIRST on TFW2005! Keep checking back for more information on this and everything else Transformers as it becomes available. |
