The last 2 figures from the Henkei line, Smokescreen & Red Alert, have been released in Japan. These figures contain slightly different paint applications compared to their Classics counterparts, as well as chrome. Red Alert has not been confirmed for US release in the Universe Classics 2.0 line yet.

Robot Watch has full coverage of the recent TakaraTomy Summer Exhibition. On display were the next entries into the Alternity line - Megatron in both of his incarnations, and Convoy "Super Black" version, and all three look very sharp! Also on show was the Japanese version of the Transformers Revenge of the Fallen poster, and some very cool wall scroll posters depicting Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Many other upcoming products, such as Ultimate Battlecharged Bumblebee and the voicechanger helmets, were also on show. Rounding out the coverage is a new image of the Robo-Q Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, though curiously camera shy in this new image - they've got their backs to the camera! Click on the link above to check out the Japanese language coverage or just look at the lovely pictures.

Last time on Transformers Animated - The Autobots and Sari celebrated Christmas, but with Soundwave being the hot toy, things were never going to be easy! Trapped by Soundwave and his minions Laserbeak and Ratbat, will the Autobots escape from this diabolical trap? Or is it a case of "Autobots inferior, Soundwave superior"?
Tune in tomorrow to catch Transformers Animated: Human Error Part 2 at 8am on Cartoon Network to find out! |

2005 Boards member Livingdeaddan has shared these images of a Japanese promotional pamphlet for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen. Called Transformers Revenge in Japan, the pamphlet does not show off anything new, and actually recycles images of Bonecrusher from the first movie to fill out space. However it is still an interesting oddity for those who collect other non-toy movie merchandise.

With TFCon Toronto well underway, we have received these images from Fansproject's table where they have unveiled some exciting new upcoming products, including their first venture into actual transforming robots!
Artwork on show depicted the three TFX-Warbots, Defender, Collector, and an unnamed third. Only Defender was shown fully - he is an all-original, fully transforming homage to the Generation 1 Autobot Springer, and can transform between helicopter and land vehicle modes. Collector and the third bot were only seen in silhouette, however, from Collector's silhouette it is clear he is a tribute to the Generation 1 Transformer Wreck-Gar, while 2005 Boards member Venksta confirms that the unnamed third robot's inspiration is Generation 1's Broadside. He can also transform between three distinct modes. Also on show were concept designs and CGI renders for the TFX Protector set. This set, designed for the Transformers Classics Rodimus, upgrades Rodimus into Rodimus Prime, and looks set to be the perfect companion piece to the City Commander set. Prototypes of previously revealed items were also on show - the G3 Trailer was shown in each of its different configurations, and its interaction with the Classics / Universe 2.0 Deluxe Autobots, as well as Powered Commander, was shown off. The Energon and Revenge of the Fallen Superion upgrade limbs were also on show - these additional parts give Energon or Revenge of the Fallen Superion more traditional arms and feet, for those who bemoaned the more unorthodox weapon limbs of the official release. Last but not least, there was also artwork shown for a totally original transforming robot work. Called TFX-Salutation, this all-original work is a combiner team called the Glacialbots, with the central portion being formed by a mammoth! Check out all the images by clicking on the title of this story! |

2005 Boards Member S250, a reliable source who has given us lots of sneak peaks at Transformers Animated Season 3 plot points and new cast members, has revealed two new characters. These characters will show up in the episode production numbers 38 and 39 - possibly the next two episodes! The first of the two images (shown to the left of this post) is of Grandus, a character long hinted to make an appearance at some point in Season 3. What you are seeing is his alternate mode. He will show up in the episode with the production number 39 - which means we might be seeing him the week after next! The other image is of Flareup, who is set to show up in the episode with the production number 38 - which should be the next episode unless the production order got mixed up. Flareup is very faithfully based on the Botcon 2005 exclusive character, who was herself a reuse of the Transformers Energon Arcee mold. Discuss this exciting new information on our 2005 Boards! |

TFW2005 had a chance to sit down with Dan Gilvezan's manager this past weekend at TFcon in Toronto. She let us know that BotCon did contact her and wanted Dan to attend their convention this year. However, they were unable to come to an agreement with the new management of BotCon. Does this mean that we won't see G1 Bumblebee at a BotCon again? Only time will tell.

In an interview with Ugo Movie Blog, Roberto Orci has officially confirmed that Frank Welker, the voice of many 80s villains including Generation 1 Soundwave, will be reprising his role as Soundwave for Transformers Revenge of the Fallen! Frank Welker's other classic roles span a wide range of 80's cartoons and include Megatron, Dr Claw on Inspector Gadget, and Freddy on Scooby-Doo (and that's not even scratching the surface! Chances are if you have ever watched a cartoon in the 80's, you have enjoyed Mr Welker's talents).
Talk about this excellent news on our 2005 Boards! |

A few months back, we received images of a then-unknown voyager class transformer from Revenge of The Fallen. This figure turned into a cargo plane and stored a miniature Optimus Prime figure in it's cargo bay. 2005 boards member S250 has come through and revealed this figure's identity. The name of this figure is Stratosphere!
Sadly, the space shuttle that was mounted on top in jet mode, and used as a gun in robot mode, is rumored to be canceled. |

This figure is definitely more than meets the eye, as the vehicle mold is small, but the robot mode is surprisingly tall. Click on the title bar to check it out! |
