Some of you may have heard of him, Some of you may not. But the important thing is, actor Robert Paul Taylor will be in Transformers 3.
On April 27th the actor updated his twitter account with... "TRANSFORMERS 3!! I just got the call!!!! Top Secret Desert Location! Oh I'm loving this..." And today he updated it with... S250 has posted an interesting picture on his Twitter account - a blue redeco of the Energon Downshift toy. Who could it be?
Given the markings on the hood, and the fact it's a redeco of what is still the best modern representation of Generation 1 Wheeljack, all signs are pointing to Slicer. Slicer was an Action Master, a Decepticon redeco of Action Master Wheeljack, who was released with Rumbler as a part of the Action Master Exo-Suits assortment at the very end of the Generation 1 line, after the line had already been dropped in the US. Given the obscurity of the character, and his status as a "post US G1" toy, it is all but assured that Slicer here will be a Botcon souvenir pack exclusive. As always though, make sure to keep checking back here for more news and revelations about this item and all other new happenings on the Transformers news scene. |

S250 has also posted an interesting comment on his Twitter account. In it, he confirms the earlier information we reported about a redeco of Armada Unicron being released in September, and suggests it is a part of the Takara-Tomy Transformers Celebration 2010 initiative, alongside Masterpiece Convoy Sleep Mode and the Transformers Animated Optimus Prime / Rodimus two pack.
He goes on to suggest that of the four spaces on the Takara-Tomy Transformers celebration 2010 website, the first is known to be Masterpiece Convoy Sleep mode. The second is the aforementioned Animated two pack. The third he says is this Unicron redeco. The fourth, he speculates, is another Masterpiece - Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime. Given the central role of Hot Rod / Rodimus Prime in Generation 1 Season 3, released as Transformers 2010 in Japan, this makes sense, and doubly so, given that the Takara-Tomy Transformers 2010 logo prominently features the arm of Hot Rod in the background. |

The new Transformers Animated merchandise for Japan keeps on rolling! This time, we have an image of a very cool set of Transformers Animated gashapon (small PVC toys in capsules dispensed through vending machines). Like the Transformers Animated keychains, this "Microbots Collection" is done in the popular super deformed (small body / big head) style. The lineup will feature Optimus Prime, Megatron, Bumblebee, Starscream, Blackarachnia and Grimlock.

MTV recently had a brief chat with Transformers 3 Producer; Lorenzo di Bonaventura. He talked about some very important topics that are being circulated throughout the Internet as facts or rumors. Bonaventura explained about the possibility of Transformers 3 going 3D, Dispute between Megan Fox & Michael Bay and most importantly about the Core Mythology Plot of Transformers 3.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura stated that producing Transformers 3 in 3D is still in discussion; “We're literally in the middle of that. There's no definitive answer“ He dismissed the rumor of the dispute between Megan Fox and Michael Bay; “Come on! It's so silly. As though we would want to mess with such a successful combination.” And teased the fans about the Core Mythology of Transformers 3; “I didn't think we veered away from the mythology in the second one. We stay pretty close to mythology in general, sometimes we add to it, as we did on the first and the second one. In second one, we're dealing with the matrix of leadership, a very clear mythological component. The Fallen is one of the original 13 Transformers. We were sticking fairly close to the mythology. We are going to continue to explore the past in the third one and that will continue to inform the present. I think it's pretty much the same thing we did on the first two: you try to get as close as you can to the lore and sometimes you run into pieces where there's not enough information to make a judgment, so you make you own call. That's a necessary component. By and large, the fans have accepted and embraced what we've been doing.” We’ll be hearing more Transformers 3 news, now that things are set in motion. Stay tuned with TFW2005 as we bring-in more TF3 News. |

Sponsor Big Bad Toy Store informed us of a new preorder for Project ROBOBUZ : Heroic Leader - Bendway.
This is the first character in a series of transforming busses and other vehicles. "Project Robobuz" is merely the first chapter of the story that gave birth to it all. The first character in this line is the Heroic Leader - Bendway. This figure is designed and manufactured in Germany! Bendway is 1:64 scale. The bus mode is 28,8 cm (11.3 inches) long and the robot mode stands 21 cm (8.3 inches) tall. 1:64 is in scale to common Matchbox / Hot Wheels cars (and it is very close to the scale of the Bonecrusher TF Movie Deluxe Toy, in case one wants a transforming bus to take revenge). A mecha style Katana sword is included and Bendway features real rubber tires. Click the image to the left to view additional images. |
